I would have originally given this model 3* after getting it installed and then realizing the buttons were hard to push and hard to see because there is no light. Additionally it was missing features available on my 14-year-old microwave that should be standard on an item of this price over a decade later. And now after 1.5 years the display is flickering and I can't tell what time it is or how much longer my food has to cook, not to mention the annoyance of the constant blinking. I did some internet research and found this is a common problem resulting from a design defect. I had another appliance with an issue well after the warranty, but since it was a design defect they were willing to come out and do a repair at my home. Guess which brand I'm buying when I need to replace the rest of my appliances?!!!

The microwave has nice features, took a few times of testing the sense cook features to trust them even a little bit but overall they seem to work well, especially for popcorn. Unfortunately mine only worked for about 10 months. Stopped heating just before the 1-yr warranty was up, had LG service it which took a little over a month for that whole process and then it stopped working again after a half a dozen uses ( another couple weeks). Now it is past the warranty so not a good value on this purchase for me. Hopefully others had a different experience.

This was a replacement for the one that was delivered damaged. It was obvious that the damage had been before it was packaged. Local Best Buy store took care of the swap for a new one.

We are very pleased with this replacement microwave. The finger print proof black stainless is great. It’s powerful and has many preset heating options.

I modified it a little bit so that it can get the wind out from front.

We bought this unit to replace an over-the-range that was 16 years old. Needed decent sized interior, easy to clean, lots of cooking power, and working ventilation through the top. Got all that with this unit. It's sleek, works great, powerful. Enjoying it so far. 2 things keep it from getting 5 stars: The under-hood light is like a baby room night light, VERY dim. My old one had two nice, bright lights in it so it was useful when cooking. I remedied this by ordering a much brighter bulb from Amazon that came in pairs for $9. Easy fix, now much brighter. Second, the buttons on the keypad are VERY hard to push. No way will you accidentally ever turn this unit on, you have to LEAN IN and push hard to make anything happen. Not a deal-breaker, but annoying at times. Otherwise, loving it. Cooks very fast, quiet, and works as advertised. Black stainless is really sharp looking too.

To be fair, I loved my old microwave and did not want to replace it, but it was white and everything else in the kitchen is now stainless steel. My biggest complaint on this model is the touchpad. It seems to be slightly off center with everything. I find myself having to re-do a lot of the inputting for simple things. If I want to cook something on 70% for 2:30 I inevitably will have to push a button twice somewhere along the process to get it to register. We have used the "auto cook" (or "sensor") settings as well as some of the pre-programmed cooking options. My old nuker was a 5 yr old Whirlpool that also had sensor and pre-programmed cooking options. The nice thing about the Whirlpool was I could hit COOK then cycle through the different pre-programmed settings via the display screen. With this LG unit I have to review the sticker inside the unit before closing the door to know what keypad combination to enter. For example, if I wanted to heat soup in the Whirlpool, I would close the door, hit COOK and the display would say "Press 1 for Pizza, 2 for Soup, etc." With the LG, I need to look at the sticker inside before I close the unit and reference "Soup = Cook + 2" The range light on this LG is not very bright compared to other models. More of a nightlight than a stove light. The unit comes with a rack, which is nice but we probably will use it twice in our lifetime. The rotating plate is nice and large. The interior seems to clean up nicely. Food heats quickly and evenly (to the extent that any microwave cooks evenly). Sensor cooking seems to be set well. I am not sure what the "Energy Saving" button does other than it turns off the display until you use the microwave again. In the end, I wouldn't "recommend" the unit because I think you can get a more "friendly" unit for the same price. At the same time I think that this unit more than meets the needs of the average individual and it prepares food adequately.

Works well, looks good. Cons: a little noisy. Light is only on/off. Should have hi/low/off. Keypad is very hard to read.

We bought this microwave to replace our previous LG that went out. We wanted something simple that was able to meet our needs and in our price range. This one hit the mark. Overall it was easy to install and looks great in our kitchen. The only things i would recommend be improved on the next model are, the interior light is not bright enough and the buttons have to be pushed pretty firmly. Other than those 2 things, the microwave is great.

It’s a good quality, good sized, and powerful microwave. There are no “smart” features, but I actually consider that a plus as it doesn’t add any costs for features I would never use. But it has a good feature set. I used this to replace a Kenmore Elite that failed after 18 years. After discovering that the Kenmore was actually made by LG, this item was a natural. It even made installation very easy.

I really like my LG 1.8 cu ft over-the-range microwave. The exterior and interior are very easy to clean and the extensive cooking features and options are exactly what I was looking for. The smaller size fits my space perfectly and the overall appearance looks like a decorator's choice. Although I could not find this information at Best Buy or other retailer internet sites, this microwave vents both to the inside and outside including outside roof and wall venting.

Nice value for the money. Easy to use and lots of power. Only criticism is the buttons require significant force. Attractive and functional

It's performing well for us so far. We like its simple, clean lines. We also like that it persistently reminds you when the cooking is done. (We have a tendency to forget things are in the microwave.) And the "Add 30 seconds" feature is helpful. One issue: You have to push very hard to activate the buttons.
