Awesome. Load and go. Come back all done. Really does a great job and space saving is the key
This review is from LG - 5.0 Cu. Ft. HE Smart Mega Capacity All-in-One Electric Washer/Dryer WashCombo with Steam and Ventless Inverter Heat Pump - Graphite Steel

After we started using it in Feb 2024, up tp today (date of this review which is Nov 22, 2024), here are our observations Cons: 1) drying takes at least 3 hours, even if it is just for a small load; 2) our monthly electricity bill is a lot higher now compared to our bills using old washer and dryer; 3) it often encounters an "error" leading to not finishing a cycle; 4) it is broken now and could not be used (just after few months of using it). It says there is something with the drainage although there is actually nothing wrong with its drainage after i checked several times. Pros: 1) space saver.

Hi, Rwyn. Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with us regarding your LG Wash Combo (WM6998HBA) model. We understand your concern about dealing with multiple issues in such a short time, especially with drying performance, energy usage, and the error you're encountering. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations. For the drying time, we recommend checking if the load size is too large or too small, as this can sometimes affect drying efficiency. Additionally, ensure that the vents and filters are clear, as blockages can also impact performance. For more information, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-washer-dryer-combo-troubleshooting-poor-drying--1337696273691. Regarding the error and drainage issue, even though you’ve checked the drainage, sometimes a sensor malfunction can cause the system to misread it. We suggest performing a reset or checking the drain pump for any possible obstructions that might be affecting the cycle.
Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and our team will be happy to assist you with troubleshooting and explore any warranty or repair options to get your unit back up and running.
We appreciate your patience and are here to help. ^Juvy

Greatest decision ever made. I love the wash all on one. Put your clothes in and then next morning are ready for you. Silent wash and dry. Multiple settings great on saving electricity.

I thoroughly researched combo washer/dryers before buying this unit, and knew that it was a bit of a bleeding edge product. My expectation was that I'd keep it for maybe 3 years then see if it was worth buying an upgraded model. I stopped using it after 6 months, and today I had it hauled away as trash. Our primary complaint with the unit itself was that permanent press would always come out heavily wrinkled. We knew drying would take longer. We knew that towels might not come out completely dry. But having your clothes come out wrinkled was a real problem. But that alone wasn't enough for us to write it off. In addition to the wrinkled clothes, maintenance on this unit is a REAL PAIN. If you have a standard washer & dryer set, you're used to running a cleaning cycle on the washer and cleaning the lint filter on the dryer. That's true of this unit also. But you also have to regularly drain water and check a second filter at the very bottom of the washer. And about once every 1-2 weeks, you have to go through a difficult cleaning process of the filter compartment that's on top of the washer. To do this, you have to remove 6 screws, a plastic flange and two plastic screens. You have one typical dryer vent that you have to clean out with a brush — that's fairly easy. But then you have to take a nylon brush (not provided and hard to find online) and clean the condenser fins — I grabbed a picture of this from the manual and am attaching it. I think I have average-to-large hands, and it was very difficult to get the brush into every nook and cranny where you could definitely see lint build-up. If you don't keep this cleaned out regularly... well, I don't know what happens but I'm guessing it's not good. The permanent press issue was very annoying because I don't particularly care for ironing my shirts. But this routine and difficult maintenance was the dealbreaker. LG needs to redesign access to this compartment — it needs to have a wider opening so it's easier to access the condenser area, and you need to be able to do it without a screwdriver. It's ridiculous that routine cleaning of a lint filter involves screws! I really wanted to like this product. I have an LG washer/dryer set in the basement that I'm quite happy with, but I was getting tired of hauling all the laundry down-and-up two flights of stairs. The prospect of being able to add laundry upstairs and only having to get water lines installed made this a very tempting product. But it just has some issues that need to be resolved before it can be considered reasonable to use. One other comment: I bought this with the optional pedestal storage unit. Unless you are a very tall person, don't do it. If you think cleaning out that filter on top of the unit is a pain, try doing it if you're under 6 feet tall. It's awkward. So, counting the unit and the pedestal storage, I basically spent about $2K for something I used for 6 months and then threw away. I've now had a 240V outlet run upstairs and today my plumber installed a dryer vent so that I can have a conventional washer/dryer set installed. I had the plumber haul it away — I told him he was free to keep it or give it away to someone who could use it but I didn't want to sell it because I couldn't do so in good conscience. I wouldn't sell something that I don't recommend, and I do not recommend this product.

Serious struggle to get the clothes to come out dry. Most times I have to run an extra dry only cycle. Wish I would have purchased the pedestal because getting clothes out is a pain without it. Can't put anything on top of it because of condensation and where the lint trap is. Not very happy.

We have been using the first one we bought for almost 2 years and lived it so much when we remodeled our bathroom and laundry room we set it up for another washer! Great to be able to throw a load in the morning and it’s ready to get put away by the time you get home from work. *****BIG TIP******* MAKE SURE ALL THREE FILTERS ARE CLEAN. Takes 5 seconds and will make sure you don’t have issues

I absolutely love this machine! I've had it about 3 months now and would never go back to a standard washer dryer set. It's just me so my loads are typically small but it handles my large (queen and king size) blankets just fine. 2 hours from start to finish and it automatically dispenses my softener and detergent. Occasionally i need to fluff and continue drying the bigger blankets but thats typical with most dryers I've used. Its in my storage shed for the time being but its awesome its a standard outlet-i didnt realize this when i purchased so that was exciting to find out. I was super hesitant but im so glad i went with this machine. Chefs kiss!

A quiet machine, washes very well, dries well depending on the amount of clothes, and you can program everything through the LG app. I had some errors with the machine, but after updating the app, the issues stopped. Definitely one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

This is great because it takes up so little space. The only downside is the dry cycle takes a long time - usually about four hours if it's a full load - but I can live with that.

This washer dryer combo is amazing. Very easy to understand and use. Love that you load it with laundry and co.e back in 2 hours or a little bit more depending on type of koad to clean dry clothes. The app makes it easy to check on status of washer and sends you a message when laundry is done.

Do not recommend this combined washer and dryer . I got it because of limited space. Not, worth to buy it because of how many hours it takes for ONE load of laundry. It takes Almost 6 HOURS . With regular washer and dryer, I could it easily do 4 loads of laundry with that time . Because while I dry I could do another load of washing. Don’t waste your time and money on this one . I returned it after a week . The new washer that, I got it’s way better and the clothes looks actually clean and colorful VS this one that the clothes will come out dry , with wrinkles and without color because of the hours the clothes was been washed . And it’s 100 electric imagine 6 hours of electric bill for ONE LOAD of clothing .

Hello there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us regarding the LG 5.0 Cu. Ft. HE Smart All-in-One Electric Washer/Dryer WashCombo (Model: WM6998HBA). We understand that the long cycle times did not meet your expectations. We appreciate you providing us with this feedback about the unit's performance and the time it took to complete a single load.
We understand your inquiry that the wash and dry cycles on an all-in-one unit can take longer compared to using separate appliances, as the unit must complete both processes consecutively. This model uses a ventless heat pump technology, which is designed to be highly energy efficient, though the drying process naturally takes more time than a traditional vented dryer.

Great product. Saved electricity on drying, you have to be vigilant on a cleaning routine weekly for optimal results but worth it.
