the color presentation is very dull, the stand/overall design is great. ended up buying a BenQ monitor EX2780

Great monitor but the HDMI Port is capped to 100hz so if you looking for this for your next gen console don’t get it!

Dead pixels on arrival. Had about 5-6 connected dead pixels near the top right corner of the screen. Just exchanged it for a new one today, which will arrive in 4 days. Hopefully the new one is issue-free! Fingers crossed.

Disappointing, wasn't as great as advertised compared to other 1440p options

Horrible backlight bleed and my non HDR ASUS 1920x1080 monitor colors look better. I’d skip out on this one, ended up returning it. Full gsync support was nice, but not definitely not worth the price.

BUY THE WARRANTY!! I purchased this monitor in June of 2021 and it completely died less than 3 months later. Conveniently 2 weeks after I could no longer return in store. This monitor has a diode problem that can happen at random and render the monitor useless. It will not power up. This monitor is amazing, if you happen to get one that does not have this fatal issue. Buy the warranty, can't stress that enough. The manufacture warranty is complicated and will leave you without a monitor for an extended amount of time.

Major Issue for X-Box Series S users "over HDMI" This monitor will not let you use Freesync @ 1440p 120hz "OVER HDMI" It will cap you at 60hz 1440 with freesync on, or 120hz 1080p with freesync on. It will however achieve 120hz 1440p with freesync off. Again this is over hdmi. That being said This monitor is incredible if being used for pc over display port. The colors the depth the clarity. If using for a PC I Highly recommend.

Great monitor as others have said. But I have many bones to pick with LG regarding the USB ports on this monitor: The two USB ports at the back of the monitor receive power IF, and ONLY IF, you have the USB-B cable (the one that goes into the square port) plugged into a COMPUTER. No, you cannot plug it into a power source, it has to be for some cosmically stupid reason, a power AND DATA source. To the designers at LG: Were you high on something? Who needs DATA to provide POWER to an LED backlight strip?

First off, i really appreciate LG including all the cables. I thought that was nice. The red trim looks nicer in person than online, but you’ll never see it if using it with a VESA monitor stand. The colors are excellent right out of the box, and after calibrating it, they’re really, really excellent. Mine measures in at 970:1 contrast and 6500k white temp on OSD is actually 6500k. That’s nice. The blacks look black to me. I have no complaints about the black levels. I had zero backlight bleed on my monitor with extremely minimal IPS glow. Maybe the least I’ve ever seen. Overall this has exceeded my expectations and erased all fears i had about the online forums talking about poor contrast. It looks great to me and measures in line with most IPS’s in real world. The motion handling is excellent and i have no ghosting or anything else. The high refresh rate and g sync / freesync make games feel so buttery smooth. It’s my first high refresh rate monitor and it really is a major difference for games. I’ve never felt them be this smooth before. I wanted a monitor to do both gaming and photo editing on and this monitor 100% fit the bill. I’m extremely happy so far.

Cables that came with it wouldnt go to 1080p 120hz. Had to use the Xbox one cables. Also came with a huge scratch on the monitor. It wasnt shipping because it was tightly packed in styrophoam.

I was never able to get the monitor to work correctly, had problems with the buttons too! Had to take back. Maybe just got a bad one

This might be the best 1440p 144hz monitor that exists. I think asus has a $1200 1440p 144hz monitor that may be a tad better, but this LG is $500. Out of the box, its way too bright. Videos look amazing, but reading text is too bright and the black levels are not very black. Here are two suggested settings from TFTCentral.com to make it look good: 1. perfect color accuracy: Set Game Mode to sRGB. Set brightness to exactly 23. You cant change anything else, all the controls are greyed out in sRGB mode. This gives you basically a perfect calibrated display for the sRGB color space (which is most content). This mode is calibrated from the factory and the colors and brightness are almost perfect match to the calibration standards. Everything looks great. 2. If you arent concerned about color accuracy and you want to use more of that wider color space, then use these settings: Set Game Mode to Gamer 1 Reset to defaults by selecting 'Game Reset' and 'Picture Reset'. Set brightness to exactly 23 Set the RGB color values to 58 49 48 This gives you a very similar image to the sRGB mode, except the colors are more vivid. This is nice for some videos and games, but i prefer the sRGB mode for normal desktop use. The TFTCentral.com review tells you exactly what settings produce which type of image quality. Opened the box and found that the monitor screen had scratches on it. Exchanged for a new monitor. Hopefully the replacement will not be damaged then it arrives.

Worst monitor I’ve ever purchased I literally had it for under 60 days and it died and won’t turn on anymore

For those of us that cannot spend $1000+ on a monitor, this gives you the best of pretty much everything. 1440p? Check. 144hz? Check. AMD FreeSync and nVidia G-Sync compatible? Check. Nano IPS? Check. HDR (400)? Check. It even has as low as a 1ms response time (If set to "fastest" setting which DOES show signs of over-pitch). However, when using the "Fast" setting I believe its still under traditional 5ms. There aren't any RGB lights on this monitor but for me this is a plus since already have RGB speakers. It should be noted Windows 10 and its HDR options are still a bit...not perfect? It can sometimes try to override the monitor's HDR settings that the user sets and at times the user may need to restart the application. I would absolutely recommend this monitor because LG has given us the best of almost every stat without making the monitor cost upwards of $800. $500 is an absolute STEAL.

This is my main pc monitor since 2020 and I love it! The colors are beautiful! And the refresh rate and speed are extremely good. if you're into competitive gaming or like to view content on your pc or even edit videos and do creative work I highly recommend this monitor. especially considering that I'm yet to notice any problems with it.

Pretty awesome monitor so far. I spent hours and hours researching different panel types and models. Finally ended up pulling the trigger on the LG ultra gear 27”. So far this thing can do it all. Games look AMAZING, movies look great, and has really good color for photo\ video editing (I did use a monitor calibration tool). The monitor stand is really heavy and sturdy. It’s not the prettiest stand but at least they didn’t skimp on the quality. Can’t recommend this beast enough, super happy with my purchase.

Just chiming in to let everyone shopping for this monitor know that all 3 that I ordered are perfect out of the box, no backlight bleed or dead pixels and the display port are all 144hz and smooth and gsync is working (make sure you use a VESA certified cable by the way). Easy to focus on the horror story RMA stuff with IPS panels so buying 3 at once I was prepared to have to send one or more back, but nope!
