Customers are impressed with the spaciousness, adjustable shelves, and ice maker of the 27.6 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator. They appreciate the design, French doors, and lighting as well. However, some customers have experienced issues with the compressor breaking down after the warranty expires, noise, fingerprint smudges, and the refrigerator being expensive.

I purchase my LG Ultra Capacity French Door Refrig..in the beginning of December...and I just can't say enough great things about this Refrigerator. I owned a Maytag for years, but this refrigerator really is so much better. I love the huge area to put all your items and the very bright light so you can see everything in your frig. each time you open the door. No more searching for things hidden on the lower shelves..this is Awesome. It also has a special water dispenser that we can fill up large containers from the door...Yahoo!!! The freezer is huge and fits almost as much as my chest freezer. I LOVE this product.

After several issues with another fridge, we switched to this one and it's been great. It got cold much faster than the manual warned and we love almost everything about it. The only "problems" we have with it are: 1-Ice cubes are tiny so they melt super fast in drinks (but they are cute!) 2-The door that doesn't have the icemaker often doesn't close all the way without an extra push (very thankful for the alarm that alerts us when it's happened)

Overall I’m pretty happy with this purchase. The refrigerator is huge and the freezer holds a ton. The drawback to this refrigerator is that it fingerprints like crazy and I can imagine that the mullion will be broken within a few months if you have kids.

The only thing that threw us off was the water/ice dispenser, however, once we figure it out we appreciate the design of a separate trigger for the water and ice.

I bought this refrigerator due to all the high reviews. I was looking for a French door version and this one seemed great. It has a lot of room. I like the slide out drawer in the refrigerator section and the freezer section. I like having the ice maker in the door panel, so it does not take up excessive room in the refrigerator. Things went smoothly for app. 3 months. Then I noticed water leaking out below the sliding drawer in the refrigerator. I removed the sliding drawer to find the bottom of the refrigerator was full of ice and water. It is no longer cooling in the refrigerator section properly, continuing to drip water everywhere. I have been battling with LG for a month to fix it. Their scheduling department takes weeks to respond. They came out twice to fix it but it is still doing the same problem. I have called again repeatedly and they continue to tell me that someone from scheduling will get with me to have a repairman come out. In the meantime, I am without a functioning refrigerator for 4 weeks!! If this product actually worked, I would give it 4 stars. However, due to all the issues with the defrost setting not working, the top not cooling, water and ice leaking...and LG's poor customer service, I have to warn anyone away from purchasing this product.

LG is better than Samsung or KitchenAid

The LG was the 5th refrigerator we got after our initial purchase. The Pacific Sales people were spectacular in trying to accommodate our needs. I highly recommend the PS people at the Bakersfield Rosedale Hwy store. Spectacular. Our initial purchase was a Samsung. Apparently, Samsung uses chainsaw motors to power the refrigerators. Both Samsungs were so noisy as to interrupt our peace and quiet. We next got a KitchenAid. It was very quiet. But, the doors did not hang evenly and they did not close to the same amount (one door stuck out). The right side door did not always close either. Even after a technician came out and tried to fix the doors they were incorrect. So, they brought out another KitchenAid. I refused this one on the truck since the doors apparently had the same problem. It appears that when KitchenAid makes parts for their units the engineers all work on different pieces, in different places, and they do not communicate. My son has the same unit and I noticed that his has the same problems. The KA also had the most nonsensical interior setup I have ever seen. You really can’t adjust the racks because the door pieces hit the racks (or drawers). The units are really engineered poorly. So, last we went with the LG. The LG is not as quiet as KA, but, it is much quieter than the Samsung. It occasionally makes some noise but it is not very annoying. The interior shelves can be moved somewhat and it is very easy to see what you want to get. The ice maker is a very small volume model which allows less intrusion into the refrigerator. It works well for us but if you use a ton of ice it might not be so good. They do give you an ice storage bin that you can put in the freezer area. My other son has the same refrigerator and that is what they do. The doors close cleanly and crisply and there is no question that they are shut. Overall, I am pleased with LG. My three sons have a Samsung, KitchenAid, and LG. Their Samsung and KA models have the same problems I detailed above. The best refrigerator is the LG. Again, I cannot state how much effort the staff at Pacific Sales put into making us happy. This was not only the store people (Dave, Denise, Brandon, Louie and others) but also one of their delivery/setup teams (Mike R and John). If you really want first class setup service – ask for Mike & John.

I'll start off with praising and condemning the Price Match. We purchased this fridge without price shopping because of this guarantee. The Fridge went on sale the next weekend after purchase for $200 less. BB took care of that with a phone call. 29 days later, the fridge went on sale for an additional $300 off. However, when I bought the fridge, I was only a 'core' member, not 'elite', so I only had a 15 day price match and return policy. So, don't pay more than $1750 for this fridge. The fridge has been great. Reviews on all similar fridges always had some 1 stars for folks who just had a bad experience or bad product. When there weren't a lot of those, we chalked that up to lemons. After about a month, the fridge is working great. We really like the ice maker in the door. It saves the space on the shelf for the maker. Plenty of adjustable shelves. We love the deep freezer bay. Looks like the water filter is an easy replacement. (Haven't had to try that yet) The only complaint would be door shelf space for condiments and such because of the ice maker. But, we were aware of that going in. We had qualified for free delivery. The guys were courteous and did a great job of hooking up the fridge.

We switched from a 15 yr old side-by-side to this LG and have no complaints. I am still getting used to "piling" all the food in the freezer as opposed to laying it out on shelves which, for now, means a few extra seconds to find stuff. The unit is VERY quiet. The icemaker in the door means a TON of room in the fridge. As a result, it always looks like we need to go shopping! The icemaker makes enough ice for our daily use (family of 4). The water dispenser could be a bit colder but it comes on with a momentary pause (which is good if you bump it accidentally or meant to get ice instead) and shuts off the instant you remove your glass. My only regret is the wide fridge drawer below the fruit and veggie drawers. Given you need to open both doors to the fridge to access that double-wide drawer, I now wish I would have just purchased the model where that drawer pulls out independently (like the freezer drawer). Everything about the fridge so far seems to be of solid quality. Shelves are strong, no sliding drawers have fall off their tracks, etc. We have not needed the "hide-a-way" half-shelf yet but did re-arrange the shelves a few times until we found the perfect layout for our needs. Like all stainless (this is our first experience with them), fingerprints are an issue but we just keep a spray bottle of vinegar solution nearby and wipe down the door every couple days. We originally picked a Samsung fridge based on friends' and family recommendations. Upon inspection at the store, the equivalent Samsung model lost a lot of fridge space due to the placement of the icemaker as compared to the LG icemaker. Additionally, the Samsung drawers seemed "flimsy" in comparison to the sliders on the LG. In the end, LG's 10-yr compressor warranty convinced us to switch brands as we bundled and outfitted our entire kitchen with LG stainless steel products. Hopefully we get double that out of the life of this fridge.

The ice machine is very slim, does not take up much space in refrigerator. Lighting is led so very bright and lights up every space well. We went from a side by side to the French doors and we love the space in the fridge. Freezer is a bit different so just have to get used to the drawer. Overall very happy with purchase.

Great Upgrade / Didn't know we had a small kitchen

Last Fridge lasted 18 years, was dripping from the inside. We were lucky to find this great product as an open box item, other than a small dent on the front its perfect. Magnets now go on the side. We liked that the shelves were separate and you could adjust individually. No more bending down and crawling on the floor looking for something that can easily get lost, everything is visible, we like the ice maker and water dispenser. The ice tray inside the pull out freezer does not make ice from there. For 3 of us, crushed ice is plenty. I did add an external 3 year filter. Instead of getting one for the inside at $45. last only 6 months. Measure all of you access to the kitchen doorways, Getting through one doorway took off some drywall and paint. I told the men, just get it in I'll repair, since our old fridge was already on the truck. They did break off 2 plastic freezer glides, but works fine minus the 1" that broke.. Did have to remove cabinets above the fridge to fit, we never could reach in there anyway.

Love it! The Geek Squad guys were very professional during delivery. I love the space I have in the fridge and how easy it is to move the shelves around and to visualize all produce. The freezer is also great, very spacious. Love the ice maker and water in the door. The water actually tastes real good! I had an older white traditional fridge and this is an awesome updgrade for us. We had fewer options because of space limitations and height, since we have a counter on top of it. We have so much more room now! The only down side I think is that I feel I slam the door. Since they are lighter smaller doors I haven't learned how to open or close them glently yet. 100% recommend it and would buy it again. Thanks Best Buy!

Best refrigerator we've had in years

I have 5 kids, living in Texas, so we needed a refrigerator that could withstand the in and out nature of 5 kids opening the door every 15 minutes as well as the heat in our kitchen. Past refrigerators have not fared well, and this is our 3rd purchase in 10 years. Our kitchen gets really warm in both the summer and winter months, as we do not have central heating and cooling, but window unit air conditioners and one gas space heater that heats the whole house but is installed in the kitchen. So far, the LG has kept pace beautifully. Produce is lasting 1-2 weeks, where it used to be ready for the trash in 3 days. Everything seems to stay fresher longer, and the temp stays consistent even with frequent opening. I have seen complaints about the ice maker, but I only ran into a problem on Thanksgiving when we had 20 people here. Otherwise, there has always been plenty of ice for the 7 people in our household. All around a great product!

I spent a fair amount of time researching french door/bottom freezers to replace our 14 year old Whirlpool side by side that finally needed to be retired. Overall, for the money, I am pretty pleased with the unit so far. I am not entirely sold on the whole "door-in-door" craze that everyone seems to jumping into these days (both the manufactures and consumers). From what I have personally noticed, the "door-in-door" models often sacrifice some cooling capacity/temperature variations in the modified door areas, not to mention cost at least several hundred dollars more for essentially the same total storage capacity. Those models also seem to get "gimmicky" after a few time of always having to press a button to access the different compartments, not to mention its a lot of plastic parts to potentially wear/down and break as those units get older. This fridge seems to be operating quietly, cools quickly, and evenly for the past few weeks. It won't break the bank. As far as cons go, the doorwater dispenser is a bit annoying to use since the way the tubing is set on the edge, you literally have to press your glass almost directly onto the dispenser tip or risk shooting water down your glass or on the floor. Also the ice maker is literally a small plastic tray that self empties tiny cubes in a relatively small ice bin that does take longer that normal to fill up (if you manage to use all of it). The bottom freezer plastic drawers seem a little on the cheap side, but sturdy enough for now. Only time will tell if this will hold up. I bought the extended warranty just to cover the bases, as the LG support can be notoriously all over the place when it comes to parts/service requests on their products.
