We finally decided to upgrade from an eight year old Samsung UHD tv to something with the latest technology. After a bunch research and talking to the Best Buy associate for two hours, we decided to give LG OLED a try.
Key factors we considered was the five year warranty of LG for this model for peace of mind regarding burning even though that is not more of an issue in recent years, the new brightness of this model is amazing, the gaming features, and the Dolby Vision capability is breath taking. The OLED blacks did not disappoint.
That being said here comes a few issue to be aware:
1. This may be bad luck but the first tv we got was damage out the box, had two inch line right in the middle of screen. We exchange it right away second one no issue so far.
2. Tv comes without a stand. Not everyone can or wants to mount their tv to their wall. I feel LG and employees should have more clear warning on this before buying. Then you're force to buy a $100 tv stand on a $3,000 tv is outrageous.
3. The UI is ok and easy to use but LG wants to collect your life and then some in their privacy policy this made me a little bit uncomfortable. Remote is also ok and I did like the pointer feature comes handy sometimes.
4. There is still something weird going on with HDR that supposedly was fixed in the last update and only in Film-maker mode.
5. Gaming looks amazing.
6. The price is very steep although has come down a bit since we bought it. If you're in a rush to have the latest then is still one the best options out there, if you're not in a rush I would wait for the price to come down even further or go for C5 which is almost half the price and the only downside is a lower brightness and the lack of five year warranty on the oled screen.

I am absolutely in love with this gorgeous state of the art machinery. The colors and brightness are a huge upgrade from my LG C9. The Filmmaker mode is mind blowing. Watching movies the way the director wanted us to watch is something i can not not live without now. .If you decide to buy the G5 please do yourself a favor and watch Guillermo del Toro’s ,”Frankenstein “.

Amazing sound and picture quality!
My husband and I finally had to replace our older Samsung Smart TV with a new LG OLED G5. There was some hesitation initially, since we knew very little about LG and were leaning toward Sony, a brand that we knew. However, after doing a bit of research and speaking with the Best Buy Rep (Clay), who by the way blew us away with his knowledge of both brands, we finally settled on LG. We are so happy that we did. Now enjoying our favorite TV shows and streaming series. LG was a bit pricier than we originally budgeted for, BUT so worth it!

We Purchased the 65" G5 OLED and we love this Tv. Amazing Picture quality and we have to say is the best tv we have ever owned. Crystal clear 4k dolby vision picture and very bright. The OLED Screen makes graphics color bright and beautiful. Also the Flat Back design mounts completely flushed to the wall that makes it look like a picture frame. I would suggest setting it at eye level while sitting in your sofa. I would recommend the LG G5 to anyone looking for a new OLED 4k tv.
Thank you.

Quite the upgrade from a 50" 60hz LCD panel to this. G-Synced games straight from my 4080 Super in stunning HDR. Whites so bright it'll make you squint.
*Dolby audio pumped out of a secondary ARC-compatible HDMI from LG TV to my audio receiver works like magic

Great picture, can get TOO BRIGHT...i definitely only watch at 50-80% brightness. Love the flush wall mount. Great gaming hub. My only complaint is how bright the settings tabs are when in HDR..like eye piercing bright. Why the menus arent black or translucent is dumb.

I will start by saying the new tandem 4 stack OLED tech is every bit as good as advertised. Picture quality is great with unbelievably high brightness, I’d argue even brighter than most LED TV’s. Processing is top notch and build quality is phenomenal as well. Only downside is that there is a good macro blocking in low res content and black can crush in dark scenes. Overall, I’d say LG nailed it this year. Anyone looking for a high quality OLED with awesome gaming features and picture quality, just purchase it and be happy for years to come.

I bought the LG 65" G5 TV for movie watching & very specifically for fast paced FPS gaming while still being capable of an absolutely stunning 4K picture.
Overall I am very happy with this TV (so far) & would purchase this same TV again.
PRO's:
*High speed gaming is incredible.
*Gaming dashboard is a nice feature.
*Picture is absolutely amazing.
*All HDMI ports are high speed.
*Nice looking TV, very thin
CON's:
*No included owners manual with TV, it has to be downloaded. While a digital version is a nice option, an included hardcopy is preferred.
*The remote is 'minimalist' & very generic for a TV at this level, but does work properly.
*Would not work with my older expensive premium HDMI cables that I was using with my older LG OLED TV, I had to buy all new HDMI cables.

Had to get a new TV after my last LG OLED C9 died after almost 6 years, decided to make the jump up to the G series and it’s a substantial difference in quality to make it one of the best TVs I have ever seen.
I mainly watch movies and game on my TV - this TV handles both in spades. It has all the bells and whistles for current gen consoles, including VRR support, 120 fps, and Dolby Vision for gaming on the Series X. The OLED panel is top of class with one of highest nit ratings for how bright the panel can get when using HDR, meaning you will get absolutely gorgeous visuals with high contrast on screen, all with incredible clarity. Response time for gaming is very good with game mode on, and best yet is this TV does not drop visual clarity nearly as much when Game Mode is activated.
It’s an expensive TV but if you are looking for one that is worth every penny, I can’t recommend it enough. It will genuinely make you say “Whoa” when you are checking out 4K content

The LG EVO G5 delivers

The LG EVO G5 is hands down one of the best TVs I’ve ever owned. From the moment you unbox it, the sleek design and ultra-thin profile exude premium craftsmanship. It mounts nearly flush to the wall, transforming your living room into a modern gallery.
What truly sets the G5 apart is its picture quality. The OLED evo panel delivers breathtaking color, deep inky blacks, and exceptional contrast. Whether you’re watching a movie in Dolby Vision or playing games in 4K HDR, the visuals are incredibly vibrant and lifelike. Even fast-paced scenes are smooth and detailed, thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate and LG’s top-tier motion handling.
Gaming on this TV is phenomenal. With HDMI 2.1 support, low input lag, G-SYNC and FreeSync compatibility, it’s a dream setup for next-gen consoles and PC gaming.
WebOS is smarter and snappier than ever, and the Magic Remote makes navigating streaming apps effortless. LG’s AI Picture Pro and sound enhancements are genuinely impressive, often eliminating the need for a separate soundbar in smaller spaces.
Overall, the LG EVO G5 is a premium OLED experience that exceeds expectations in every category—design, performance, and user experience. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. It’s worth every penny.

The LG G5 65” is a game changer for me. I’ve waited a long time to buy an OLED and this is THE one. It’s bright enough for any room and has the black level and shadow detail you need for a theater room. It can do it all. It has a wider color gamut, higher NIT’s more color saturation and the screen uniformity is unmatched. Unlike Samsung, it has Dolby Vision. You can’t beat DV for movies and Netflix. The remote is a letdown and continues to be LG’s proprietary RF style. There’s an HDR bug for gamers causing posterization and banding. it was a problem for Dolby Vision but that’s been patched. The HDR patch is supposedly coming in July. I can’t say enough about this TV for DV format viewing. Equally amazing is HD streamed content. The SDR presentation is the best I’ve see. Big step up here from my 2018 era Sony. It will be tough to leave OLED after this.

I got this to replace my LG E8. It does for the most part live up to the pre-release hype from reviewers. I use it for streaming, 4k UHD blu rays, PS5 and a Nintendo Switch. It greatly improved the picture quality in my Nintendo Switch (with the right settings and NOT game optimizer mode for SDR content). After owning this TV for a couple days, i have zero need or desire to go with a mini led or other type of TV. This sucker is bright and the color volume at bright levels is insane for an OLED. Here’s the two things that really really bother me thou. The new remote is absolutely terrible. I can’t stress that enough. They took buttons off of it that were incredibly useful, like the input button! The software interface is also terrible. It’s cluttered and you have to navigate that mess to change inputs on the TV, because again, the remote doesnt have a button! I almost docked this a star because of how annoying these two things are for the price you pay for this TV. However, when you are watching a movie or gaming, you will not find a better experience elsewhere.
