A Must Have building a vinyl library

I have had to amend my use of some words that are considered inappropriate for the under 18 crowd.
In 1969 I was a senior in high school and "Let it Bleed" was released that December. I was still mesmerized by the previous release "Beggars Banquet" and used my Christmas money to purchase "Let it Bleed". I had just turned 18 that December and the music and lyrics of each song had its own identity, it's own (for a high school student) wiser, experienced, appeal; for me the album seethed exotic s&#ual energy. The album portrayed a decadent life that I imagined these musicians must dwell in; they were infinitely more experienced, worldly, dangerous, and irreverent than I would ever become yet longed to sample. The music was a vehicle into the life of rock/blues musicians of which I could only catch a glimpse through the very conservative newspaper and magazine media of the era.
The songs became my generation's tongue in cheek guidelines to live on the edge, to give in, to occasionally surrender to one's hedonistic desires with abandon. This album's songs would pave the way for future Stones classics culminating with Exile on Main Street.
When reviewing this album instead of deconstructing each song's lyrics and music I instead revisited the emotions that the music conjured inside of me for the past 40 or so years. It is a timeless example of the 1960's antithesis of the extraordinary music of The Beatles. Let it Bleed was just naughty enough to make me feel like I was the only one that they were writing for and they were showing me the way through my 20's and perhaps I too could have some really se#y, intense relationships that wouldn't last and that I would survive and even look back upon fondly.
Well the music endures but my naivete does not. This is a must have for anyone who admires the music of these talented, demented, surreal musicians. I am now 65 and have an 18 year old daughter for whom I am building an essential vinyl library and thus the purchase of her own copy. I am now 65 and have an 18 year old daughter for whom I am building an essential vinyl library and thus the purchase of her own copy. I have seen them perform now over a dozen times and took my daughter to see the Zip Code tour in Orlando. When they perform songs from this record, I revisit my youth and look back fondly upon the women who got the silver and the gold.
