    Love this washer.

I just replaced my front load washer with this one and could not be happier. I can see already it is doing a better job of cleaning. It is much quieter than my previous washer. I kind of wish I had gone with the larger model, but getting a smaller unit was high on my list of objectives so can't complain about that. That is part of the appeal of this one it frees up a lot of space in my laundry room. As soon as my current dryer gives out I will be replacing it with the unit that matches this washer. I highly recommend this product!!!! Very pleased!

Does not Live Up to Promise

One major and two minor problems with this washer. The major one is that it will not wash with hot water. It has a "hot" setting, but this mixes about half hot and half cold water. What makes it even worse is that after the first few minutes of washing, additional water is added to the tub, and this is 100% cold water. I thought that something was wrong with my machine, so I had an LG repairman come to look at it. He measured the temperature of the water after the initial fill and found it to be 97 F. He said that this is the correct temperature, and even called LG to comfirm his claim. Some things, such as bedding and diapers should be washed in water that is 130 F or higher, which is what is considered "hot". A temperature of 97 F is "warm" by most standards. A partial solution is two keep the cold water turned off until the initial fill is complete, but it has to be on for the secondary fill, which still means no hot wash. The first minor problem is that there is no liquid detergent cup, so the detergent immediately starts to drip on the articles in the washer. This could be a problem if using the "delay wash" feature, as concentrated detergent would sit in spots on the fabric until the wash cycle starts. It is interesting that the manual mentions the liquid detergent cup in a couple of places, and in one place even says to be sure that it is in place. But when I contacted LG, they said no cup is used in this model. The second minor problem is that LG was too agressive in water saving. If the default water level is used, then the articles in the load do not move enough to be cleaned. I saw this in the first load that I did. It had 4 pair of men's slacks and a number of socks. A section of the waist band of one of the slacks never got into the water. The second load had 10 sport shirts. Two of the shirts started on the top of the load and stayed on top during the entire wash cycle. Needless to say, they were not clean. By using the "water plus" feature, a larger amount of water is used, and things move around more during the wash cycle. So far, the cleaning results have been satisfactory when using "water plus". You don't save as much water, but it is still a lot less than a conventional machine. Some reviews complain of the load getting out of balance. I have run into this only once. The load consisted of 3 flannel shirts and a pair of heavy socks. The 3 shirts got their sleeves all tangled together and became like a single heavy item. The high efficency washing machine is a great idea, but this version has not done it right.

    OK, so I'm "cheap"

My washer of 20 years finally gave it up. I'm frugal. Could not get parts etc. so I decided to actually let the moths out of my wallet and get a new one. Did a ton of research and found the times have changed (remember skis? "No sir, they all come shaped like that now"). Cleans, easy to use, easy to install. To get really tough stains out (blood etc.) do what you've always done: pre-treat and scrub a little.

I love this washer. I have had no issues whatsoever with cleaning my clothes, they come out smelling fresh and clean. I pretreat any stains and they come out. I will say that I am less than 5 feet tall so getting clothes out would be a problem - I use a long set of tongs to reach the bottom of the drum!

    Cleans well but...

This is a good machine overall - a lot of people like it. The deal killer for us was the following: - Machine is 2 inches taller than most and the tub is several inches deeper than most resulting in difficult access to retrieve cloths from the bottom of the tub. - In a well lit room, the indicator lights on the control are dim and barely visible. - The end of cycle chime is soft and could not be heard in another room of the house. - Wrinkles cloths a bit more than a front loader.

    High INefficiency washer

VERY DISAPPOINTED in the new washer. They ought to label it "high INefficiency" washing machine. I had to wash the first load twice, since the first time around, half the clothes came out of the machine half dry - i.e. never got wet, never got washed. Low water levels meant some pants only got washed on one leg or only on the front but the back was dry as a bone - and not clean. The only thing it's good at is spinning clothes so they don't even come out damp - but I don't think it cleans - and they are VERY WRINKLED compared to my old style washing machine they hauled away.

    Does not clean well

I looked at all the reviews before making my purchase and felt confident buying this machine. Big mistake! I want my clothes clean, not just swished around in semi soapy semi warm water. I compared two cleaning cloths that I had used on my floors, one washed in the old agitator machine and one in the new no agitator, energy efficient machine. Huge difference! The new machine just didn't clean well. I tried every possible cycle combinations and no difference. We purchased the agitator style and have clean clothes again. We are returning this machine. I'm all about energy efficient, but I also wash my clothes expecting them to come clean.

    Never Again

We purchased this washer 6 months ago and it has been nothing but disappointing. The washer never uses enough water unless you use the bulky wash option, it doesn't wash out dirt and oils completely. The wash time varies from 30 minutes to 120 minutes depending on the wash cycle selected. I can only fill my tub 1/2 ways and use the bulky wash option in order to get my clothes decently cleaned (110 minutes). When placing bleach in the bleach bin it spill directly onto my dry clothes so I must wait for my tub to fill prior to adding bleach to my load. While watching it during the wash cycle the agitator doesn't appear to complete agitate my clothes. My clothes come out smelling as bad as when they went in. And I am using Tide HE and Downy. Worst investment ever!!

    Had to return it

I have never written a product review before on any purchase. But, this machine sucks!! I have watched the videos on how to load it etc, but our laundry still comes out dirtier than it goes it. Somehow it doesn't clean properly, and all the hairs and fluff etc just gets distributed throughout the rest of the clothes. After we wash and dry it, we have to spend time getting all the stuff off that the clothes have picked up during the cycle. Back it goes....good riddance!
