My wife was dreaming of a fully functional and energy efficient dryer to handle the large loads of laundry our family creates. She absolutely loves it!

GREAT Machine That's Way Too Expensive!

Although new to the American market, hybrid clothes dryers have been popular in other areas of the world where energy prices are high. These units take a little longer to dry clothes, but they use significantly less energy to do it and they're also not exhausting heated or cooled air from your house to the outside to boot. The only problem is the initial cost of the unit itself, plus there is a risk of higher repair costs down the line when the machine is off warranty. You WILL want to purchase an extended warranty with this dryer, which unfortunately drives the initial cost of the unit that much more. All in all, I paid nearly two grand for my dryer including extended warranty, the LG stand, pigtail and the dryer itself. I really don't think this energy efficient dryer will ever pay back the premium I had to pay to purchase it, but such is the price of doing the right thing to conserve energy. Power companies need to provide incentives for pioneers of this technology to get units out there and in so doing, the cost of the units will come down with greater production. Btw, Whirlpool also makes a similar model, but I've had such terrible experience with the Whirlpool brand up to now that I wouldn't buy one again for a very long time.
