LG OLEDs suffer from rapid pixel BURN-OUT!
I bought a similar model just over a year ago. While it did at first have a great picture, especially with HDR/ Dolby Vision, I was not aware of the huge problem with rapid decay of pixels, either with CNN logos, or with simply using a format that does not completely cover the screen. Sadly, I just notice the other day, that dreaded burn-in aging effect. While I use varying content & devices, including Netflix/MA/Apple TV 4k, Roku/ Cable DVR and more recently "discovered" that the TV itself can do either HD10/ Dolby Vision either via it's App or via my new Apple TV4+.
It seems to be a huge problem with LG OLEDS and they always downplay the effect or trivialize complaints. LG OLED TV's had varied in stating the number of hours that these OLEDs will last without mismatch [range was from 30k to 100k hrs., for a 50% decay].
I called LG's customer service the other day, and they sent me a claim number to file with my pics of the defective screen due to differential use. Pixel reset does not remedy the solution, but I found that the Zoom-in feature can take most banners & logos off a cable/Spectrum channel input. The Zoom-in is a pain and I am missing out on the big picture. Other sources that use a full screen without promoting distortion, such as with movies on an AppleTV4k, may help slow further degradation.
Sadly, the CNN static elements have made a persistent defect in the Red/Magenta elements, so that it will become visible in movies that use reddish tones. The advanced menu allows one to use a Red Filter to make the burn-in quite apparent & negates that former quality picture.
I find that LG's position that they describe on their website is highly misleading. Their so-called test picture is not accurate since the flower pics is on a white background and has different colored flowers.
My estimated use of this LG OLED is likely not more than 2,000 hrs or so. Immediately, before this, I had many top of the line Samsung LCD TV with showed no pixel problem with the same input for 3-5+ years. Some of my relatives still have the original LCD TV's that I bought them for almost a decade...without this problem.
If you do a simple Internet search, you will find lots of problems with LG OLEDs, that they seem to ignore. While ironic, they did give me a case number which started with CNN1909......
I sent out the required screen pics in several different ways. I am afraid to buy another LG OLED TV and will warn others as to this effect.
While I do expect a response from either these reviews or calling them, I sure wish that they would hurry up, since I finally upgraded my Stereo system [top of the line Yamaha receiver] for Dolby Atmos and to be able to pass a 4K HDR signal.
BEWARE OF BURN-IN & short life of these OLED pixels! Some articles also downplay these issues, and are so insulting to anyone who has these problems. Some recommend the inferior QLED type, but I would hesitate to buy from LG again.
I am hoping that LG will do the right thing!

Amazing TV

This TV is second to none! The picture is crisp and when watching 4K content is insane. Movies and nature programs have never been better. The remote is great, very cool to point and click on items on screen. The TV integrates with your cable box to display your local guide, as well as streaming apps. The TV is ascetically pleasing and very thin! If you plan to put it on a TV stand and not mount it, I strongly suggest strapping it to the wall or TV stand, especially if you have kids or pets. Also highly recommend investing in some high quality HDMI cables. Overall great TV and well worth the price!

Bought OLED65E7 in 2017 and it was beautiful out of the box with great color and blacks for late night TV. Sadly, 36 months later I have a large boat anchor. The power goes off in less than 30 seconds which prevents me from trying to do Factory Reset recommended by LG Customer Support. LG Service tech that I paid to come look at my $3000 anchor could not even assess becuase his service remote was not working when he came out. What a joke. Also had burn at about the 2 year mark and some pixel burn out in last year.
WOW! What a mistake. LG has great screens but bad electronics. Guess the reviews are too focused on out of box and don't care about longevity. Stay away....

The picture is beautiful at first.. I don't play video games or abuse the use of the tv.. but after 18 months of having the tv there is the dreadful " burn in" that LG oled TV's are becoming famous for.. when I bought this tv. I was told that the burn in was a problem with the older models not the newer.. well guess what, almost 3000 dollars and 18 months later the picture is horrible.... DONT WASTE YOUR MONRY ON LG. GO THE SAMSUNG WAY. MUCH BETTRT QUALITY.. I WILL NEVER WASTE MY MONEY ON ANYTHING LG AGAIN!!!

5 Stars When I Bought It

In 2017, I bought an LG OLED55E6P. What a beautiful picture! It should be for what was then an almost $3000 purchase. A few months later, the image of a famous news channel logo had burned in. It's all I can look at now. This is from normal viewing, not leaving the TV on the same channel all day, every day. LG is no help whatsoever, claiming this widespread problem isn't the fault of their technology. It seems the only solution is to buy a new set, But does it make sense to trust LG? Their TVs are always very highly rated, but now I have an ultra-thin, ultra-expensive doorstop, and I don't want another one.
