After having my old Omen monitor for so long, I decided it was time to upgrade/update my gaming desktop. With so many options on the market, it can be a bit difficult trying to decide the right one. This is especially true when you are looking for something that won't break the bank. The opportunity came up to give the LG - UltraGear 27" FHD 240Hz monitor a try, so I went for it. Off the bat, one of the biggest drawbacks that I see is how bulky the LG - UltraGear 27" FHD 240Hz monitor is. Depending on your desk configuration, the LG - UltraGear 27" FHD 240Hz monitor will take up a lot of space. So, plan ahead. This, I would say, is one of the biggest drawbacks of the LG - UltraGear 27" FHD 240Hz monitor. Aside from that, the picture quality is actually pretty good. The image is bright and crisp, which is an issue with other monitors on the market. You also get the option of turning the monitor for a horizontal or vertical layout. One other thing that I like is the ability to lower or raise the monitor height. This is a really helpful feature. Overall, the LG - UltraGear 27" FHD 240Hz monitor is a good option for a gaming desktop.

The LG - UltraGear 27" FHD Monitor is an impressive monitor for the price point. It came well packaged surrounded by plenty of styrofoam and was easy to unbox. The necessary cables to hook the monitor up to a computer via a DisplayPort connection came in the box, however, you will need to provide your own HDMI cable should you wish to use one of the two HDMI inputs on the back of the monitor. The monitor does not have speakers buit in, but it does have a headphone out jack on the back side. To control the monitor, there is a multi directional switch under the center of the screen. There is also a red power indicator light that can be turned off and on. The picture quality is also amazing. The monitor shows images in full high definition. It also displays images in HDR. I absolutely love that the screen can be turned out of its normal horizontal position and placed into a vertical position! The included mount also allows for easy adjustment of the tilt and screen height. Also, built into the monitor is Nvidia G-Sync, which allows for smoother image quality by synchronizing the refresh rates of the monitor with the computer's GPU. This is a great monitor at a great price that will give you amazing image quality!

The refresh rate is high and the resolution is pretty good too. However, within less than a month of using this monitor, the screen parts of the screen have burned and become darker, the monitor also doesn't come with speakers

Hi, Edward. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that you're experiencing screen burn-in issues with your LG Monitor (27GP750-B) model, and we want to assist you in resolving this matter. We strive to provide reliable, high-quality products that exceed our customer's needs and expectations. Screen burn-in can sometimes occur when static images are displayed for extended periods, which might explain the darkened areas you've noticed.

One troubleshooting step you can try is enabling any screen saver features on the monitor or using the monitor's built-in pixel refresh function (if available) to help reduce the burn-in effect. Additionally, ensure that the brightness levels aren’t set too high, as this can also contribute to the issue over time. For more help, you may visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-tv-troubleshooting-image-burnin--20152745607830.

As for the absence of speakers, we appreciate your feedback on this and understand how important built-in audio can be for some users. While this monitor doesn't come with speakers, external speakers or a soundbar can easily be connected for a full audio experience.

Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and we'd be happy to guide you further and explore possible solutions for the screen issue. We appreciate your patience and are here to help. ^Juvy LG
