This is the Swedish film upon which the U.S. version titled "Let Me In" is based. If you don't mind foreign films with subtitles, then this is a fantastic and unique vampire movie. Very similar to the U.S. version, but with some subtle differences.

I am not a fan of the horror genre, but Let the Right One In is one of the few exceptions. It is more a moody drama with horror elements than a strictly horror film. The character arcs are masterfully crafted, the winter setting is beautifully haunting, and the music is atmospheric and will have you wanting to listen to the score long after the credits roll.

This is one of the best modern horror films, and it has quickly become one of my favorite films, period. A lovely story of two outcasts who find each other, one of which happens to be a young vampire. It's a beautifully made film with heart, and just enough gore and unsettling moments to maintain it's legit vampire film status. Looks gorgeous on blu ray.

Super underrated movie. If you’re okay with subtitles then please watch this movie over the remake “Let Me In” you will not be disappointed. Especially if you’re a vampire fan.

A Magical Movie - Maybe the best I've ever seen

This near-perfect movie is from Sweden and has english subtitles. Don't let that bother you. Let The Right One In has a deep message. To call this movie a horror movie is not entirely true. A lonely boy named Oskar is constantly bullied at school by three boys who torment him without mercy. A new girl to the neighborhood, Eli takes an interest in Oskar despite her being different, she only comes out at night, dresses sloppily and isn't impacted by the cold, dark winter. Despite being unusual, in Eli Oskar finds a friend in whom he can confide his pain and who gives him hope. In Oskar, Eli finds a friend who learns her dark and lonely secret, yet who returns her kindness with affection of his own. This isn't just a horror movie. It's about loneliness and the need for people to know that someone in their life cares about them. Director Tomas Alfredson brilliantly and deftly draws the audience into this masterpiece with the help of flawless acting, excellent cinematography and a poignant, haunting movie score produced by Johan Soderqvist. I found myself caring about Oskar and Eli, wanting them to find some kind of happiness and hope in their tragic, painful and lonely world. Movies of this quality rarely come along and Let The Right One In already is one of the best movies I've ever seen, all genres included.

Before Chloe Grace Moretz stars in the US remake of this movie, do yourself a favor and see the original. While this is a vampire movie, this is not really a horror film. This movie is about friendship and love. The interaction between the two lead characters is very touching. The cinematography really helps tell the story and develop the intimacy of their relationship, and, while this is not a big budget movie, the effects are convincing. I recommend watching it in the original language with subtitles on, as opposed to with the English voice track. I highly recommend this movie.

I had never heard of this movie before and came across it at a rental store. I'm one of those that needs to see at least the preview before renting and now I'm thrilled I took the chance. I had never heard of a vampire story like this one before. I was amazed by the pure and innocent connection between the boy and the girl as they got to know one another. Taking into consideration that it is a low budget film, it kicked "Twilight's" a**.

The movie for me was a great alternative to the pop driven an badly acted 'Twilight'. LTROI on the otherhand comes with a fantastic cast and a storyline budding with excitement and anticipation. There have been some quarrels with the audio options on this version, but regardless i say take a gander and enjoy a great movie.

when a freind told me to watch this movie i was kind of skeptical but hey who isnt when a freind tell you to watch something or get something but i guess he was right this movie was good it kept you wanting more who though a young girl like the one in the movie could be so eerie but they pulled it off you kind feel sorry for the boy though since he gets picked on and his parents dont even know he there half the time all in all its got it gory parts and it has a couple funny parts it worth the watch but the only thing i wish they would do is make it a little cheaper

I saw this movie in late November and I haven't stop thinking about it since. Haunting and romantic all at once. Great acting by the two child stars who displayed a great onscreen chemistry rarely seen by more established actors. This is not your typical vampire or horror film. This is a work of art!

Odd movie. Basically a twelve year old boy that has been bulied all of his life meets a "twelve year old" vampire girl who moves in right next door to him. He shows her an act of kindness and then she begins to build his self esteem. He begins to fight off his bullies and fall in love with the girl. They both fight and kill for eachother. Odd. The english is a little rough. There are parts that just make you say 'huh?'. I don't recommend buying it but it's cool to see a Swedish horror movie and how they see vampires.
