Uses far less electricity than comparable models in same size class making it a huge selling point to me. 4K and Smart features weren't a necessity so I sprung for this particular LG. Very happy with the picture, sound, and design. Recommended for a spare TV, especially at this price point of $300

Best TV 49" for $299

Since I had an extra Apple TV, the lack of "smart TV" wasn't an issue. The TV has good image quality, nice settings in terms of image and sound. The interface is a little outdated, but it works fine.
