    Best Smart Watch Period

Let me 1st say, I have tried most smart watches out. Galaxy gear, lg gwatch, samsung gear live, moto 360 now the lg gwatch r. The Gwatch R is by far my favorite out. Pros: Looks Get ready for compliments and questions. The beautiful thing about this smart watch is it looks like a regular watch at 1st glance. Always on screen One of the main things I love about this watch is the option for always on screen. No blank screen here. Each watch face as its unique always on screen/watch face. Watch Faces This has some of the nicest watch faces on the market. All have great function and look very sporty. Think of Formula 1 tag . Screen Plastic oled screen. This screen blows away any smart watch screen on the market. Bright, vibrant and great thing about oled, it only lights the pixels it needs and keeps rest dark, that is how it archives amazing battery in always on mode. Feel Has a very nice quality feel with all metal design Swapable bands The thing I love about this watch is the design where you can use any band. The moto 360 had a poor design where the watch band was installed behind the plastic back. The design resulted in 2 cracking backs and on my 2nd, returned my moto 360 for the gwatch r. Band is standard 22mm and will take any regular band on the market. Battery As I write this, my watch started at 100% battery at 9am. Its now 11:45 pm and I use my watch heavly. On my moto 360, I would be in the teens for battery with the always on screen feature off. Right now, with heavy use, my battery reads 49% and that's with always on screen. Charging cradle Unfortunately, there is not qi charging but the dock lg uses for its watches is a close second. Simply set your watch on included charger and in around an hour, your fully charhed. Latest specs: Moto 360 opted for outdated Texas instruments CPU. Lg opted for snapdragon 400. Faster, snappier and quicker overal oh, and with better battery life to boot. Android wear OS This watch like the moto 360, gear live, Asus zen watch and lg gwatch is all powered by Googles latest OS android wear. Uses google now voice recognition and voice commands and makes Samsung's svoice look like outdated software. Dead on with the best voice recognition software out and a rapidly growing app store. This is the future of smart watch OS's. Cons: No qi charging I was spoiled with my moto 360 qi charger but I'm over it. Bottom line if you want a very sport smart watch that looks like a regular watch at 1st glance and will get you through what I'm guessing pretty close to 2 days, and able to use any watch band, this is your best bet. Android wear is almost in beta and will only get better with time. Go for it, you won't regret it.

    love this watch

First off, i love the way the watch looks. I've always loved larger sized watches, and i think this one is perfect sized for my frame. It feels real solid and I don't walk around feeling like i have to protect it. Most of the other watches i shopped had that "please don't bump this into something" feel, but this watch has more of a "G Shock" feel. So let me break this watch down for everyone: Frame: a bit heavy but very solid. The side button does seem to stick out a bit much, but it's not bothersome. The watch face is nice and clean and I've never had any issues looking at a square object on a round screen with the exception of the last few words of a text message being faded out a bit. The heart sensor on the back is a little odd. I've ran it many times and I've noticed that it is a little inconsistent. I work for fire/ems and a hospital. I have double checked it to a stethoscope and is right on the money many times, and 30 beats a minute off at other times. I wear my watch pretty tight too, so I'm not so sure how else that can be fixed without moving the watch to the bottom side of your wrist. Band: i hated this band the first few days, but it softened up fairly fast and now i like it. It is on the small side for people like me that have larger wrists, really wish the band was longer. Battery: so i almost took this watch back for a refund after a few days. Between the band and battery, i just thought for $299 it wasn't worth the money. My watch received a firmware upgrade immediately after turning it on and i noticed my battery was draining fairly quick. About 4 days afterwards, my Samsung Galaxy S5 received an OS upgrade from android 4.4 to android 4.4.4 . Prior to the upgrade, my watch discharged at almost 6% an hour, and the watch never got more than 18 hours of use. I had the watch set to only display when i touched it to save battery and 18 hours was the max. This was incredibly frustrating knowing that my watch may not last long enough to make it back to the charger every night. After i received the 4.4.4 OS on my phone, my watch went from discharging at 6% an hour to 1.3% an hour. I now get about 2 days of use before needing to recharge it. This made me realize that the watch is really more of extension of the phone than a stand alone device. I've since added many more apps to my watch and haven't noticed any extra battery drain. Overall, after the few weeks I've owned it, I've now come to love this watch. Its real nice to be able to look at your texts, calendar, time, phone calls, emails, weather, music play controls, ect., without having to pull your phone out of your pocket. Both jobs i have don't want you to use your cell phone in public, and this watch is a great way to access and monitor your phone while being very inconspicuous about it. The app market is still very weak, but i could see a lot of potentially sweet apps coming. Also, the hardware specs give me confidence that LG will continue to provide this watch upgrades abs support for years to come, preventing this watch from becoming obsolete any time soon. I hope this helps someone. I had many questions that i couldn't find answers for, so i hope my experience will shed a little light on any concerns you have.

First Android Wear Device - Very Happy!

This is my first Android Wear device and I am very happy with it. I have been wearing for about a week and the only complaint that I have is battery life. The G Watch R barely lasts the entire day. I did find that some faces seems to drain the battery more than others. I did extensive research on smart watches and chose this one because of features. I had some Best Buy rewards burning a hole in my pocket so I only paid $180, which seems more of a reasonable price that $300. Functionality is great I have 3 email accounts and it works great with all 3. I downloaded Coffee SMS and it is the best one out there I have seen. I have had no issues with voice recognition, it works great.

Tried the Moto 360 and Returned it Due to display resolution and the black bar on the bottom, I know big deal but the Moto team should have figured out another solution, LG did. So I just received my LG-G Watch R and cannot be more pleased with the quality and performance of the LG. Although I must say, i miss the Moto charger.

    Awesome watch

So far this watch is amazing. I have no clue what the real battery life is because I've been messing with it too much. Seems like it will be fine. It feels like it has a better build quality compared to the other round android wear watch. $300 is a pretty steep price, but worth it if you can afford it.
