    Disappointed in my LG Washer

The washer (WM2501HA) and dryer I purchased were my first LG appliances. I had been happy with them until the drain pump in the washer failed in just over 4 years. I contacted LG and they provided me with the names of their 3 recommended service providers in the Grand Rapids, MI area but all of them were unreliable. I finally gave up on LG's recommendations, called Sears and 2 days later my machine was repaired. I spoke to LG a couple times and submitted a written complaint. At the very least I thought they might follow up with me since the washer failed in less than 5 years and their service network was unreliable but I have not heard from them.

    Dont Buy This W&D

We have had the LG Front Load W&D for 4 yrs and have always had a problem. You have to constantly clean the drum, filter and detergent dish. I've had to unscrew and remove part of the dryer to clean the lint area properly. Despite having the black tie service, the service team resists coming out to your house and will instead diagnose everything over the phone and you have to you fix it yourself. Keep your old top load W&D if you can.

    Had to Take it back

I had to return this item in exchange for a Samsung Washer, but I don't believe the washer was at fault--- the unit shook violently in the spin cycle but it turns out the person who installed my Washer did not remove the shipping bolts---make sure you remove those bolts or else you might end up with a walking washer!

    Only for VERY Small Loads

Got this machine delivered yesterday, as a replacement for a Maytag front-loader that was damaged in a flood. This machine gets stuck in the spin cycle every time! The vibration detection appears to be so sensitive that it will not let the machine spin unless the load is perfectly spaced and balanced. Do yourself a favor and do an internet search for "LG washer keeps spinning". This has to be the WORST appliance I have ever purchased, we will see how Best Buy handles the situation later today when I ask them to come remove this and the matching dryer (which leaks during the steam cycle) from my home and refund my money.

2 Costly Repairs in 4 Years - Unreliable

This will be my review of LG products - as the unproud owner of an LG washer who happens to be without a proof of purchase. Please share this with the Executive Team. They will be able to locate this review on websites selling LG washers such as Best Buy, Sears, etc. Review Title:2 Costly Repairs in 4 Years - Unreliable I would not purchase an LG product. I have had to pay for 2 out-of-warranty repairs on an LG WM2050 front-load washer that is less than 4 yrs old. The first repair cost over $200. At the time, I did not contact LG. I hoped it was a random issue. The second repair is likely to be much or more. LG will not cover the cost of the repair because I am unable to locate my receipt. I even offered to pay for the part(s) if they paid for the service technician. Aside from the repairs, we must leave the door open to prevent a "musty" smell. Periodic cleansing did not help eliminate the odor. If we leave the door open all of the time, there is no odor. I don't know if all front-loaders develop such smells, but I would recommend a traditional top-load machine....from another manufacturer other than LG.

    Easy to use

Got this after my old front loader quit. Picked this one because I can customize my wash with temperature, spin and soil level. Liked that I could have cold water for normal, permanent press and delicates. Haven't tried the steam yet. After a glitch in the delivery, Best Buy worked hard at making it right. No complaints here and now thinking about getting the dryer.

We bought a new house and got the matching washer and dryer. We had a whirlpool around the same price point but this LG is much better. We use the sanitize setting for hot water washing. Our whites have never been whiter and towels have not been cleaner.

This washer has been in service for 4.5 years and it's been leaking for the last 6 months. It has a small hole in the gasket around the door and from the volume lately I think it also has a tear in a drain hose. It's ridiculously expensive to have it fixed in Los Angeles. The LG washer received 2 stars rather than 1 because it is great at washing clothes. It's a rock star in that respect, but it could use to be made with higher quality parts.

Living in the Alaska Bush makes it impossible for me to return the washer but I hate it. Not enough water goes into the machine to get my clothes clean, even to the degree of not dissolving the laundry pods I have been using. Every load I am have to rinse two or 3 times to ensure I do not pull the clothes out of the washer with pod soap still present.

    Stay away from these washers

So terribly disappointed in my purchase; these require constant wiping of the door glass and gasket to prevent leaking out of the front. Even the slightest bit of lint or a strand of hair can create a gap such that water will seep out. Terrible design, and I regret my purchase after only having these for three months.

Already out of balance requiring repair w a minimum cost of $200 by LG. Geek Squad was going to be higher cost. I believe this will be my last front loader. The previous Kenmore Elite lasted three years and to replace part alone was $500+labor. My appliance repairman said this is a continuing problem with this unit.

    Horrible!

This is the worst product I ever purchased. This washer is not consistent you have to have a certain amount of clothing in the washer for different cycles. If you don't select the right cycle for the amount of clothing you are washing this washer will stay on forever!

When the machine adds water it sounds like someone is knocking a sledge hammer against the house. It is VERY loud. This was never a problem with previous washers.

Works OK for a little while then it starts to be very noisy and as soon as warranty is up it stops draining water. I cleaned filter and everything but no draining.
