Gorgeous picture. Lots of issues with Xbox Series X and HDMI handshakes with this TV. The resolution will switch to 640x480 and it's tricky to get it to detect the 4k while using the XBox unless you start things in the perfect sequence. It's super annoying. No Dolby DTS

    Dangers of open box

I’m sure this is a fantastic display. HOWEVER, never, and I mean never, buy one of these open box. I was told the g2 65” I picked up yesterday was listed as “fair” due to missing the mount, stand, remote, and packaging. These don’t come with a stand and the wall mount kit was there, so maybe typo. Display itself looked damage free. But when I actually got it home, this thing has some of the worst burn in I’ve ever seen in an OLED. Hours above 8700. Story goes, this was a display unit, sold as open box to a customer before me, returned, and tossed back on the shelf. These are clearly not being checked before being sold as open box units.

    Poor Warranty Support

After less than a year my G2 developed a vertical line which has been reported by other G2 owners. Line is only visible in light blue, green, and yellowish screens and disappears with other colors. LG canceled two of my requests for warranty service and finally on the 3rd try assigned my warranty request to a local vendor with no customer service or communication skills. I am now going on a month and a half since this all began and still have not had my G2 fixed. I would recommend avoiding LG due to poor warranty service and obviously poor quality control.

Wow. I'm truly blown away with this tv. This is the TV I've always wanted. Absolutely stunning picture. If you want brightness, don't worry about anyone saying other brands are brighter. This G2 is so bright I had to tone it down a bit. When it comes to TVs, you get what you pay for. If you want the best picture and features, spend the money. A few things you should know that I wish I knew or that are just important are as follows. The G2 does not come with a stand, it must be mounted. A stand will be available soon, for $150 (ish) for the 65 inch version, but not as of 5-23-22 yet. You can buy a vesa stand to wall mount it. Just make sure it supports 300 by 300. I spent $50 for a good full motion mount. The TV comes with its own flush mount, but it didn't work well for me because I had a small area to mount to and the studs were 16 inches apart. The included mount couldn't center the tv where I needed due to the limited space on my wall. If you want true 4k with the best HDR you will need certified 2.1 HDMI cables. You don't need to spend more than 30$ for good 6 foot cables, so don't get scammed by salesmen trying to sell overpriced, ridiculous HDMI cables. I got Anker cables. You will also need a modern receiver that can handle 2.1 HDMI if you connect a surround sound system. Do your homework. Not many receivers work well with 2.1 yet. I couldn't find any worth buying cheaper than $850. I was able to stop using my fire cube to watch streaming media because this TV has most of the same apps and more. The only negative thing I have to say is that I have had some streaming issues. I'm using an Ethernet cable to watch streaming shows and a few apps have closed out in the middle of a show several times. I haven't figured out why yet.

This is the indispensable cinematic experience of the next decade. You cannot duplicate the level of clarity and refinement this television offers, certainly not in any movie theater. This is the primary reason we purchased this particular television: movie night. We couldn't possibly be anymore pleased with this purchase than we already are. Game-changer is the perfect description. Remember, the heat sink element virtually eliminates the risk of image retention. If you're a gamer, this TV is instantly your new best friend. And since it is the gallery edition, it mounts flush with the wall, so it is a TV, and an invaluable work of art at the same time. Yes, it is a $3,000 television, and worth every single penny! There will be lots of hype surrounding the new quantum dot (QD) tech that Sony and Samsung are rolling out. It still won't give you the blacks that an OG LG OLED is capable of, but even if it could, it's brand new tech. Do you want to be a Sony/Samsung guinea pig, hoping their new tech doesn't fail out of the gate, all while paying hundreds and hundreds more for their unproven technology? These guys were using LG panels in their own products until just recently. Trust the folks who have been in the game for a hot minute and know what they're doing. And trust me: I have not been compensated or incentivized in anyway to leave this review. My life, however, has been irrevocably changed for the better. And I owe it all, to this glorious monster in my living room. Are you ready to begin?

I had a Sony XR90 that went bad on me, so exchanged it for this model after a lot of research. Pros: Best picture, closest to the Sony. Flush mounting and frame are very cool This is LG's flagship and they want to get it right. 5 Year warranty of the screen. Including burn it. This is HUGE. Cons: The remote has no play and pause button. It can be used traditionally but also with a pointer like an old Wii. People will love or hate that function. The biggest con right now is that you really need to have this installed by Greek Squad. It does not come with a stand. I bought mine in central Ohio, and as of today, Geek Squad is 5-6 weeks out on scheduling installs. This was very disheartening. Also, you may take the TV with you and the year long manufacturer warranty starts then even through you won't be watching it for 6 weeks. This is something to consider if you envision watching your favorite college football team kickoff the season on this TV.

What can I say? There aren't words for how good a picture we have with this TV. We do have one issue that I don't know can be resolved. The television disconnects from the router often. I don't know if it's because of the internet in our area going out, or if it's the television, or if it's something with the routers, but we have to reset the connections often. That gets annoying, but the television is very easy to set up and use out of the box. When installing, note that the set is built to mount very closely to the wall with the included bracket. It does pull away from the wall about 6 inches or more, but you don't get a lot of room. We tried using the enclosed tabs to line up the mount, but ultimately used line of sight. The mount for this set is also set higher than with most other sets we've had. Most fasten at the middle of the TV. This one mounts near the top. We built a wall bracket mounted to the studs to install televisions in our living room. We had to move the bracket up almost a foot from its previous setting before we could mount the TV. Once mounted, it pushes back close to the wall. It's relatively light and looks amazing. Yes I would buy another one, and another, and another.

These is my third LG oled. This the best one so far. The picture is really good. The blacks are nice and crisp. The brightness is done just right. The game mode and settings are a great bonus. Having four HDMI ports that are 2.1 is great. The TV turner being third generation for antenna is nice to have. The sound quality is surprisingly good and loud enough. Having the heat sink is a plus. LG has definitely improved the quality and performance. If your looking for excellent picture quality and sound definitely would purchase speciality at the price point.

Great TV. I spent a bit figuring out if i wanted the sony or lg. I originally was going for the c2, but that little bit better brightness and better in tv speakers, the g2 ended up getting my money instead. I didnt think the g2 wo7ld be this huge of a upgrade from my panasonic plasma vt65, but wow. These hdr movies with dolby vision look stunning. I saw other reviews of complaints with "stuttering" of the image and i barely notice it. If you run the tv with cinema motion enhancement, it looks very goid and doesnt have the soap opera look to it that i really hate. The sound is actually really good. The mus8c setting is the best one in my opinion

Really a very beautiful picture, super sharp and crisp. Brightness is pretty good especially for an oled. Good colors but could be a bit more saturated if I'm being picky. Excellent build quality. Decent os and interface and remote, much better than most competitors. All the bells and whistles with hdmi 2.1 in four ports, Dolby vision and atmos, etc etc etc. Looks awesome mounted on the wall and the included mount is pretty good and easy to install although I did have to put some backing in the wall. 5 year warranty is comforting but I didn't look into the exclusions. I did return this because I just couldn't stomach the price. I've never paid more than $500 for a TV lol. Gonna keep an eye on the price while shopping for cheaper options. If you have the money it's a fantastic TV.

    LG's 2022 Flagship Model

The LG G2 is the flagship model, compared to the more affordable C2, which is intended for better market appeal. There are some minor differences to the aesthetics and design. The G2 is intended for mounting (comes with a wall mount) so a table stand needs to be purchased separately, if you want to have it standing. Keep in mind that the mount is INTENTIONALLY designed for the screen to lean back just slightly; that's not a defect but an actual intentional design element likely done to reduce glare(?) The bezel is slightly smaller than the C2 and the main screen is slightly thinner- hardly noticeable, honestly. Keep in mind that just because OLEDs are thinner by a huge margin than standard LEDs, they're still incredibly heavy. The G2 is also equipped with better heat management, which allows it to be brighter than the C2 model. This last part is the most important component when comparing the two. I purchased this for an apartment with excessive amounts of natural light so I needed to purchase a model that could handle that while also giving me deep blacks (that latter being something only an OLED can achieve). I would highly recommend this product for people wanting an OLED but also need to deal with lots of ambient light. i.e. if this is sitting in a basement space intended for movies, the C2 is plenty sufficient.

Truly remarkable TV. Insane color and detail. Very little tinkering required out of the box. Set-up was very easy. Only thing was I had to purchase new screws to mount it with my current VESA wall mount, but was a $2 trip to the hardware store. I was nervous because I noticed some vertical lines when I first turned the TV on and worried I had a banding issue, but after about 8-10 hours of use and a few automatic pixel refresh cycles the TV self-corrected all picture errors and now just looks perfect. I'm sure the G3 looks better, but to get this below $2k is a steal.

I’ve compared this TV to the Sony A95K and the Samsung S95B and it held its own against both. Yes, I have all 3 TVs in my home. The peak brightness beats out both. Yes, even the Samsung who has done firmware updates decreasing their peak brightness which cause a storm a few months ago. At the current price, it’s a steal. I was fortunate enough to have it price matched and now I’m even more happy with my purchase. Clarity, motion handling and brightness (especially bright highlights!!!) are the strong points. I also love the build quality. Though it’s not as thin as other OLEDs, I feel the “thickness” makes me feel more confident handling it the few times I did move it around the house. If you’re gaming in this TV, then your in for a treat. LGs make great gaming monitors (I have a few of those also) and it bleeds over to this TV. They’ve been in the “game” for a long time. LG TVs are the best for gaming. Response times, brightness, motion, game modes are all here and also what their monitors have. I don’t think there’s a question if you watch any reviewer on YouTube. The only thing to be aware of is it has no stand in the box. Just a touch wall mount. This TV was built to be wall mounted but I purchase and swivel stand from somewhere else and it’s just great. Glad I purchased this TV. I debated sending it back a few times but could not let go after watching Encanto in Dolby Vision vs the A95K (also has DV) and S95B (HDR 10+). I don’t care what anybody says…Dolby Vision makes a difference.

This TV is gorgeous. It stands above the C2 line with a brighter image. LG supports all the major formats for HDR as well and has a very solid image processing. It handles HD and SD content very well as well. Colors can be tuned very accurately without sacrificing any details. HDR on OLED still cant be beat. If you have decent light control the HDR second to none. Even in brightly lit rooms the TV gets bright enough for daytime use.

Fantastic TV, great for gaming and watching streaming content. I originally had the S95B before this but returned it to get this due to that TV having newer Oled tech and being unsure on its longevity. Games did look better on the S95B due to its higher color brightness, but the difference wasnt as drastic as some people make it out to be and the picture itself wasnt nearly as accurate as the G2. I also have the LG C1 and this TV is noticably brighter in gaming HGiG mode compared to the C1- bright enough to use HGiG all the time for games while in a dark room, whereas for the C1, HGiG was too dim sometimes. You're not going to get the huge jump you'd see if you got a G4 obviously, but the G2's full screen brightness is adequate enough in a dark room and the 1000nits brightness for highlights looks amazing, especially for darker games like Resident Evil. It really is a quality product and I can see myself upgrading to a G series in the future with the even brighter MLA tech.
