I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the 86-inch LG TV, and I must say, it left me utterly mesmerized. This review aims to provide an in-depth analysis of why I found this TV to be an absolute game-changer in the world of home entertainment. From its stunning visuals to its immersive audio, the LG TV truly exceeded my expectations.
Visual Brilliance:
One of the standout features of the 86-inch LG TV is its breathtaking display. The sheer size of the screen creates an immersive viewing experience like no other. Whether you're watching movies, sports, or playing video games, the vibrant colors and sharp details bring every scene to life. The 4K resolution ensures crystal-clear visuals, making you feel like you're part of the action. The HDR technology further enhances the contrast and brightness, resulting in a truly cinematic experience.
Sleek Design:
In addition to its impressive performance, the LG TV boasts an elegant and sleek design. The slim bezels and minimalist stand allow the screen to take center stage, adding a touch of sophistication to any living room. The TV's slim profile seamlessly blends into any decor, creating a seamless and modern aesthetic.
Smart Features:
The LG TV is equipped with a range of smart features that enhance the overall user experience. With webOS, navigating through apps and streaming services is a breeze. The intuitive interface allows for easy access to a wide range of content, including popular streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. The Magic Remote, with its voice control capabilities, adds convenience and makes searching for your favorite shows or movies effortless.
Immersive Audio:
To complement its stunning visuals, the LG TV delivers an immersive audio experience. The built-in speakers produce rich and clear sound, filling the room with cinematic audio. Whether you're watching an action-packed movie or listening to your favorite music, the audio quality is top-notch, creating a truly immersive environment.
Room for Improvement:
While the LG TV offers an exceptional viewing experience, there are a few areas where it could be improved. Firstly, the remote control could benefit from backlighting, making it easier to use in low-light conditions. Additionally, while the built-in speakers are impressive, connecting external speakers or a soundbar could further enhance the audio experience for audiophiles.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the 86-inch LG TV is a true masterpiece in the world of home entertainment. Its stunning visuals, sleek design, smart features, and immersive audio make it a standout choice for anyone looking to elevate their viewing experience. Whether you're a movie enthusiast, a sports fan, or a gaming aficionado, this TV will transport you to a whole new level of entertainment. Invest in the LG TV, and prepare to be captivated by its brilliance.

LG’s 86” Class UR7800 Series LED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV is an absolute game-changer in home entertainment. From the moment you turn it on, you are treated to an awesome 86-inch screen that fills your room with breathtaking views. The 4K UHD resolution is amazing to look at, bringing out every detail so clearly that you feel like you’re in the scene.
But it’s not just about the picture quality – the smart features on this TV are seriously impressive. The WebOS platform provides easy access to all your favorite streaming services and apps, so you’re never short on entertainment options. And thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, streaming in high definition is as easy as it can be.
But what really sets this TV apart is its advanced graphics technology. HDR and TruMotion 120Hz combine to deliver incredible contrast and clarity of motion, making action sequences pop and landscapes come to life like never before. And let’s not forget the design – sleek and modern, it’s a great addition to any home theater system.
All in all, the LG UR7800 Series is a real powerhouse. Whether you are a movie buff, a gamer, or just a high-tech enthusiast, this TV is sure to impress. Trust me, once you experience entertainment on an 86-inch screen with 4K resolution, you can’t go back.

The best big screen TV for the price of 2023

Let me just preface this review by saying the "for the money" rating is 5/5.
I upgraded from a low end 2017 55 inch, and size wise, the difference is substantial. This is like the TV equivalent of buying a new graphics card if yours is 10 years old; if you aren't already use to it, the size is going to completely change the experience you're gonna have with any content, almost making old stuff feel new again.
That being said, The picture quality is really good, but certainly not perfect. The direct-lit screen is actually remarkably close (to the eye) to OLED in black depthness, and there is very little halo around bright spots. Unfortunately, where it is lacking, and probably the biggest difference you will see between this and a TV 3x more expensive, is color uniformity when there is a flat constant color across the screen. You can see darker spots and lighter spots and lines where the LEDs are. If you are viewing content or actively playing a game, you're almost surely never going to notice it to the point it makes your experience detrimental. However, if you're using the screen as a computer monitor, you're definitely going to see it very often. Again, I do want to emphasize that it "isn't that bad", and for the price, completely acceptable.
The input lag could be a little better, but still very playable. Maybe not good enough for gaming competitively, but who's going to be doing that on an 86 inch. The lack of hdmi 2.1 and 120hz is a bummer, but you are gonna pay 2x as much for a tv exactly the same with just those features. Considering very few or no games (especially on consoles) run faster than 60fps in 4k anyway, and there are massive diminishing returns on framerates above 60, as a life long gamer and media enthusiast, it's really, for the time being, not a big deal. However, if you want to "future-proof" your tv, this could be a deal breaker.
The worst thing about this tv is the user interface. It runs a little choppy at times, is a bit clunky and annoying to use, and is the worst user interface of any TV brand I have owned. Turning the tv on for the first time without an internet connection was a nightmare. This doesn't matter much to me as I will almost always be playing from an external device as opposed to the smart tv functions, but, for some, I can see this as being a huge bummer.
But, also, for those people, they would probably use it enough to get used to it.
The sound is nice and loud, but can distort a bit with certain high frequencies, and has very little low frequencies, but still overall very good . I think most people going for a tv this big will also invest in some kind of sound system, so I can't really see this ever being a deal breaker.
Mounting was easy and took about 30 minutes with someone helping me. The tv is heavy but still very manageable for 2 average sized adults.
Unless money is of no meaning to you and you demand the absolute best, this is the tv to buy. You are getting 90% of a 3k tv for 800 bucks. If you opt to spend more, the diminishing returns on what you get will be crazy. If you have a $1000 budget (all in with mount and taxes), and you have the space for it, i
I would 100% recommend getting this over a 50 inch OLED or other "high end display", the image quality on this is good enough and the size is simply epic...

Love my LG TVs I brought a 75 inch TV LG love the quality love the size so I decided to buy a 86 inch LG TV only thing I wish my TV came with was a smart remote but the one that I brought did not come with one, but I am thinking about ordering one but other than that the picture quality is not perfect but it is really great for the price. Love the fact that you can also search the web off this TV not the fastest. At searching the web but that is a cool feature that Vizio and other TVs do not have it is a very big TV easy to set up also love the fact that the shipping was very fast from Best Buy. The shippers were very helpful and bringing the TV into my house, the quality of the color is very good TV is very loud still looking to add a entertainment set to it I recommend anybody that wants to buy a cheap huge TV with awesome Awesome colors. Awesome. Sound easy hook up well built TV metal backing TV. A TV that you can search the web if you’re looking for a awesome TV like this, I recommend you to buy this one if they still have it for sale.

Replaced a 65 inch Samsung with this monster 86 inch from LG. We’re very pleased with the eye-popping picture, easy setup and sound.
Being seniors we wanted something easy to use without all the menu clutter, so we don’t use the smart function and stream everything thru a Roku. One remote, no confusion.
I especially like that you can set up the TV to default to Roku’s HDMI so when you turn it on you get the same Roku menu. You don’t have to grab the LG remote and switch imputs.
It also remembers my Bluetooth wireless headset. When I turn on the headphones it automatically shuts off the external speakers. It returns to normal sound when you are done with it… nice and easy!
We don’t do gaming so we don’t have to worry about any potential lag time from a lower refresh rate. It’s absolutely perfect for everyday, normal viewing, no problem with wide angle viewing when I want to peek at the TV from the kitchen!
This is a wonderful set and we highly recommend it!

While hesitant to jump from a 50 to an 86, I certainly do not regret our decision. This has been our theater at home minus the $100 bill. My only complaint is the weight. We have a wall mount that holds an 86 but it seems to be bowing making me extremely anxious that it will fail. But the picture clarity and sound is great.

We were looking for a cost-efficient option for our basement and this TV fit the bill. It has great picture, sound quality and fits the wall nicely. It is heavy so make sure you have the appropriate mount if placing on the wall.

This TV Is the perfect size for my living room and a great value. The picture is clear and perfect for watching football and for when my kids play video games. And perfect for movie nights and lot cheaper than going to the movies. It was very easy to set up and comes preloaded with most streaming platforms. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bigger tv without breaking the bank!!!

We absolutely LOVE our new 86" LG TV. It goes up on the wall of our gymnastics center and literally replaced 4 other TVs! We place pictures and motivating quotes up there for all our young gymnasts to learn from. And what COLOR!! I love it! Thanks for the great deal!

LG TVs do not disappoint; their pictures are vivid and smooth, making my other LCD/LED TVs look mediocre. While the included remote control is on the cheap end, opting for an LG Magic Remote is a worthwhile upgrade. The WebOS and menu may be a bit slow and less intuitive initially, but once the proper configurations are set, it becomes a non-issue.

I love this tv it’s one of my biggest tv purchases I have ever made. The picture is great and the sound is amazing. I was going to get a surround sound but I really don’t need one I keep my volume around 10-13 and that’s pretty loud. I haven’t had any issues other than people telling me not to play games on it because it’s too big. I’m made sure I kept the box for when I make my next move.

In January 2024, we purchased the LG 86" Class UR7800 TV. From our perspective, we shopped around and this TV provides the features for the "right" value price. To start, this TV provides a "BIG" picture experience of watching sporting events and movies in the comfort of our house. We found the TV screen projects a quality picture with brightness and colors. We purchased a sound bar to enhance the theater surround sound. Best Buy delivered the TV with care and on-time.

86” LG tv got this on sale at a great price of $799, what a bargain! Picture is great for the$ and the smart functions work well. Tv is heavy and thick, but I guess you have to accept that at that price point.
