I like this phone. The phone itself works well and the dual screen is the added bonus that tipped it over the scales for me. The foldable screen makes a great stand while watching vids. Good speaker and microphone. The front display is really nothing more than the clock. Great battery power. The phone is no bigger than the Samsung line and only slightly heavier with the dual case but you do need to open the case to answer the call. The speakerphone is a problem as others have stated; when on it lasts about a minute then drops the call. The voice recognition is great as is the spell assist; however it does not have the word-ahead prediction like Samsung which is a feature I do miss. You must type every word since it does not offer the next logical word in you sentence. More positives than negatives so I am good with the phone.

I've owned several lg phones over the years and I've member regretted any of them. This one is no exception. Everything works like it should. It's fast, responsive, and reliable. The dual screen may not be your thing, but it is removable quick makes this a really versatile device. If you're into gaming, the dual screen setup as a controller is fantastic, and is realy customizable. I've used this feature in emulation and you never have to worry about missing what's going on because you're giant fingers are in the way and no extra peripherals needed. While it's not great for anything that would heavily utilize trigger buttons, it makes gaming pretty solid on this device when not playing most free to play pay-to-tap mobile games. Even my wife, who is definitely not into tech and couldn't tell you an iPhone from a Motorola really loves this device and is planning on getting this or the newer models in the future. As a bonus there is virtually no bloatware on this device and I've only had to disable Facebook and instagram.

I’ve had Samsung Notes for yrs but the cost on the Notes are utterly ridiculous now. This phone was at the price point I wanted and I enjoy using it. The ease of use with the software is a weak spot in my opinion. Using the double screen is nice but can add some good weight to the phone so I just use the phone itself until I can get temper glass for the secondary screen and front. P.S. It’s very hard to find cases for this phone for some reason. For Lg g8 cases are plentiful, not for the g8x. Just keep this in mind if you want to this as a single phone. Sorry about all the (for)s.

This phone is a great price...for 650 each, me and my wife were able to get the phone and the dual screen (usually sold separately). We were thinking about buying the Samsung galaxy fold but we literally got two phones for the price of just that one phone alone. It has an amazing camera and it takes great outdoors/day and night pictures. It can hold an excellent battery charge. I really recommend this phone.

Purchased this LG phone with no expectations except hoping that it would run better than my previous one (which was a different brand). I chose the LG G8X dual screen as I'm self employed and do a lot of multi tasking. After 9 days, I'm really enjoying it! It has made answering emails while simultaneously viewing PDF attachments a breeze. Headphone jack is a must for me as I prefer using headphones while on conference calls. The camera works great and has more features than my old phone. Pictures have been crisp and clear. The phone is definitely heavier, with the dual screen case. However, I anticipated that. What I really appreciate, over a foldable phone, is having the option to remove the phone from the dual screen, and just take the phone. So far I am very happy with my purchase.

I purchased this phone for my husband and he loves it. He’s enjoying the dual screen, a magnetic plug, it comes with its own case, takes amazing quality pictures and a microfiber wipe to clean his screen. His only complaint is that it’s heavier than his last phone. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone looking to upgrade.

Best Dual Screen Phone for the Money!!

This is The Best Dual Screen Phone for the Money!!...It's way cheaper than paying $2000 for a Samsung Galaxy Fold. Plus, this phone gives users the option of attaching & detaching the Dual Screen & switching from Dual Screen mode to Regular Single Screen Mode. The Galaxy Fold doesn't offer this option, but it costs twice as much. This phone is the most AFFORDABLE & Practical Alternative to the Galaxy Fold. Also, the Unlocked Version works PERFECTLY on the Verizon Network.

Great price at 399$, at the beginning battery life and charging speed were terrible, almost to the point of wanting to return the phone, but I figured out that if you used the medium battery saving profile and use a quick charge 4.0 21w+ charging brick, both issues were solved and even with the dual screen on, battery life is great. The dual screen usual an adapter that can get lost and does not give the max 21w, can be easily lost and disconnected, aswell as being difficult to find a replacement and expensive, but acceptable. and the dual screen case is very fragile, aswell as glass screen protectors for it are very rare and expensive, ended up buying about 50$ worth of screen protectors because of this+8$ for the charging adapter. Wide view mode is very appropriated, and can be unlocked to all apps through a third party app, which makes it much more worth it. I enabled Tablet mode since I felt it works well with the dual screen by changing the DPI in dev options to 720. All in All, owning the phone went from hating it, to liking it, to loving it. My second option was the Samsung S10 lite, but it was 50$ more expensive on sale and after missing the sale went up alot, I wanted it for the 45W charging and better software, but in the end, I didnt feel I lost much since I loved the dual screen, also I bought it since verizon doesn't allow chinese phones, these would be my perfered, but for what I can get, this was good, last phone was a Razer Phone 2 for the same verizon reason, and that didn't turn out well at all with reliability, lets hope this one will last, I owned a LG G2, G5 and G7, had issues with all but the G7, but loved them very much. Another thing, I attached Sugru to the dual screen case to make it more rugged, which worked great.

I’m loving dual screen. This is the future right here. Can’t wait for other tech companies to come out with two screens. For multitasking it’s amazing. Better yet is the price here on Best Buy. LG going double in the games. Too bad not a lot of people know about this. Awesome dual smartphone!!

    Game changer! True multitasking

This phone is a game-changer! It allows true multitasking - not just switching between full-screen apps or working on two tiny windows - two full-size screens for your apps/games, etc. Sure the case itself is a bit bulky with the Dual Screen attached, but it's the only way to currently achieve a reliable foldable form factor that won't be prone to creasing/breaking like the Galaxy Fold. The phone's Qualcomm 855 is powerful and the battery is enough for a full day if you're careful with dual screen usage. Luckily, you can simply place it on a wireless charger to top off the battery if you don't want to bring the magnetic adapter with you (or pop the phone out of the case to access the USB-C port). Obviously you can get real work done on both screens, but you can also play games on one screen and get work done on the other one. The in-screen fingerprint sensor is actually superior to the Note 10+ but it's still not as good as dedicated fingerprint readers. LG had some of the best on their V-series phones. There is no face unlock, so I'm taking advantage of Smart Lock (stay unlocked when paired to a trusted device) more. As a flagship-level phone, the price is amazing! This phone keeps the headphone jack, too!

Very good phone, camera, video at UHD (@ 60FPS), good processing, can't complain much. The new dual screen option for the LG GamePad. Since it's new I understand that there won't be enough games compatible with it ... YET! Hope to see more improvement. Maybe even potentially 5G for this model.

I only bought this for the QuadDAC, I am not using it as a phone...I am using it as another portable music player, my main hi res music player is the Sony Walkman NW ZX100 with 128gb internal and sd card slot, all the music in it are Flac and hi res music, which I have been using with the LG, I keep several micro sd card with music already in it..I really like what I am hearing with the LG, almost comparable with the Sony, but it has a DTS X surround setting which is really good, setting is Front not wide and the sound is almost 3 dimensional all in all I am very happy with it, it is cheaper than buying the $1200 Sony Digital music player. If you are looking for a digital music player with high bit rate support then I recommend it, does not play DsD or MQA but, not all player does.

Exceeds all expectations. The possibilities of the 2nd screen aren't obvious until you have a day or two to play but once you do you'll probably not want to go back to a single screen. The reason I love it so much is that it's like having a second device, play video's and listen to content on one screen, research or productivity on the other. Love it!

I absolutely love what LG is doing with the dual screens. The downside with LG is its software and infrequency of updates. The upside is they are priced competitively pretty well specked out... I need to get attention so they offer deals on dual screens.. The g8x is the only dual screen device that's available unlocked. By lg... So unless you have $1,200 for US surface duo the g8x is the only gaming town.

Great phone, no more paying $1000+ for phones. This does all the same things as my Note 9 and I have the second screen for multitasking. I've only been using it about a month and no major complaints. The only issue I've encountered is the fingerprint scanner will not recognize my right thumb no matter how many times I've redone it. I will update if any more issues arise.

I think the product was good. My primary purpose with the device was to find a device that was not outdated, but up to date; and sleek, with easy user-ability. LG difinately hit the mark on that one. As far as OS goes they kept it simple enough, and classic with a twist on modern technology to 2019 standards, the triple screen case that was included. As far as drop testing the device, I did notice a little bit of a flaw. After the first attempt, and only attempt for that matter, it seemed like weight was a bit of an issue. The impact at 6 feet was to much for it. Opon normal, active standards, 6 feet probably isn't the best approach, but in my eyes, I want a device that can pack a mean punch on ram, and look amazing; but still deliver what's needed, if under intense situations. That's why I rated this device at a 4 instead of a five. The price was comparisingly good, and ram seemed like it fit the description. It was the perfect device for my fiancee, as her device speed standards differ from my own. She does forget to close out applications, and isn't aware of processes that run in the background, or how to stop or foreclose them. Over all, LG did great in my book, and eyes; and gets my honest opinion from here on out! -Michael

For the price ... two screens smooth operation great features ... for less than 450 USD ... it's a win/win ... I needed a phone because my old Razer Gaming phone was acting up ... I could not find another gaming phone I liked right now... this is a good transition phone until I find a nice high-end phone to purchase ... the only down side is finger prints ... outside that there is nothing I can complain about it a standup phone from LG ...

Love the dual screens! Extra screen has great folding features. However the whole unit is awkward to use and handle and a bit too heavy to carry around for every day use. Not enough protection from damaging falls with dual screen attached is a concern. Only complaint is that the magnetic charger comes off too easily when charging with the dual screen on. Great phone, has everything I was looking for. Extra screen is added bonus!

This is a replacement for a s8+. This phone is much faster. The dual screen is a plus. Little disappointed that you can't set a personal wallpaper on the dual screen. I've gone 2 days without charging the battery with medium use. Currently using on the Verizon network.

I was gifted this phone as a birthday gift in January of 2021. I was excited to see that I'll have dual screens but was sceptical about the performance since it wasn't an Apple or Samsung. When I say this was the BEST PHONE I'VE EVER HAD, I mean it. The performance was fantastic. Quality was great. I thought for sure I will crack or totally break the outer glass but I found out that the glass is tougher than Superman. My only dislikes were the goofy name and the fact that just months after being gifted with the phone, LG announced that they were getting out of the cellphone business. That hurt! This was a lot of phone for a very good price. Oh and I had the LG Stylo 4 before this one. It cost me about $175 new at Best Buy. That phone if I didn't know it I would have thought it was a Samsung. I really hated to see LG get out of the cellphone business.
