Horrible machine. Don't buy it. Started rusting within a year. The hinge on the lid broke less than a year and a half of purchase. This was my third LG washing machine. The last one WT 7800 lasted almost 5 years, which I thought at the time was bad. Little did I know that it could get worse...

Hi, Jacob. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG Washer (WT7900HWA) model. We understand your concern about the rusting and the broken hinge, especially after your past experience with the WT7800 model. We aim to provide top-notch products and ensure a smooth experience.
To help prevent rusting, we recommend wiping the detergent dispenser and the rubber seals around the lid dry after each use. This can help prevent moisture buildup. We also recommend that the lid be closed gently to ensure the hinges are not placed under unnecessary stress. My first time ever writing a review for an appliance. I’ve had this machine less than a week and it already doesn’t work. I’m not sure if this will allow video uploads, but I have numerous showing how many times it’s failed in under a week. Best Buy.. LG.. I have proof. The machine will not complete a full cycle. Multiple times during the cycle it will stop its self and unlock the lid. Then it will tell you that the cycle cannot be completed because the lid is not locked. Ok. So each time you have to press the start button again. It’ll try to resume then a few more minutes later and… it stops itself and unlocks the lid and requires the start button to be pressed again. Most of the times even with doing this it will not finish a full cycle, BUT even when it does complete a full cycle there is about 3 inches of water remaining. It never drains the water out. I’ve been having to wring out the water from my items my hand. Let me tell you.. that’s super fun to do with blankets. (Eye roll). Anything I try to wash comes out soaked like I just pulled it up out of a swimming pool. What an absolute nightmare. PLEASE take this product back and refund ALL of my money.

If i could rate zero stars i would! Purchased this washer online; It was delivered today absolutely disgusting on the inside of the drum. Best buy apparently attempted to pass off a used washer as new. There was grime all over the drum and caked on detergent! To make matter worse, customer service was unhelpful to say the least.

Washer delivered broken without original packaging. There was no description in the product saying it is open box or damaged product. Anyway It seems to be working and we didnt want the hassle of returning and reinstalling it. So we just decided to use it. One star goes to Best buy not to LG.

Terrible, We do not recommend. It has damaged several linens. The technician says we need to have at least 4 service calls for best buy to consider a return. So far it has damaged at least 8 linens we use for our small business.

So far we are loving our new washer. Loving even more that the clearance price we paid went even cheaper during our Geek Squad membership’s extended 60 day price match guarantee window. It saved us an additional $144 to pop into the Best Buy app periodically to see where the price was during their Holiday sale events. (More than worth the cost of membership in our opinion). We’re still getting used to it. Must say the app is handy: Let’s you know when it’s running, when the cycle is complete, and it monitors and notifies you of an unbalanced load or water intake issues. Its main Pro is also a Con. This top loader is so deep, even a 6ft tall man has to cozy up and fully extend his arm to actually reach the bottom to unload!! If you are a petite person be forewarned you may need a step stool nearby. We bought this model for the extra large capacity and water saving cycles. Now we’re using way less detergent and water. The savings will certainly add up. My suggestion is to watch YouTube videos about best practices to load smaller loads or bulky items as it WILL get unbalanced if you don’t pay attention when loading. The lack of an old fashioned center agitator makes loading bulky items way easier! Overall we’ve had no issues during this first month of using it for a family of four
Going on two years, this is a great machine. We had a front loader from another brand that didn't make it past two years without constant problems, never again. I was skeptical about a top loader, but the reviews I read about this one made me give it a chance. It's loaded with features including downloadable cycles you can add using the app on your phone. It will even lets you know when the machine is done. It's got a huge capacity and does a great job.

I bought this washing machine based on advice from Best Buy and after returning my GE Profile which was a beautiful sapphire blue but damaged all my clothes and didn't clean, And was pretty loud. But this one is very quiet and clean clothes pretty good although it doesn't take out all the stains that my old washing machine did, unfortunately they don't make that model anymore, but overall I have been pretty happy with this purchase, I've had it for almost a month now and no issues, simply to use and good choice of setting selections. I haven't quite figured out how to start it with the additional setting Cycles in the app, but that does let me know when it's done so that's nice. It's also pretty deep however when I washed too small blankets I noticed that it started shaking a little and I don't want the machine to get off balance so I only watch one at a time although it's supposed to have the ability to wash bigger loads. Washing a load of towels I put in eight towels, 12 washcloths and 2 hand towels and it had no problems. My machine would not wash more than six towels at a time and with the big family it is great to be able to wash bigger loads. I will not receive the dryer until January 30th which has been an extra long wait, but I'm hopeful it will work as good as the washer.

I’ve been using this washer for a few years now and I’m genuinely impressed. It handles large loads effortlessly, runs super quiet, and my clothes come out cleaner and fresher than ever. The sleek design is a bonus, and the controls are very user-friendly. Definitely one of the best appliances I’ve purchased in a long time!

Great Washer. My only complaint is that there are NO instructions that come with this to hook up to WIFI and use. I've been unable to connect to our WIFI to use these options. There should be a quick guide with this, but there isn't. Thank goodness for YOUTUBE! I was able to figure out how to switch from warm wash to cold wash and other features. NOTHING came with this explaining how to use this machine. Washes clothes very well. Quiet and holds a lot and still cleans well.

Great washer. I was skeptical to replace my 25+ year old Maytag washer - but it finally came to the end of its days. You hear so many complaints from people buying new washers and dryers that nowadays they are basically junk compared to ones built 20 or more years ago. Well this washer has exceeded my expectations. It washes great, it’s easy to use and it is super quiet. Clothes come out noticeably cleaner than from my previous washer. This washer wasn’t cheap - but after using it for a few months, I would say that it was totally worth it.

Fantastic capacity. Can handle almost double the capacity of prior front loader. Quiet operation. Bought this washer to replace a front loading model that just could not be kept odorless and lacked sufficient capacity to wash king size blankets and sheets efficiently. Only odd thing… When washing a large blanket on heavy duty cycle, sometimes the spin cycle will not operate due to an in balance. However, you can use the same blanket on normal cycle it handles it and spins it no problem…

Bought this washer two years ago and still is the best washer we’ve ever had. Love the high capacity in a small footprint. I use the sanitizing wash cycles for towels, dog beds, and underwear. My husband loves the turbo wash cycle to get his very dirty work clothes clean quickly. There are plenty of wash cycle options. Very efficient, reliable, and easy to use. Capacity is amazing, fits King sized quilts and blankets easily. We don’t use comforters on our King bed, so I can’t speak to that, but it definitely accommodates Queen comforters.

After my older Samsung washer died, I began researching the latest and greatest brands and models. Everywhere I turned, the LG was rated highest overall. I've had the washer for a couple of weeks with no issues. I'm very pleased with how big the wash tub is; I can wash twice as much as with my old washer, and yet the clothes come out very clean! Due to the fast spin rate at the end of the wash, I've also noticed that they come out drier than with my old washer, and that's translating to faster drying time. All-in-all, I'm exceedingly pleased with its performance. If anything changes, I'll come back and amend this review.

I've had this for a couple of months and am quite happy with the purchase. It is quiet and does its job very well. I had a front=loading washer before and it was hard to keep clean. I'm optimistic that this will be easier to manage. Programming is fairly intuitive and great capacity. I'm 5'3' and it's deep, so I have to stretch to get items off the bottom, but it isn't unmanageable. Good purchase so far

Had to buy a new washer and dryer after 25 years and the sales associate recommend this brand and set given the discount. Still getting used to all the upgrades, but definitely liking the large capacity drum and getting notified in the app that the load is finished. Quieter than my old washer and definitely taking time to get used to not having an agitator or using as much water. Glad I purchased this and would recommend to others! The drum is deep so reaching the bottom to get some of the clothes is a stretch for me at 6'0"...wonder how someone shorter would manage. So far that's the only downfall.

Overall I am pleased with the quality and performance. It is huge, quiet, it offers many cycles including the soaking, it allows customization of the cycle by features like Water Plus (add more water for better performance) and Extra Rinse (to remove any detergent residue from the clothes). I also like that it tells exactly how long the cycle will take. The only washing issue I had was with dawn pillows, apparently they become so heavy that the washed struggles with the spin speed and stops, but still this is towards the end of the rinse phase, it washed them well.

Pros: Excellent wash; large enough for heavy Queen-sized comforters; fast wash. Cons: Too tall/large for short useres. I wanted a large washer so I could do less loads and this washer absolutely fills the role. I used to feel like I HAD to do a second rinse or wash twice to get my clothes clean, but with this machine, once at "Normal" setting is quite good enough. I can't say enough how clean I feel the machine washes. Also, I used to think that the front loading HE machines were taking way too long at about 90 minutes to 118 minutes per wash and this machine gets a larger load done within 80 minutes at max; that allows me to do more loads if necessary - not necessary. This is a must for people who have large families or just lots of laundry to get done. Other reviews say you can fit a King comforter and full sheet set at once, but I believe it depends on the thickness/heaviness of the comforter. My heavy winter queen fits no problem and I can get the sheets in, but I rather wash the sheets separately. Now for the con... I am 5 feet 6 inches tall and I need a step stool or a riser to get up into get the clothes at the bottom of the machine; I sometimes use a silicon coated pair of tongs. But since I wanted a large machine this con is just a small price to pay for the cleanness.
