Great android smartphone. Priced less than other comparable smartphones. New kit kat operating software seems to work seamlessly. Camera is fine but have to admit Iphone 5s is better. Battery life is not bad but could be better and not getting a 32gb would be my only gripe.

Beautiful screen. Great camera. Not so great battery life or speakers. The system ui randomly crashes and phone just goes to lock screen and sometimes it randomly won't open either the front or rear cameras. Can't be beat for the price. Ridiculously fast processor.

The Nexus 5 is the best kept secret in the Android line. Full of performance with no added bloatware. If you want a no frills high quality phone this is it. CyanogenMod 11 ROM runs perfect on this device.

This is my 3rd Android phone and the quality of the design, construction, and overall user experience is so much better. Hardware - I like the screen size, quality and brightness. I suspect the phone could be too big for one-handed operations for people with small hands, but otherwise it is thin and light and easy to grip. Calls and data - so far, call quality is quite good. Unfortunately I live in a city without Sprint LTE so I don't get the fastest, highest quality data service. When I visited a city with LTE, the phone data feels very fast. Ex) navigated Boston using Google Maps on foot and transit and had no glitches. OS and software - The newest Android OS really does feel much smoother and intuitive. The Google Now service (if you use Gmail) is handy, anticipating directions, reminders and other info you need without you asking. Voice recognition for search is pretty good and I expect will get better as I use it more. Camera - if you want your phone to also be your only high-quality camera, then this isn't the best choice (though I don't know what phone would be...). However, photos are otherwise good quality for sharing over social media and the built-in HDR+ and editing features are helpful for everyday use.

All in all, I really like this phone. I've had it month now. It's really fast. Has no carrier bloatware. It gives you a true Google experience. Only drawbacks( for me at least, even after tech support from Google) are that the conference call feature doesn't work and you HAVE to use Google Voice for your voice mails. These problems are software bugs and can be solved with an update from Google, the only question is when.

I got this phone with the Sprint/Best Buy student promotion. Needless to say, I fell in love with it right from the beginning. It is extremely easy to setup, very powerful, no lag and a gorgeous screen. You will find the sound well more than adequate and even the lower 16 gig model will leave with enough hard disk space for apps if you are habitual of storing your data in the cloud. The only thing that I found to be less than adequate is the battery life, which by no means is deal breaker, might die after a day of intensive use. It would be better to condition your battery(How to do it here : http://dottech.org/17705/tip-condition-your-new-cell-phones-battery-to-make-it-last-longer-but-be-sure-to-condition-it-properly/). After some time you might need an external battery case. But all in all, it is THE best android phone in the market, period.

This is so much better than my old Samsung phone. The battery life on the Galaxy S 2 was terrible. The Nexus 5 battery lasts all day and into the night. The Nexus 5 was tested and is truly unlocked. Despite being sold as a Sprint phone it worked fine with a AT&T card. It has many radios built in and permits access to them. I plan to use it overseas when traveling. I can't say enough about how good the speaker phone is. The sound quality is fantastic! The sales person at Best Buy was outstanding. We experimented with the phone and made sure it was what I wanted. He loaded some apps that have been very useful. I use the voice thing frequently. It works great. I am very pleased with this device.

Generally is a really good phone but with some problems. I upgraded my old but still nice working iPhone 4. I really like my new nexus 5 phone but it has some problems. First of all battery life is really problematic and short. The other thing that might annoy you is that there is no SD card slot so you should always check the status of your memory. And the camera is really good but it has a little lag which is not a problem for me but can annoy some. And finally the print network is not that much good and some times my phone has no signal, let alone LTE or 3G

This phone is amazing. Great 5 inch display, superb camera, amazing Android experience the way Google intended. Sure some of the features of other phones are nice, but the snappy performance and clean look make up for it. The only Heel is the network. They are doing work, but right now the now network is nearly unusable. I would recommend to everyone in the market for a new android device, just maybe not on Sprint.

The Nexus 5 is a great smart phone, very nice screen, decent camera and battery life. The fact that it is unlocked means you take it to whatever carrier you want, but avoid all the crummy apps the carriers like to install. Being a Nexus device, you also get updates to android much faster than you would if you were waiting for the carrier to deliver them.

Great phone but not enough storage

I really like the size of this phone. It's feel comfortable in my hand and I'm able to use it one-handed. The picture quality and size of the screen is great. So it's comfortable watching videos, or looking over photos and videos you have taken. Speaking of which, this phone has really great photo and video capture capability. With this phone, you truly don't need a separate point-and-shoot camera anymore. Another thing I like about his phone is it is plain Android as Google intended. I have used other interfaces (such as Samsung TouchWiz and Motorola Blur) and I always come back to the simplicity of Google's interface. My only real complaint is that 16GB has turned out to not be enough storage and there isn't a microSD slot for expansion. I have always have a had phone with a microSD slot before this one and I thought I wouldn't need it. But I've learned my lesson. It's microSD slot or bust the next time.

Pretty decent phone. Good volume and call quality. Took a few charges before the battery started lasting all day. Downsides. Best buy carries no cases or screen protectors for this, and case selection is soso. Power button is touchy even with a case and find it turnin. On in my pocket.

Nexus 5 is one of the best android phones in the market. With such a cheap price, its hard to get with top end specs. The not so good: Sound is not that good, No external memory card storage.

The best phone value at the time of purchase. Paid full unsubsidized price in order to get a free year of service on the student program. Paying $37.50 a month to pay it off in a year and also paying $7.50 for taxes on the free plan. So, for a total $45 a month for the phone and service. Great deal. After the free year of service I can take this phone to almost any carrier (except Verizon) since it is carrier unlocked. Can't do this with any other Sprint phone. Lots of support on the XDA forums. It's a great phone since it's not loaded up with the normal carrier bloatware. It's fast and responsive. The battery will last about a day and a half average. The only thing I don't like is the material the back if made of. It's kind of grippy so it's a little difficult to get in and out of my pocket. The HTC One X was much easier to slip in and out.

Upgraded to the Nexus 5 from a Galaxy Nexus and it is night and day difference. I could barely make it to 2pm on a normal day with the Galaxy Nexus and now I can make it through the entire day with the Nexus 5. Everything runs very smooth with no slow downs.

Like the Nexus 5 phone, but it's super fragile. Bought the phone thinking it would save me money in the long run. There weren't cases or glass protectors available at Best Buy, so I left the store without a case. Didn't get the insurance since I had my other phone for 2.5+ years without any incidence. Getting out of the car, the phone fell out of my pocket & instantly the glass cracked. It's a bit complicated for me since I'm not so techie. It's smarter than me! I'm not liking the text messaging software this phone has. Navigating through all the screens, apps & software has been frustrating. Will be trading this in for a $100 phone & a 2-yr contract.

It is very good Phone. The best thing is this phone is branded as Sprint Nexus 5 but it is unlocked, which means it can be used on Sprint as well as anywhere in the world on GSM network.
