I've had my eye on an OLED TV for a couple years now and finally pulled the trigger when I saw this one on sale for $1800. Yes it's more expensive than traditional LED backlit LCD, but boy is it worth it! If you loved the picture from your old tube TV - the vibrant colors and deep blacks, then this TV technology is for you! The screen is about a 1/2" thick, so make sure to follow the unboxing instructions to get it assembled without damaging the screen. Super lightweight for the size, but you still need two people to move due to the size. Screen, sound, 3D, smart TV features, magic remote, all are superb. Yes this is like $1000 more than the standard LCD versions, but after you try it you won't want to go back.

Like all Sony disc players, this one is simple to control and operate in general. There's a digital coaxial output, which allows EZ and best audio connection for those not using HDMI audio. The player's ability to improve the video quality of most DVDs is amazing, I'd say, and is a good enough reason in itself to buy this player, I'd say. My player had difficulty reading and displaying the video on various but all kinds of discs quite often. But I had not yet connected the player to the Internet, and soon as I did, notification of firmware updates popped up on the screen. As soon as these were downloaded and installed, this problem ended, so be sure your player has an Internet connection right from the start.

I knew I would own an OLED from the first day I saw the brilliant display at Best Buy. After a year I went to buy one and lucky me a newer (improved?) model was released which I picked up. I was warned by a Sony rep in the store that OLED is not ready for consumers due to image retention. He used the year old display model as an example... duh... its been cycling the same video for hours a day, every day, for over a year! Since nobody uses their TV that way I left with a smile on my face and took the only unit the store had which was not even on display yet. SOOOO glad I ignored that guy, the display is BEAUTIFUL!

I've always only Owned LCD/LED TV's and they were fine but never could get one that had perfect picture they would either have blooming or light Bleed Issues due to the edge lighting. I Decided to get this OLED Tv as they are finally way more Affordable then they used to be. This Tv has the best Picture I've ever had and the best TV I've ever owned. The picture Quality is amazing and perfect at all times even for watching Movies in the Dark unlike the Other Tv's I've had the picture quality deteriorated at night. I barely had to do any tweaking as for me the TV for the most part looked great out of the box. I have to this point not been able to come up with any complaints on this TV which is great!

Am at a loss to come up with any new adjectives to describe the picture quality of my new LG OLED. Have been a Samsung viewer for over ten years and own three...one is over ten years old and still works...a Samsung 3D plasma I thought had best picture in the world until I got my LG OLED. Works great with my DirecTV and Samsung blu-rae 3D DVD player. Only issue with the LG OLED is built-in speakers are weak....thank goodness my old BOSE 3-2-1 system is compatible with the LG because those speakers provide great room filling sound. Am not one to allow technology to define my happiness however am very pleased with my purchase and BestBuy experience..

We did a great deal of research prior to our purchase both online and at our local Best Buy, and this LG OLED TV met or exceeded all of our expectations. Our representative was excellent, responsive to our input while guiding, without pushing us to the best device for our situation with a thoughtful consideration of potential future expansion of our home theater system. Setup was very intuitive including room specific sound balancing, as is the operation of the Smart options. We are delighted with the picture quality, and even though we haven't yet been able to access any 4K program material the on board upscaling still gives remarkable results for both DVD and standard cable signal input.

Perfect TV Picture but not SONOS compatible

    Posted
    InLA2

The TV iteslf is absolutely perfect as far as the picture-- best I've seen. But the included universal remote is useless if you have a SONOS system connected by an optical audio cable. The connection app recognizes just about every sound system--except SONOS, and you cannot even manually link SONOS. The sound will play through SONOS as a generic speaker, but you cannot adjust the sound volume with the LG remote. So If you have a Sonos system, you will need to buy and use a third party remote. My overall rating is a 5 stars for the picture and 1 star for the remote, for an average of 3 stars. If LG ever decides that that SONOS is worthy of matching with LG's TVs, I will gladly raise my rating to 5 stars.

Bought this after seeing it in the store. Got a great price on Black Friday. It has not disappointed. With 4K content it's amazing with 1080p looks really good. I read a lot of reviews and the manual and real testing. I went for the C6 bc I wanted 3D. The pic is fantastic. LG makes a great OLED I've connected 4K Roku, Xbox one s, and a Yamaha YSP-2700 sound bar. It's a great setup and while it doesn't have a lot of apps on its store, the motion browser remote works really well. Browser is strong. I'd say buy it went it's on sale but I'm convinced OLED is real deal, like plasma. If watch Netflix and Amazon in the UHD features u will be pleased.

Couldn't be happier with this TV! I purchased this set because I saw the new generations of OLED's were phasing out the passive 3D and this was a feature I really wanted. The picture quality is outstanding, the 3D is excellent and the 4K imaging is so life like. The remote has a voice command option which makes it easier to search the web without having to try to type everything in. I did run into problems with purchasing at Best Buy as I had to visit three different stores and get a second tv after the first did not contain the accessories in the box. Would have ordered online if I knew it was going to be a hassle, but in the end I ended up with a great OLED tv.

I originally purchased a Samsung k9000 since the LG 55" OLED was out of stock. In the store the picture seemed comparable but once I took it home and spent some time with it I realized there was quite a bit of light bleeding around bright objects and around the edge on The k9000. I returned it to Best Buy and purchased the LG OLED model instead and I couldn't be happier fantastic picture quality, no light bleeding, great menu interface and 4k + HDR are amazing to watch. My only complaint, albeit a small one, is there are only 3 hdmi ports and one is used by the sound bar leaving me with two ports to 4-5 hdmi devices.

I am going to keep this review short and sweet, mainly because other reviews are more comprehensive in the specs of the tv. What I will say is that you will not find a better picture, at any pricepoint, than with an LG OLED. The fact that the individual pixels can be turned off makes for blacks that are simply impossible to achieve with backlighting. The colors are also incredible saturated and make absolutely everything you watch look stunning. Everything I use for input, including non-4k inputs, seems to be upconverted and looks absolutely incredible. If you have the extra money to get something like this, there is no better TV you can buy.

The most advanced and elegant display that I ever owned. The image quality, colors and black are hypnotizing and the 3D blows me away. Automatically detect 3D signals and HDR Dolby vision content via streaming services and Blu Ray players. You can even select HDR effect for non HDR content. Completely satisfied with this purchase.

I purchased this TV a month ago (display model at that) and I have to tell you that this model is everything that's been advertised and more. The black levels are unmatched, the crystal clear 4k picture is to die for and the HDR when gaming on my Xbox One S along with watching Netflix, DTV, etc. is worth the purchase alone. I got the 5 year protection plan and am loving this TV as I also have a Vizio p55 and stayed away from Samsung as all 9 open-box TV's were Samsung (which should tell you something). YOU WILL LOVE THIS TV AND IT'S MANY FEATURES SUCH AS 3D, 2D TO 3D CONVERSION, 4K with HDR 10, MAGIC REMOTE, ETC.!!!

Dolby Vision, HDR10, what else can you want in a TV. I thought about this versus Sony HDR versus Samsun HDR, but OLED is in a league of its own. The only complaint I have is menu system is totally redone. The network video player has limited decoder so H264 and Divx does decode well, but not so well for others such as AVI files. The wifi connection is very good, able to watch Amazon app with crystal clarity. The remote with motion controller is a little annoying, popping up anytime you move the remote. Pricey but bought it with $700 off black friday, but I think the sales have come back several times.

I highly recommend an OLED TV for anyone that is willing to purchase a high end TV. People buy TVs typically once every 3-8 years so you should make the purchase that is most future proof. This TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and with patch will support HLG (tv broadcast) via firmware update. The blacks on this TV are truly black. The colors on any content are truly amazing. With the HDR Game Mode firmware update, this TV is also great for HDR gaming. I'd recommend purchasing the newer C7 if possible (2017 model vs this 2016 model) mainly due to the 20ms input lag vs this model (33 ms).

This TV has transformed my life! OK, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but this TV is fantastic. I never thought I'd spend this much on a TV, but I'm so glad I did. The picture clarity and color is outstanding and the on-screen menu is pretty easy to navigate, even for a somewhat technically-challenged person like me. The TV itself is very thin and doesn't have that plastic "frame" around it, so it is very sleek and modern looking. For such a thin TV, the sound is not so bad. (You'll still want a sound bar, though.) Now that I've gotten this curved TV, I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to a flat panel.

This has to be the most beautiful TV i have ever seen and owned not only is the Footprint Sleek, with this tv.... its all about the Picture, that amazing picture. so vivid and rich are the colors that the other 4K tv I own pales in comparison. I bought this particular model as it can do 3D as well (Replacing my old 1080P 3D LG). Let me tell you the upscale on the 3D is amazing as well, now each eye is at the full 1080P that the 3D was designed to be viewed at! I highly recommend this tv to all 3d enthusiasts and 4K enthusiasts alike. The 4k Content on Netflix is amazing, and 4k movies look insanely crisp.

My father-in-law has been talking about these OLED TVs and then a buddy at work mentioned just how well they look. The opening scene to star wars episode 4 is gorgeous with lots of detail, high contrast, etc., far more than with my LED based Samsungs, which I believe to still have a very good picture. At this price I knew I couldn't go wrong. The only negative aspect with the curved model vs the straight is that it has one fewer HDMI ports (3). I had 4 in use on the Samsung D8000 this has replaced. I'll probably just move one of the devices to another TV in the house, so not a big deal but be warned.

After researching OLED televisions for some time I purchased this 2016 model to replace a 4K Samsung TV. The picture is hands down better than LCD with no banding during dark scenes. Use John Wick UHD blue ray as a test to compare. Vibrant colors. Bought 2016 model because it still has 3D which is gone for 2017. Pros - True Black, supports both Dolby and HDR10, passive 3D Cons- Not quite as bright as Samsung LED, Audio is poor, Samsung smart connect box has more inputs and is more convenient. This is an excellent TV and you won’t be sorry, just buy a sound bar with it for audio.

I can not say enough about this TV. I was very happy with my 10 year old Sony SXRD. Rear projection, but this TV blew it out of the water. The 3D functionality is really good in my opinion, I have no 4K source material yet, but the upgrade feature is incredible on everything Xbox 360 games look completely different, and even a couple of my old original Xbox games look great too. Blu-Ray is phenomenal and DVD looks great too. I can’t even imagine what an actual 4K signal would look like. If you are on the fence, this TV is worth the extra few hundred dollars.
