Great picture and nice overall television. 4 stars only because of sound and image retention issues but it repairs itself.

We didn't go in looking to buy a new OLED TV, but we certainly came out on top. This new technology takes your viewing experience to a whole new level. Another benefit from this technology is that the TV never gets hot and it only costs $10 per year to run it. We are thrilled with our purchase!

This TV was bought as a replacement to my plasma TV that died. I had looked at multiple TV's but kept coming back to the OLED TV's due to the great picture quality. It looked good in the store with only antenna input. It now looks amazing with HDMI input. This is the TV to buy

Fantastic picture! Lives up to all the hype. Hooked up to Fios and Blue Ray player. Watched the 3D new Jurasic movie. I did not know what 3D was capable until watching this movie. WOW If you have to wait longer to get OLED instead of regular LED, do so.

Unbelievable blacks (can't tell whether it's off or on when it's on a black screen) and beautiful colors. Haven't tried 4k content yet, but regular blu-rays (and 3D) look spectacular

this gives great picture in all circumstances. The sound system though highly touted I only thought was fair. /think you need sound bar. It is easy to use and looks very stylish.

So, OLED is definitely tops for picutre quality and contrast levels, but beware of one big problem, BURN IN. Mine was purchased as an open box model, and after making the purchase I quickly learned that it was used as a floor display. LG OLED 4K TV is burnt in all the way across the center of the screen, and is very visible with any yellow hue backgrounds. When displaying solid red/blue, you can also read the words plain as day. Went back to Best Buy, their curved 55" model on display also experiences the exact same thing. Keep in mind, the LG OLED 4K TV logo only appears once every 2 minutes on their demo video, and only stays on the screen for about 10 seconds before going away. After 2200 hours of use, mine has this image permanently burnt into the screen. I have attempted numerous online fix videos with no help at all. LG refuses to assist me with getting this model repaired, only tells me that Best Buy has to deal with it. Best Buy has stopped responding to my requests for repair, only tells me that if the problem hasn't disappeared after 45 days that they will refund my money. So...only purchase this set brand new in the box, and make sure you never watch any TV channels that show static logos for any period of time, even if they disappear for a while. They will eventually show up as a dark shadow in your screen. Hopefully the 2016 models will help resolve this issue some.

The hype is real...4K is where it is at! Unless you have seen 4K programming on this LG I am not sure it can get much better. Delivered in every area.

My only problem with this TV is the horrible grey scale, yes blacks are amazing but the greys aren't. Plus when playing some blurays you can see like some staticky judder at the bottom of the screen where the black bars are at. Love this tv tho!

    a TV with different experience

    Posted .

I read the reviews for quite a while most of the experts said wait for OLED, well it was definitely worth the wait. This TV has an awesome bright picture even broadcast TV looks good. My first thought when I saw the pic at home was ---this is the wow picture I always expected from a new TV with the latest whatever and this time I got it--- I purchased (and returned) a Sony 850C a week before I got this TV the Sony pic and features were great but this LG is just a different experience. Even the sound is good maybe it's because I live in an apt. WebOS delivers a nice responsive menu and smart TV interaction. I didn't buy this TV for 3D but it's there, it's passive 3D (I learned from the Sony that I like it better than active) I only tried 3D twice, liked it. The real zinger is 4K content this is when you see the great colors, sharpness and overall fantastic experience of OLED. Blu ray is great, I watch a lot of football again no complaints no blur or lag.. I am not a videophile and yes there are experts and sites that mention issues and flaws with this TV and I'm sure there are some. Nothing is perfect. This is new technology and LG is currently the only mfg selling OLED I am happy with this TV and expect to enjoy it for a long time especially as it is somewhat future proof since it has both 4K and HDR. Read the reviews from owners and the pros, do your research learn about the features and technology. If you are on the fence I will definitely recommend you take the plunge you won't be disappointed. My only regret is that I couldn't afford the 65"

    Dead pixel line?

Bought December 2, 2015. pixel line shows up 4/17/16. Not impressed at all. Way to delicate for the price paid. I recommend all you spend the extra cash for as much warranty coverage as you can on this piece of tech. Lg warranty better come through and do it all for me with replacement no charge. I live 200 miles from the nearest Best Buy. Major letdown and disappointment.

Everything I have been waiting for in a screen

After owning several LCD and LED screens of varying black uniformity and backlight bleeds I finally went for the OLED. The salesperson did warn that there were image retention issues that could occur but that there was nothing close in the standard LED range. I originally purchased the sony 55" 850D which was just released. Great design but not even remotely to the level display. Yeah the LG was 2x the cost but this tv screams quality. The mouse like remote function makes entering text and navigating fast and easy. Voice input works excellent. Just plugging in a setting up was a fun experience. The OS just works perfect. Blacks are spot on and color is amazing. The only negative thing I have noticed is a vignetting from the sides when a dark grey takes up most of the space on the screen. I have read about this in a couple reviews and that it will go away over time. Still not a deal breaker based on everything else (at least it looks uniform and isn't an eye sore necessarily) . Ok maybe one other thing...It uses a mounting bracket unique to these LG screens so that takes away some flexibility for mounting (but the bracket is included for free currently)
