    Overall it is good

I'm reasonably happy with the dryer and it works well. I am the one that does the wash each other Friday and have been for some time, as part of 'my' functions to help my wife around the house. A couple of things that could be irritating: 1. Door does NOT drop down all the way - makes it a bit harder to put or pull clothes onto a flat door and scoop up everything - instead, now I need a bin to gather all the clothes in one place and carry from the garage to the house. The door opening 1/4 of the way, so clothes can slide down into the dryer - don't really need it! 2. Directions to use the dryer are not intuitive or simple. I'm still trying to figure out when I start up the Dryer, what the 'Cool' light means. Even when I have it on HOT and start it up, default is 25 minutes - which is not nearly enough to dry a load that is 3/4ths to a full load. It requires closer to one hour, so I have to manually press the Time. 3. Because our town requires the dryer to be on a stand, my wife has a hard time reaching the controls without needing a stool! At least if all the knobs are on one side, we wouldn't need to move the laundry bins from one side to the other. I myself have no trouble reaching the controls, but I also need to move the laundry bins from one side to the other when going over the controls. Overall, I can't say that I'm overly thrilled with the dryer, and this was supposed to be one of the highest rated dryers, which is why we bought it. My Kenmore dryer of 12-15 years old worked much simpler, with fewer controls and did an excellent job before it died. It's not that I'm against computerized appliances - just why make things more complicated than it needs to be. BTW: I'm a retired computer software manager, so ... yes, I know enough about computers. As far as recommending ... if you can "put up" with the drawbacks, the dryer works fine.

    Love the two-way door!

I love the way the door on this dryer can be opened both to the side and from the top. The top opening makes a shute to drop the cloth easily into the dryer, and the side opening is nice for emptying the clothes and cleaning the lint filter. I like that I can set it for time-dry, because the sensor always runs longer. When it was installed the installer placed it to the right of my washer because of the way the door opens. I discovered later in the manual that he could have reversed the door in order to install on the left like it was before. It would have taken him quite a bit of work to change it, but he didn’t seem to be aware that it was possible. When I first looked at it in the store, I had mentioned the way the door opens to the salesman and he didn’t know it could be reversed either. Now that it is set up, it’s perfect for a right handed person! But if you are a leftie, you might like to have the door reversed so the dryer sits to the left of the washer.

I bought this dryer along with the matching washer. This was an upgrade from my 20 year old machines. This dryer works very well. Very quiet and simple to use. The sensor drying works very well. I see some comments about it takes a long time to dry or it doesn't heat even when on high. I'm pretty sure those issues are due to the dryer being in economy mode. Economy mode air dries before starting the heat and then alternates between heat and air dry. This adds time to the cycle. The normal sensor dry mode has economy mode selected by default. Just a quick tap of the economy mode button before starting the dryer shuts it off. If I'm drying a load that I have extra time, I'll use economy mode. Most of the time, I shut it off. I highly recommend thoroughly reading the manual. There is quite a bit more technology going on with these new HE washers and dryers. I have read the instructions a couple of times because I have missed a few things here and there. The connection to the app is awesome. I can look right on my phone and see how much time is left. It sends a push notification to my phone when cycle is complete. No more forgetting about the clothes and coming back to cool, wrinkled clothes. I highly recommend this dryer along with the matching washer.

    Buy a different dryer

This is the worst dryer I have ever owned. The only saving grace is that it does dry clothes eventually. The electronic controls are a nuisance. None of the presets are near what I need, so I have to set each load appropriately. It takes several minutes to set each load because the keypad is quite touchy and doesn't always cooperate. As for the presets, I don't understand how it saves energy when a load set on medium heat takes over an hour to dry, and it only took 40 minutes in my old dryer. I agree with other reviewers that sometimes a load has to go in 2x to be totally dry. The drop down feature on the door is also pretty worthless. I have struggled with this expensive dryer for over a year, and I regret not getting another Kenmore - turn the dial on the timer, set the temperature and push start!

This washing machine is quiet and has all the bells and whistles. I like the deep drum and am fortunate to be tall enough to get the clothes out from the bottom of the washer. I have been slightly disappointed with the ability for stain removal even when using a product such as oxi clean since my old washer with an agitator immediately got any stain we treated with oxi clean out. This washer has failed on two occasions to remove treated stains. Also, there isn't much overriding of the pre set programming and small heavy duty loads take an hour and 39 minutes to wash which is the same as a large heavy duty load. I'm missing our old washing machine with agitator but don't miss the belt going out and our clothes being a wet mess. We've only had the new washing machine for a month so maybe it's just a matter of getting more familiar with all the electronics.

Started with front loaders from another brand. That didn't go well so we changed to LG top load machines and all was right with the purchase. These machines were just introduced a month before we bought them and they fit between the lower priced front controls that had good reviews and the high priced steam machines but had all the features of the top line without the steam feature we didn't need. Super quiet, smooth, high speed spin. Good cleaning with less water, and like the slow close glass top on the washer and the dual open door on the dryer. So far very happy with the LG's and Best Buy's sales consultants and exchange policy!

I like this dryer a lot. I read the instructions and learned how to get it to sense when my cloths are dry and my husband tells me that we have been using less natural gas on average since buying this dryer. I really like how the door opens different ways and the fact that it is costing us less to operate than our old dryer. Things should get better as time goes by and I really appreciate the quality that appears to be designed and built into this product. I really hope it is very reliable for many, many years to come like my old dryer.

Purchased to replace a 10 yr old Samsung that requires longer and longer rime to dry clothes. Read the reviews about dampness with regular cycle so has been using superdry cycle often. Clothes come out very dry with this dry level. The one time I did dial down to moderately dry, clothes did come out a little moist. Likes the wrinkle free function that rotates the cycles randomly when clothes are left in after cycle the s done bc I cannot empty it right away. Overall, like dryer a lot. Don’t need all the bells and whistles.

This dryer has 7.3 cubic feet of space and nine drying programs so that you can complete your laundry loads as needed, specifically I love the advanced sensors that stop the dryer when the clothing is dry enough which saves energy. An easy-to-use console on this LG high-capacity dryer ensures efficiency of operation. My wife loves to use it, the door opens two ways(from left to right and from up-down). Overall excellent dryer.

I really like the dryer a lot. Technology upgrade for me, turning the knob with the light, etc. It works great. The only thing I do not like is the door can open sideways and down, but doesn't go all the way. I would wish I could open it to the right and have it go against the washer, but it just sticks out and only opens 75%, and if you open it to go down, it doesn't go down all the way, it only goes about 50% down. Not counting the door everything else is really 5 star!!!!

We researched many different washer and dryer combos before deciding on these. They have good reviews and our experience has been good since we have had them (1.5 months now). We cannot find anything bad to say about them. We almost went with the Samsung models but upon further review and the great price we got (thank you Best Buy for price matching) we couldn't pass on them. Even when we added the needed parts and warranty it was still a great deal. A+

This dryer is VERY NOISY. None of the "automatic" dryer settings adequately dry the clothes. The dryer is supposed to have a setting that detects when the clothes are dry: but it ALWAYS underestimates, and the clothes are ALWAYS still damp when the dryer shuts off. The ONLY setting that adequately dries the clothes is the "Speed dry" setting, where we manually enter a dry time (50-60 min). The only good thing about it is the dual-open door and sturdy lint filter.

It’s a good dryer but it doesn’t heat very high and am constantly having to dry a load 2 times or keep adjusting the settings because it doesn’t save any. I had a previous LG washer and dryer, the top of the line ones, and those I never had a problem with. I do like on this one the door opens 2 different ways which is nice, but the door doesn’t stay open, it keeps closing on you when your trying to transfer clothes from washer to dryer! It’s an okay dryer!

I did a lot of research before purchasing this product and that's really paid off since this is a great product. Not too much you can say about a brand new dryer but it's doing its job and the LG brand is one of the best. Controls are easy and modern with nice light up effects. Delivery and hookup were done by best buy and it's been performing as advertised. Guaranteed price match also came in handy so know you'll get the best price around.

First HE machine so I read reviews and researched extensively on which machine/dryer would match my needs and budget. Just a few weeks in and this set seems to have fit the bill. Few watch outs...make sure if you have any type of pedestal that you have the ability to reach the bottom of washer. Dryer tends to dry up front clothes quicker so make sure to reach in back before pulling clothes out.

I have only had this dryer a month, but so far works well,is quiet, has auto settings, normal etc, that uses a senser to set the time and is usually accurate and only once did I find damp areas in a heavy load. I put in back in a few minutes, it was fine. I love the 2 way door. Never thought I would use it, but I love it. On Manual ,U can set time, temp, etc. I LOVE IT SO FAR.

I looked at several dryers before buying this one. I love It! All the features are very useful and I love that the door opens on the side or from the top which keeps laundry from falling on the floor. It also has an energy saving setting, haven't used it long enough to really notice if this makes a big difference. All in all it's a great machine.

LG is a great advanced designer. The front door has two way to open it when needed. Top latch to open the door is very convenient. It will tilt down about 35 degree I don’t have to bend down to load my clothes in the dryer. I just drop the clothes and close it.The Side handle used to open the door likes other brands. It ran very smooth and quiet.

This dryer is quiet and dries clothes or bedding completely and quickly. Several drying modes to choose from. A great feature is the door that opens two ways: up and down, but also sideways. Would recommend this dryer to anyone looking for an efficient way to dry anything from small to extra large loads.

Would recommend this dryer to anyone. Have had an LG washer for close to 10 years and have been so satisfied with it ( have not had a service man in for repair in the 10 years) so I purchased the dryer. So far it is working great. No complaints. Both washer and dryer get quite a workout. Love LG
