This is one of those machines that you don't realize how bad you need it until you see what it can do. As a person with allergies, I always knew that air quality was important when outside, but how many of us are ever really that concerned about our INSIDE air quality? It really has never crossed my mind as we have a newer built home with well fitted windows. Then I plugged this machine in! In three days, I popped off the back filter and checked the first level (the filter has three stages with the first 'screening stage' filter that can be washed off once a month). using just this first stage filter as my guide to how my inside air quality was for us, I must admit that I was pretty shocked at how much 'stuff' was captured by the LG PuriCare. I was even MORE impressed when my husband was cooking himself some breakfast, and had included the use of hot sauce. The sauce was pungent enough for my nose to tingle from the capsaicin in the air. But I really took notice when I hear the LG Puricare machine kick into 'high gear', and the air quality guide went to red [from constant green] and the fan could be heard much more easily than it had been since I plugged it in from the start. It actually sensed that the air quality had changed and took steps to clear the air! For me, that was pretty darned impressive! The machine is pretty much plug and play. You can toggle the read out setting to show you the PM particles in the air (dangerous air), by size. It can show the readings by 1.0, 2.5, and 10. There is a handy little chart on the side of the machine that shows you the readout levels for safety and dangerous air qualities. The three stage filter as mentioned before is able to be washed off monthly, with the other two stages suggested change filter rates of one year each. I did have to contact LG to find out where the filters could be purchased, but I'm certain that a direct purchase from LG will not be an issue, nor will future retailers as this is such a new product, the filters are simply not in stock as of yet. I'm good with this as I do have a year. The machine itself is INCREDIBLY QUIET!!! Color me impressed! We have it set up in our family room and can only tell that it's on when it goes into "turbo mode" by itself. Since we have it set to automatically function on its own, the fan will fluctuate according to it's need to clear the air on a case by case basis. I'm extremely happy in knowing that it has a plasma ionizer cleaning out the air, it sterilizes and cleans viruses and bacteria that can be carried by air. I'm really happy to hear that it also takes care of 99% of any formaldehyde often found in newer building products used in our homes. The manual doesn't tell in deep depth of all about capabilities of this machine, but if you go to the LG Air Purification website,(http://www.lg.com/hk_en/puricare/lg-PS-V219CS), you can find out even more about what this amazing machine is capable of. The website really gets into all of the numerical charts, and the exact pollutants that it cleans out of the air. The charts just showed me in even more depth of the amount of pollutants that are in the air we breathe, and by their numbers, it's pretty nifty knowing that all of this junk is now being filtered out of my home air. I'm really anxious to see just how much dusting this will cut down on after it's been in use for a while, because I can see that after only a few days, that it is indeed cutting down and trapping the dust particles. And I'm certainly excited about the horrible pollen season that we get here in the south every spring. The pollen is so bad that everything is covered in yellow pollen, even with the doors and windows shut tight! I literally could not be happier with this machine!

I bought this for my mom and dad and they love it. It's quiet, powerful, and easy to use. The air is easily much much cleaner. I love that it's easy to clean the filter so you don't need to buy a replacement.

Really like size and level of air purification. Does a great job of keeping dust levels and odors way down. Only negative is the LED display lights on the top operational panel are too bright at night (we have it in the bedroom) so I need to put a small cloth over them; wish there was a way to dim them.

This was the best money spent as this air purifier is amazing. It clears dust and odors and tells you the size of the particles. There is a sleep mode which is so quiet you don't even know the machine is on. It also lights up in different colors red, orange, yellow and green which tells you the condition of the air quality. This is a definite must buy if you have allergies or just want to breathe good fresh air.

I bought this because in the reviews I read said it was good for dust. It helps with odor & maybe airborne dust. Does not help for the dust on things that occur everyday
