Best Top Line LED for the money

Absolutely love this tv and its features. The full array lighting and local dimming provide the amazing picture quality I would expect from a top end LED. Great tv for movies, television and gaming. It has multiple picture settings that are easy to chose based on what you are viewing. The tv automatically recognizes the different HDR formats (LG uses all formats)and adjusts accordingly. The ThinQ technology is fantastic! I am able to pair with my Amazon Echo (Alexa) and google home assistant. The voice control for television settings and for searches is impressive. Best user interface in my opinion. Better price, picture, and features than the Sony X900F. Better than the Samsung Q series, except the Q9, in same areas.

After using this TV for a little over a month, there isn't much that I can complain about. I initially thought that I wouldn't use the 'Smart' features, as all other Smart-TVs I've used are clunky and outdated. I was pleasantly surprised to find that WebOS (the interface on LGs) is quite intuitive and fluid! I've found myself utilizing it almost exclusively rather than any connected peripherals. The Dolby Vision and Atmos support are AMAZING. Though, I have found that if you aren't in a very dark room, the backlight will need to be increased, which does slightly wash-out the color depth of the picture. The Full Array Local dimming is very good - it's what allows blacks similar to OLED. That being said, on a mostly-black image, you will see some feathering between the area with the color, and the areas that are black. Particularly with HDR content. These tiny drawbacks aren't worth the extra $1k to get OLED - at least not to me. So if you're looking for near-OLED quality without the 'OLED'-tax, this is your go-to TV.

I bought this TV on sale and I really wanted to love it. It's a great size and the sound is really good. The picture was very nice and detailed and the viewing angles were also good. It was pretty bright too. I fed it 4K Dolby Vision HDR content from Netflix, the LG UBK90 and 4K Dolby Vision HDR content from Itunes. It did a great job with the stuff I watch like Scifi, anime, action and comedy shows. The colors were rich and I felt good about things. In a dark room is where the problems were for me. I had this in my bedroom. The blacks seemed like a very dark gray and there was some blooming too. I ended up returning it for those two reasons and I felt like if I was going to spend 2K on a TV then I better be extremely happy and not feel like I was settling. They have this tv and the LG OLED right next to each other on display and I could not get passed the picture difference. OLEDs as everyone should know are the best. You can't beat the deep inky blacks and all the other features. So I just upgraded from the LG SK9000 65" to the LG C8 OLED 65".

Excellent 4k pictures and easy to setup, bright natural looking colors, good even from an angle, better than S brand. Remote voice recognition is great. However if viewing a document or content with white background, white is darker near the sides of the screen.

The picture is bright and clear. The features of the Smart TV are amazing. The controller is also a mouse type pointer. It is easy to move the pointer and make selections. All of the expected apps are there. Amazon Video, Hulu, Netflix, and many more. I had no problems setting it up and adding it to my network. It was also easy to interface to my external sound bar.

Our "old" set was a 2016 LG 65UH6030 that was bought at a Black Friday sale. It died in March (2yrs and 3mos old). So to say the least, I was NOT looking to by another LG set. But after countless hours of research, this LG 65SK9000PUA set kept coming up as the best set short of an OLED set. So we bit the bullet and so far, it's been awesome! The picture is just amazing! Whether viewing 1080p or 4K, the picture is just beautiful. Don't notice any image degradation up to 60 degrees from straight on. Colors are amazing even on 1080p programs. Speakers are ok, but we have it connected to an Onkyo AVR for 5.1 sound. Settings can be overwhelming so we went with Sports for the picture and Cinema for the sound. Both worked out great. AV sync was an adventure, but we eventually sorted that out as well. Best overall TV I've ever had, so far. Now we just have to see how long it lasts. That will pretty much determine if we ever by LG again.

This TV has a lot of features that I love about LG. The picture quality is amazing and the brightness is unparalleled. I found it extremely easy to use and the small bass for the TV makes it easy to find a TV stand. Although you may find Vizio and Sony TVs that are lower priced for the same size, the refresh rate is not as good as this one

This tv has been good so far. Everything’s been easy to use. Remote connected to existing cable box with easy. Just had to take some time to learn how to tweak the setting. Picture is good and sound is good. Had to find the correct adjust for HD but it was easy. Thought about Samsung and Sony but decided on this model due to the base. Could have gone higher or lower in price but this was a great compromise. Some may not agree.

This TV is great in many ways, picture, sound, price, etc. My friends complement me on picture & sound quality as well as webOS. Since I bought this TV, I have been somewhat nervi=ous about the stand, whether it will hold up or not. So far, it has. !!

Been searching for quite some time for a new TV for our family room. Spend days, weeks, if not months researching models from the big brands. Narrowed it down and when I arrived Best Buy had the SK9000 as an excellent open box unit for a fraction of the price. Got the TV we wanted and had money left in my pocket. The picture is excellent once you fine tune to your sources and the blacks are great. My son only wants to watch his Paw Patrol on the Big TV now. Overall we are extremely happy with the TV and now even have the 55” brother in the bedroom.

Amazing TV but poor LG customer Service

Short review: Amazing 4K TV for movies and gaming on Xbox One for the price (I paid the discounted price of $1600 at Christmas 2018). I'm using this in a dark room with 5 yr BB warranty. Love the TV for gaming, movies, and TV watching. LG customer service is VERY poor with details at end of this review. Details: I had planned on purchasing the 65" TCL for $1000 even though I knew about the panel lottery with it. When I looked at the 65" TCL in store at BB, even the display model had the panel issue (Dirty screen) in the corners. If TCL doesn't care enough to have quality in store display models then I'm not purchasing their product. Then I researched and decided to purchase the LG SK9000 65" for $1600 at BB. They had the SK9000 playing the same 4k content in store as the LG B8 which was right next to it and was almost $1000 more. I could not tell the difference between the two sets. It was amazing to see those two sets side by side. Big plus for me on the SK9000 was for $1600 I get Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The speakers on this TV are the best TV speakers I have ever heard. Outstanding which really surprised me. The 4K image is fantastic (I also purchased a LG UBK90 4K player). Blurays upscaled look equally fantastic. I won't even bother upgrade all my blurays just select favorite titles to actual 4K discs. Navigation is a breeze on this TV as is the set up. I did online settings for picture and love the image. It looks just like it did in the store. I'm coming from a love of my Panasonic Plasma with deep blacks. The SK9000 has incredible blacks. I watched a 4K episode of Season One Stranger Things where the character was small in the middle of the screen surrounded by black and it was pure plasma like black. Could not be happier. Stunning colors. Upscaling is great. Over the air broadcasts even looks better. I'm using an Xbox One (original not an S or X) and game play looks fantastic with no lag. Sports (NFL Football) is really fun to watch on this. On screen navigation is easy, quick, and responsive. A useful variety of picture settings helps to customize your inputs. Streaming is great. The stand is great. Small footprint. One of the few 65" TVs that would fit on my existing stand (previously used for a 50" plasma TV). Removing the TV from the box and setting it up is very easy but does require two people due to the size. So if that is an issue for you then I would suggest paying the extra to have Best Buy do it. The only downside I found was LG's customer service. I went to register the TV from the web address on the warranty card. When I typed it into my browser, a different address popped up. I called LG customer service to find out if the new address is a legitimate LG registration address since it wasn't on the warranty card. LG refused to give me that information unless I gave them all my personal details (name, phone, etc). I told them I simply wanted to know if the registration address is actually an LG address. You would have thought I was asking for the keys to Area 51. They refused. I said, I will simply take the TV back for a refund and get a Samsung if they can't confirm the warranty registration web address. Upon hearing this, the LG Representative, did not care if I was taking the TV back and going with a Samsung. At that point, I hung up, called back for a 2nd rep and explained what had happened with the first rep. He then asked what web address without needing my personal information. So I was finally able to confirm the web address is LG's even though it is different from the one on the warranty card. 2nd rep never apologized for how the first rep handled the question. LG came close to losing a customer over something that should have been very simple for customer service to have responded to. Pretty stupid of LG to act that way over a simple question concerning registering your new TV at Christmas time. LG needs to talk to their customer service phone reps (and replace a few) or they will lose customers. LG customer service gets an F and LG SK9000 TV gets an A+. Great TV. If you love movies or gaming in 4K with Dolby Atmos sound you won't be disappointed.

I first realized LG’s quality and value when I bought a TV for my parents a few years ago. My wife and I decided to enhance our home entertainment experience and bought this TV based on price, options and my parents contentment with theirs. We could not be happier with our purchase! The TV provides ease of use and picture that makes you feel what ever you are watching is occurring in your home. Truly an incredible visual experience!

This TV is great. I'm not easy to please. The color and the changing light effect in the room is unbelievable how it adjusts to what ever condition prevails.. The viewing angles are better than anything I have seen in both a lighted and dark room. Shopping TV's is not easy and the pricing is a moving target, best buy's price match made it easier to pull the trigger. I shopped LG and Samsung and this set was the nearest set to the OLED or the QLED for a fair amount less. Not enough 4 K available but choosing a set without it doesn''t make sense going forward. I still need to get a grip on the AI portion of the set and instructions are scarce so beware of any sales promise and demand assistance in mastering what could save scrambling for which controller to use when you have several attachments (IE Cable, DVD, prime , ) ETC. Also be prepared to purchase a 4 K blue ray player if you want to maximize your purchase. It was worth the effort shopping every thing available and wanting the bast VALUE for the future that is available at the time of purchase.

This is an excellent tv. The picture is superior. The sound is so much better than previous sets I've owned. The operating system is logical and user friendly. A superior feature is the ability to customize the picture. This is well worth the time and allows this set to rise above Samsung and many others. Only complaint is that LG tvs come equipped with a limited number of apps. You will need to research the workaround to get some that can't be downloaded via LG

I was talked out of buying a 55” Oled for the 65” super UHD sk9000. The picture looks incredible on this thing. The blacks are smooth and dark. The sound quality that it comes with is excellent. This thing uses the same processor as the OLED TVs so the refresh rate especially for gaming is great. The overall tv package is awesome and would totally recommend buying this tv over an Oled especially if you game.

This TV is stunning. I use it exclusively for running a Xbox One X. After you enable HDR settings on your Xbox, go and enable them in Additional Settings under the Video Settings Tab. TV was amazing even with HDR off, but it's breathtaking with 120htz and HDR on. Unreal!! Honesty thinking of replacing my gaming TV, a Vizio, with this guy. I didn't even have to tune the Tv's colors and I'm impressed.
