I Love these speakers so much that I bought another pair, to complement the LG sound bars for the other large screen LG TV in my home!!! I understood the connection better after watching some YouTube videos. Pay close attention to the speaker wire with the black stripe. I kept it consistent by connecting it to the black "hook up" on the speaker as well as the black "hook up" on the receiver. The receiver allows you to connect each speaker. If you desire "surround sound", per the LG Specialist, press and hold the treble/bass button on the remote for about 3 seconds, then look for the on/off message on the LG sound bar. Works Great!!! The user manual instructions for the surround sound option, says otherwise.

Just to be clear, they are wireless because there are no wires running to the front speakers. But there are wires between the two rear speakers and their amplifying unit which plugs into the wall for electricity. Setup was trivial and connection to LG Sound Bar was automatic and without incident. Also bought speaker stands listed below which worked out perfectly! We are very happy with this setup as the LG sound bar with rear speakers with Dolby and Atmos sound capabilities is awesome!

The rear speakers were a gift for my parents that do not want a full wired system and prefer a sound bar.
This rear set is GREAT for them as it helps them hear what’s going on in shows when they are seated far from the tv (15-20 feet). The surround feature is nice, but I set it up for them as two additional speakers that imitate the sound bar because it helps them hear dialogue during their shows.
The speakers work well, but the range is about 20feet. When I tried to set it up a foot further the sound kept dropping out.
Easy set up (plug in and they sync with the log soundbar).

I purchased the LG SPK8 rear speakers to go with LG SK9Y soundbar and wireless subwoofer. I had high expectations with these, as I have been blown away by the capabilities of the SK9Y. Now these expectations were partially met. The sound quality is phenomenal compared to most dedicated surround speakers in its price range (ahem, Samsung). But one thing is occasionally when content uses just the rear speakers without any output from the fronts, the subwoofer drops out. The subwoofer only seems to output sound if the front channels also output sound. That seems logical, right?
Well, when hooked up this way, the rear speakers are crossed over at the same frequency as the soundbar, maybe even higher I don't know for sure. All I know is it can be quite jarring when it happens. As sounds you hear 90% of the time sound rich and deep, then all of the sudden the sound gets thin and distant for a brief second until output from the soundbar starts again. Again it rarely happens as most content has output constantly from the front speakers. I originally thought it was interference but after moving sub, andrear module, and router, and everything else I can think of, IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN.
I am fairly picky about sound, but not as much as some. But one thing I do expect is consistent sound from speakers. Was happy with soundbar before adding rears, and when they all work together you can't beat it for this type of setup. But that small nitpick about how the rears were implemented into the setup, are something to consider if you are picky about your sound. If you are oblivious to things like this you will love this product. Otherwise it will bug the heck out of you when it happens. Just my humble opinion, take it for what it's worth.

I've had the SPK8-S rear speakers for several weeks now so I feel comfortable reviewing them. They are paired with the LG SP8YA soundbar. When I first hooked them up I got nothing but static, even though the source I was playing was 5.1 surround. I searched the internet trying to find a solution and found several possible fixes. I tried them all to no avail. I called LG support which offered no solutions, even though I had a supervisor call me. LG offered for me to ship them the speakers AND soundbar to "fix" them. Before I went to that extreme though, I did a through internet search and finally found a solution for me.
I have an LG OLED TV. Some of the newer LG TVs have two similar features called "TV Sound Mode Share" and "Soundbar Mode Control". These are supposed to let the LG TV and LG Soundbar work more closely together. Both of these settings MUST BE TURNED OFF for the rear speakers to work. While every other thing I tried failed, Once I turned off these two "features" on the LG TV, the speakers worked perfectly! They have been working flawlessly since then and I am very happy with the sound quality and output. I have the receiver for the rear speakers approximately 4ft from the soundbar and have never had a glitch.
It's a shame that the LG support team apparently doesn't have a list of potential fixes for problems like this, several of which I easily found in forums online. I'm just glad I was able to find the solution before I returned them to the store or shipped them to the factory.

Paired with LG SQ80QY soundbar in basement setting. Just to be 100% clear, while these pair "wirelessly" with the soundbar, they are wired to a receiver unit (smaller than a typical modem). They are about 16' away from the soundbar and paired easily. They have really boosted the overall sound quality while watching a movie and add an additional 140 watts of power. Music sounds very good through them as well.

Great sound. Easy connection to my LG sound bar.
I downgraded because the sound seems to be equally coming from the sound bar and these satélite speakers rather than a directional sound effect. It may be because I’m using an optical cable rather than the HDMI input between the TV and the sound bar or the video content I’m watching does not support directional surround sound effects. Not much instructions provided.

I have 2 older "wired" surround sound systems gathering dust in my basement. We moved 3 years ago and I never got around to mounting the speakers and running the wires to my receiver for either system, so I just purchased a mid range priced 2.1 soundbar. I recently purchased a LG SK-10 Atmos Soundbar and now with these rear speakers it sounds so much better than the older 2.1 sound bar they replaced. Sounds great and installation was super easy and the setup works seamlessly.

The speakers are great quality to the existing sound bar. They were easy to set up and automatically connected. If you have a new LG sound bar with Dolby Atmos these are a must have to further enhance sound.

I purchased these to go along with my LG soundbar. It was super easy to set up - basically plug and play. It all synced up pretty much on its own. The sound is great as well! It creates an amazing surround sound. I have had stereos and amps to create surround sound in the past and really like the sound on this one. Catch it on sale and it's a great value. Would be nice to be fully wireless, but for the price, you can't beat it.

No issues with GX Soundbar

I know a lot of other reviews have cited issues with these such as dropped connection, quiet sound, or misleading marketing on wireless verbiage. I purchased these to pair with the new LG GX Soundbar (GX OLED matching model), and I have not experienced any of these issues related to this product specifically. First of all, nearly all so-called wireless rear surround speakers like this have some kind of cord, since the satellite speakers need to be provided power somehow (we don't live in a world of Tesla with wireless electricity yet!). Secondly, any issues I've encountered have been with 1. Figuring out the nuances of picking the proper LG smartphone app to configure the complete soundbar setup (including these rears), 2. Figuring out the correct Sound Effect to use on the LG soundbar for the content being consumed to get a 5.1 experience as expected, and 3. General flakiness with eARC. None of these things are issues with this specific product, but the LG home theater setup in general, that unfortunately takes a lot of time scouring the internet through forums to piece together enough documentation to figure out. These rear speakers, specifically though, have worked well with my setup with no issues, and produce decent rear sound quality.

While I did not decide to keep the soundbar, I will note that these surround wireless speakers were an absolute necessity (and a steal at this price) for the SK10Y setup. Without these surrounds, you get a "sort-of" feeling of Atmos using things like the test videos available on Vudu but adding the surrounds creates a sudden epiphany. Without them you can feel sounds move across you from left to right, but adding these suddenly adds depth so it truly feels like sounds circle around your listening area and are easily tracked in terms of in front of and behind you. Highly recommend grabbing these if you're getting the SK10Y.

The setup was pretty simple. I feel like them calling them wireless is a bit disingenous because they still require speaker wire going to the wireless hub. I knew going into it that they weren't wireless, but I think less tech savvy people won't expect any wires. The sound quality is pretty good considering the price you pay for them, and the pairing process to the sounder couldn't be easier.

We purchased these two speakers to help fill out the sound from our LG 5.1.2 sound bar. They paired up instantly, work flawlessly. I love the subtle yet present sound generated from them when the movie or broadcast has the appropriate tracks.
We couldn't be more pleased. I was afraid that the rears would be too loud or intrusive like the Samsung version of the rear speakers were.
Great product and a complement to an already amazing sound bar

Got these to go with the SYN9GY soundbar. Coupled easy. Just plug in speakers and plug receiver into wall. BAMM. Automaic 7.1 surround. Watched Apocalypse now and was VERY impressed. Good Also as you can hide the receiver behind couch if you have an outlet there. I got the sonos speaker stands to go with these and they fit nicely and you can hide the wires in the bar of speaker stands (sold separately)

Got the rear wireless speakers to complete my home theater set-up. Although not the loudest, they add the perfect amount of sound to the rear to immerse you in your content. Keep in mind that these are somewhat of a hybrid wired/wireless as the module connects wirelessly, but you then have to run speaker cables to them from the module.

If setup right and with the right angles you can find yourself in the mix of most tv shows and movies with the sounds buzzing from left to right of you. These speakers are for the environmental parts of your movies they are not the main speakers. The sounds are very crisp and sharp and at times until you get used to them will have you looking for sounds that are only part of your movie that you never noticed before.
The setup part was easy on my end they synced right up without having to do anything except plug them in.

Just purchased a Samsung TV and wanted to compliment it with a sound bar and rear speakers. These by far blew away everyone I heard. The feeling of a theater doesn't say enough. The highs, the lows, midrange, people speaking with background sound, all sound incredible. If this is in your price range, or, if it's less than you wanted to spend, this sound bar sounds better than a few that were double the price. I recommend it.

Setup was fairly simple, However if you have another LG soundbar in your home or in close proximity, would be a good idea to unplug the other unit when pairing. The first time I paired my unit connected to my brothers soundbar instead of mine... Quick fix though.
