I have a Dell TN display that is decent, but the color shift on the TN is noticeable at times. Picked this up to use as my main monitor now, and am very happy with the results. Ended up getting a second one as a gift because I was totally settled on this as the go-to display in its price category. Note you MIGHT check some of the settings on black stabilization and sharpness (or change the default profile) if text seems slightly blurry outside of games, as mine did.

I just bought two of these for my office setup. Man, they're so much better than the monitors that they replaced. The colors are very deep and accurate. While playing PS4 on them, the games move much smoother. Make sure you're using your display port cable for 120hz+ or use your included HDMI, as they're rated higher than other cables. It's a great value for the money, good stepping stone before you start paying 4k prices. Setup is extremely simple. You snap everything in place and twist the screw tab, takes 2 minutes, tops.

Fantastic pixel response time and no motion blur, supported gsync out of the box with no tweaking. Adjusted colors some out of the box and it looks great! Contrast could be better but isn't distracting, still feels better than most TN panels. I have not seen a better performing IPS monitor for motion and gaming, and I can't stand TN panels for viewing angle and poor color/brightness. This monitor is a winner. When I plugged it in the first time it seemed to take a long time for the monitor to actually start (It was on but not accepting signal or displaying anything on the screen. I actually thought it was defective this lasted so long).

This monitor is a great buy to have 144HZ 2K gaming and is much more affordable than the 144Hz 4K monitors. It also looks very sleek and is a great size.

pros high Refresh Rate is great at handling motion blur Cons Poor quality control by LG my monitor arrived with horrible Bleed, i also saw the same thing happened to another buyer. The contrast ratio is worse than average even for an IPS display. This monitor can't display deep blacks, and this is especially noticeable in a dark room. i played the Resident Evil 2 Remake and it looked like a grey mess. So because of this i returned the monitor and bought a VA Panel i personally rather have deep blacks and a better image than 0-20% better response time. this is still a decent monitor though and if you are used to a TN Panel it would probably look great for you. just note there is a lot of miss leading information on this monitor, 1 ms response time" is generally *still* a lie.because the screen looks so bad in that mode that nobody will use it. they also claim HDR, But This model doesn’t even meet the lowly HDR400 level requierment. with no note of any local dimming support, so HDR is pretty bad also they said it would have Gsync then deleted what they said from their website and put a Gsync Sticker on the monitor to trick people into thinking it has built in Gsync when in fact it is just Gsync compatible.

Thank you for your review of this LG monitor. I am sorry to hear that it did not meet your expectations and that you had to return it. Your feedback is very important to us and will be shared with our product team. The 27GL850-B features a 144 Hz refresh rate that delivers powerful performance so that you can get the most out of your games and videos. It also features G-SYNC technology for smooth gameplay and NVIDIA G-SYNC synchronizes the refresh rates between the GPU and display, eliminating screen tearing and minimizing display stutter and input lag. It has 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles which allow you to view the screen from a wide range of angles. Its 1,000:1 contrast ratio ensures images are crisp and clear with deep blacks and bright highlights. It sounds like the monitor you received may have had some issues that could have been corrected with troubleshooting.

This is the first monitor I've bought in a long time since I've solely been using a laptop for many years. After doing research, I ultimately decided on an IPS screen. This monitor does what I expected it to do. The colors are good out-of-the-box and it has a very good response time. While technically capable of 1ms response times, it's only under the faster overdrive mode. Realistically, you're likely to see the best results with the fast overdrive mode. For the price, it's a great monitor.

I've been keen on buying a 1440p 144hz ips monitor for a while. Many tech channels I've watched have had great things to say about this monitor, so I took the plunge. Assembly was easy, calibrating was a breeze, and the picture quality is pristine. The bump from 1080p to 1440p was noticeable but the real difference is in the refresh rate. Browsing, and gaming is smoother and more responsive at 144hz as opposed to 60hz. If you have the budget and are looking to upgrade I wholeheartedly recommend this monitor.

144Hz looks very smooth. Color is vibrant, Display menu is very easy and full-featured, and the port selection is nice. I do recommend buying a USB hub, though, for the standard Mouse + Keyboard + Speaker set up.

Finally snagged this monitor after days of trying to find it in stock. Glad I waited. +Fast response times, can't see any ghosting in games(using "Fast" preset). +Adaptive Sync(GSync compatible) works great with my 2070 super. Make sure you enable Gsync compatible in Nvidia control panel. +It comes color calibrated out of the box; has the calibration report for my specific unit included inside. +Being an IPS panel, it has great viewing angles. +No dead pixels, color banding or artifacting on my unit. Some very minor gripes: -No swivel on the stand, gotta turn the whole around. -Very minor backlight bleed on the bottom left corner, but not really noticeable during regular use. -Stand is kinda wide and pointy and got my mouse cable hit it a few times while playing which was annoying. Overall, great monitor. Highly recommend getting it(if you can find one in stock, lol).

Great high performance gaming monitor, arguably one of the best in the 27" IPS panel class. What makes it a gaming monitor? The 144 Hz refresh rates. In 2021 we should be seeing more higher refresh IPS panels though, somewhere in the 165-360 Hz ranges. The question is will they have significant overshoot or not? This is where this monitor shines: this monitor pretty much never overshoots because of LG's great tuning.

My first unit had pretty awful color uniformity, but it was a breeze to return it to my local Best Buy store. The second unit that I received was very much perfect. No dead pixels and it had great color uniformity. There were some backlight bleeds and IPS glows, but not very noticeable. If you've waited long for an affordable 1ms 144hz IPS monitor, you should definitely give this a try. Once you've played games on it, you can't really go back to TN monitors.
