Customers admire the UltraGear 45” OLED monitor's expansive screen size, incredibly smooth refresh rate, and immersive curved design, praising the OLED technology for its vibrant colors and deep blacks. However, some users note concerns regarding text clarity and the relatively high price point. A few also mention the monitor stand's size and the lack of built-in speakers.

I was a little nervous at first getting my first OLED anything but now am extremely pleased.
This monitor is beautiful!
I mostly game so the resolution is great for me. I'm 56 so the larger text is great for my eyes.
The beauty is how the colors especially the blacks look. Just amazing. Best buy doesn't do it justice in display in store. I Almost didn't buy it but the reviews were amazing.
It truly is a different experience. Game like The last of us, MSFS, Forza 5 look amazing on it. The Black details with HDR in, WOW!
Even just browsing the web and YouTube look amazing to me.
Also.
Love the bigger vertical space. That's something I always missed on my last monitor.
I'm coming from a Samsung QLED 49" super ultrawide.
So glad I bought it and highly endorsed. I did get it when price dropped so made decision to purchase it easier.

The LG UltraGear 45” OLED Curved Gaming Monitor is a beast of a screen that brings your games to life. The massive 45-inch display with WQHD resolution is super immersive, wrapping around your field of vision with its curved design. The colors are vibrant, and the OLED technology delivers deep blacks and incredible contrast.
Gamers will love the 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time. It makes everything look silky smooth, whether you're playing fast-paced shooters or exploring vast open worlds. Plus, the monitor is FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync compatible, so you won't have to worry about screen tearing or stuttering.
HDR10 support is another big plus, adding more depth and detail to your games with impressive brightness and color accuracy. Setting it up is a breeze, and the sleek design looks great on any desk.
Overall, the LG UltraGear 45” is a dream for serious gamers. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but if you want top-tier performance and an ultra-immersive gaming experience, it’s totally worth it.

Outstanding for gaming!

This monitor works exactly as expected, just fantastic for gaming. The colors are vivid, with lots of contrast in HDR, and the curve is very immersive. I've got it set up at about 30" from eyes, and I really get great immersion in first-person games. As noted by other reviewers, the 3440x1440 resolution is a bit low for this size screen, but for me that works out fine, as hud elements are nice and large at the edges of the screen and easy to see. It is also easier to drive games like Cyberpunk at higher framerates and better quality settings than it would be at, say, 4k or higher.
The monitor itself has a good menu with access to it's various features and presets. I really didn't have to tinker with much, just select the color preset that works for you and the rest is pretty much set. I found gamer 2 to be very vibrant and colorful with good results in some games, but gamer 1 is what I use most often as it looks a bit more accurate while still providing a great depth of color. By default, it will do pixel refreshing each time it goes into sleep mode. I'd like the OLED to last for several years, so I've set Windows to turn the monitor off after 10 minutes of no input and also have done what I can to keep the desktop clear. I've had it about a month, so not that long, but I see no signs of burn-in or anything similar.
This is being used with a computer that is used 90% for gaming, as I have another workstation for work. The text is large and readable, though not as pixel perfect as my 34" monitor of the same resolution. That's all to be expected though given the screen size vs resolution. It is not so poor that you can't web browse or work on. I did notice that the chat boxes in World of Warcraft were not as easy to read, so I had to fiddle with font size a little. Other text on items such as quest log and health bars has been fine, however. I haven't seen issues with the other games I play, which are mostly 1st or 3rd person games.
Between the immersive curve, the high framerate capability, and the depth of color, this has breathed new life into a lot of the games I've been playing. 34" widescreen was decent, but expanding to 45" and wrapping it around my field of vision is so much better. Though the screen resolution is the same, when I fire up a game on the 34" monitor now it feels like I'm missing a good part of the world immersion compared to this monitor. Great product that is very focused on gaming, and does it very well!

Hi, there. Thank you for reaching out about the LG Monitor (45GR95QE-B) model. We understand your concern about encountering display issues, especially after setting everything up. We strive to provide great products and services to ensure a smooth experience. The vertical line you're seeing could be due to a few different factors. We recommend checking the following: Ensure that all cables are securely connected. Try using a different cable or port to see if the issue persists. The image quality and design of the LG 45" OLED monitor is excellent. I stopped by my local Best Buy for some computer accessories, but stopped over to view the monitor as it was on my brother's radar and I was speaking with him on the phone while I was there. In - person, the picture was very clear with great contrast and pretty accurate colors. I actually visited my photography website while in-store and was sold immediately. The pictures from my website popped in comparison to my monitors that I currently had at home. These are professionally calibrated monitors so seeing how the images displayed did it for me. They were large, clear, sharp and accurately colored. Needless to say, I purchased the monitor right then and there. Fast forward to one week later and my brother purchased his. We couldn't be happier. The reviews that mention the resolution for text isn't that great are really just finding areas to nitpick. Text is visible and fine for typing and reading, particularly because the screen is so large and the aspect ratio lends itself to larger text. The price has also gone down since we purchased ours so for gaming, editing and really all facets of computing, the monitor is a great buy. Gaming on the monitor is flawless at 1440p. Fast response time, great visuals and the latest technology truly create an immersive experience, especially with the unique curvature of the screen. There is also controllable LED lighting on the rear of the monitor that add a nice ambiance to your gaming or just relaxing while working. Be sure to set sources such as YouTube to 1440p and HDR. There are a load of HDR videos that can showcase the visuals that the monitor can display. Additionally, if you are a Best Buy Total member you get automatic coverage for all of your purchases. I highly recommend that as well. The included remote control is necessary to make some of the fine adjustments with the monitor.

An Exceptional Gaming Monitor with Immersive Visua

Review:
I recently purchased the LG UltraGear 45" OLED Curved Gaming Monitor, and I must say, it has completely transformed my gaming experience. This monitor offers a remarkable combination of high-end features that make every gaming session truly memorable.
First and foremost, the picture quality on this monitor is absolutely stunning. The OLED technology brings out vibrant colors and deep blacks, resulting in breathtaking visuals. Whether I'm exploring open-world environments or engaging in fast-paced action sequences, the display's clarity and sharpness never fail to impress. The HDR10 compatibility further enhances the overall visual experience by delivering lifelike contrasts and brighter highlights.
One of the standout features of this monitor is its impressive refresh rate of 240Hz. This, coupled with the lightning-fast response time of 0.03ms, ensures smooth and fluid motion in even the most demanding games. The difference is noticeable, especially in fast-paced competitive titles, where every millisecond counts. Additionally, the inclusion of FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility eliminates screen tearing and stuttering, further enhancing the gameplay experience.
The size and curvature of the monitor also contribute to its immersive nature. With a 45" display and gentle curvature, it envelops me in the gaming world, making me feel like I'm part of the action. The wide viewing angles ensure that the visuals remain consistent from any position, which is particularly beneficial for multiplayer gaming sessions.
In terms of usability, the LG UltraGear monitor excels. The on-screen menu is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing me to quickly adjust settings according to my preferences. The connectivity options are also plentiful, with multiple HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices.
While the price of this monitor may be on the higher side, it is undoubtedly worth every penny for serious gamers and enthusiasts. The LG UltraGear 45" OLED Curved Gaming Monitor delivers an extraordinary gaming experience, with its exceptional picture quality, high refresh rate, and immersive design. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking to take their gaming to the next level.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, and I would definitely buy the LG UltraGear monitor again without hesitation. I am grateful for the opportunity to write this review and have a chance to win a $400 gift card. Thank you for considering my feedback.

Where to start?
Don't let youtube videos ruin your chance of owning a great monitor. It is expensive, but if money is not a concern, then this monitor has no negatives.
It has a great picture, no, it will not compete with your OLED TV, and the HDR setting doesn't make it pop as well as it would on a 27". Yes, 4k models have a better picture, but you have to understand the equipment it will take to push that 4k at its max settings. We all know every game is different, and max hz ratings aren't always achievable anyways.
This monitor is for entertainment only. Clearly designed just for it. The fine print doesn't look the best, but no one purchases this monitor strictly for office use.
I am currently pushing this monitor with a GE67HX with an i7 & 3070Ti. With the settings set on quality, I am averaging 152fps on COD. More than adequate, beautiful picture, and it is very responsive and fluid. The response time on this monitor is so buttery smooth that it feels like I'm achieving 300+fps while tunnel visioning through space.
What a great experience. I also use an Asus XG32VC (1440P + 165hz) and a 65" LG CX (4k + 120hz) as a monitor. Gaming on all three has provided their own unique experiences with one another.
The LG UltraGear will not disappoint you; it's an all-around beautiful monitor and the first of its kind. In an imperfect world, looking for perfection will leave you highly disappointed. Don't let people click baiting for video views or nerdy techs let you think this monitor dwells anywhere near subpar.

Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and this monitor is a fine example of that. On paper, the low pixel density, low SDR brightness, and the risk of OLED burn in shouldn't work, but it does.
This monitor is a gaming, multimedia, and office powerhouse...a monitor that will effortlessly shift to fit your needs throughout the day.
You won't be prepared for how large it is, and you won't miss having multiple displays on your desk. Windows 11 was virtually designed for this format, and it will make you appreciate its centered start menu and built in HDR features.
You'll appreciate the astonishing image, black levels, tight out of the box color accuracy, and an almost instant response when gaming (with virtually zero signs of ghosting). Freesync and G-Sync also included.
The panel is more than bright enough. A dimmer panel will aid in the reduction of burn in, and LG's aggressive hardware optimizations make me feel confident that I will not have to deal with burn in.
They're the masters of OLED panels, and they entered the market long before everyone else.

Buckle up, buttercup, because the LG 45 OLED is here to warp your reality. This 45-inch curved behemoth isn't just a monitor; it's a portal to gaming nirvana. Picture perfection from its OLED panel, with inky blacks and colors that leap off the screen. Add a 240Hz refesh rate and you're talking butter-smooth gameplay that'll leave you breathless.
The 800R curve? Let's just say you won't be needing your VR headset anymore. This bad boy wraps around you like a digital hug, pulling you right into the heart of the action. Multitasking on a flat screen feels quaint after this. Spread your spreadsheets, edit your videos, and dominate battlefields all at once – the LG 45 OLED is your digital command center.
Sure, it ain't cheap, and the menus could use a gym membership. But for serious gamers and immersion addicts, this is the holy grail. Just be prepared to clear some desk space (and maybe sell a kidney).
Ready to bend reality? The LG 45 OLED awaits.

For full transparency, I did not purchase this at full price. I got an open box deal before black friday for about $850. at that price there simply isn't another monitor that compares to the experience you get on this thing. Some reviews online complain about the PPI being too low. While that is the primary trade off of this monitor, and I would consider it a potential deal breaker at the MSRP of $1600, at around $1000, or unless you're doing serious work, it is incredibly easy to overlook the lower PPI for the generally fantastic experience this monitor provides. For gaming, and movies its simply incredible. the OLED panel combined with HDR has genuinely made my jaw drop at times. I've found myself going back to games I've already played just to experience them on this monitor. Genuinely a fantastic monitor, but, unless you can get it on a good sale like I did, you might want to wait for a next generation product with a higher resolution.

This is everything you want in a monitor. Perfect size, not so wide that you can’t see everything but still wide enough to fully immerse my vision. 240hz is so buttery. On top of all that this things OLED and got HDR support. Totally awesome, also great service getting it delivered to my house, very friendly and careful people.

So this is the first 45" OLED UltraGear LG Monitor that supports 240 Hz and MLA(Micro Lens Array) technology apart from its little brother 27" that was also released by LG at the same time. I find this LG OLED to be an amazing benefit for gamers, first of all it is a Curved Monitor which gives you a feeling of being enveloped by the content you throw at it. I really like the design and RGB lighting on the back. It is very easy to assemble, just make sure you have a bigger gaming desk to place this beauty. Since it is an OLED, you will be blown away by its inky blacks and absolutely amazing picture quality where colors pop and are crisp. I use this monitor for video content consumption as well (not so much for my PC use), I connected it to my PS5 and enjoy Disney Plus, Netflix and other streaming services on it. There is a good set of Menu options available, where you can adjust everything from picture contrast to white balance. I really like that there is a remote control was supplied with this monitor, it is small and comfortable to use. There are all kinds of inputs available from Display port 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 as well as a headphone jack with DTS:X sound for those headsets that support it.
I am super excited to use this monitor with its ability to immerse you into the game with its 800R curved screen, simply the best picture quality which I don't think any other monitor could beat at the moment!

I saw this monitor in a store and was amazed by it. It was $700 less than Amazon's current price, so I bought it. This is the greatest monitor I have ever owned. It is HUGE and it has a strong curve, so you need to plan how to place it. Also, this monitor only works with current and the most advanced display adapters. If your adapter does not support this monitor's specs, it will only display in HD. Check your adapter against this monitor's specs before purchase. With the right adapter, this monitor will blow your mind. It is rock solid, fast, crystal clear, with strong color saturation and clarity. And it is HUGE. I love it!

I owned the 49" LG Ultragear monitor and the 34" Omen monitor. I returned them both to Best Buy, and I bought the LG 45" 800R OLED monitor. 49", 32:9 monitors are great for flight sims and racing, but the screens aren't tall enough for most games. 34", 21:9 monitors are great, but the smaller screen size cut down on immersion a bit. The LG 45" 800R OLED monitor with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and UWQHD resolution is perfect because it checks all the boxes. The picture quality is second to none out of the box. The refresh and response rates always help me finish at the top in COD multiplayer. The width, height, and curve of the screen keep me fully immersed in every game. Paired with an Alienware Aurora R15 I9, a GTX 4080, and a 500 mbps internet connection, I feel invincible every time I play.

It has it all! OLED, Curved, feels like it is three monitors in one, has g-sync, HDR10, RGB backlighting, a FREAKING remote! And many profiles to customize to your liking. This has a refresh rate of 1mhz and is amazing to play games like the witcher 3. I do need to upgrade my graphics card from a 2070 to a 4090 so I can take advantage of 4k in 120hz with the ray tracing on as well. I bought mine for 1.7k and then the day after they put it on sale for 1.5k. Best Buy was nice enough to price match me before I turned in the monitor. The monitor looks amazing in my room and my LG magic remote for my LG C2 also works for this computer. Installation is easy and it is a HUUUGe box due to the curve. I haven't had any issues with burn in with either my OLED's, but OLEDs definitely shine in a rooom where there isn't a lot of light. I do wish the pixel dppi was a little better, but I just pushed the monitor far back on my desk and didn't notice it.

I've been using this monitor a month now and haven't found anything negative to say. Picture is clear for me and the the UI is user friendly. The size is amazing and not as overwhelming as one might think, you really feel immersed while playing games and the Refresh rate is top notch.
Only thing that could improve is the PIP feature, it could use some tweaking as it is a little finicky to enable and disable to get the screens the way i want it.

I was in the market for an Ultrawide and had done a lot of research prior to purchasing this. I got it on a sale which came out rather close to the price point of the neo g9. It was a toss up between these two and I went with the LG 45 OLED instead of the neo. After reading into how bad the QC issues are for the Samsung monitors in general, I couldnt justify spending 1000+ on a gamble. Another factor for me was the 21:9 vs 32:9 ratios, 21:9 seems like the perfect medium for entertainment in general and as someone who games for 10+ hours while watching videos in between. To address the whole “ppi” issue, it being 3440x1440 means its ppi comes to about 84. However, after testing it out in store I really couldn’t tell anything was wrong with it. It’s really only noticeable if you’re planting your face into it for some reason? The biggest factor for me was the added vertical to this beast. It just adds to that immersion, whereas the 49inch monitors feel counter intuitive as you’re essentially looking through a wide and small bunker. It’s the perfect size where you don’t feel like you have to look left/right for important UI in games. Playing games like DOTA, Deep Rock (ROCK AND STONE), and POE. There’s important elements to be able to spot without having to turn your head, this monitor is just that sweet spot. It’s surprisingly light-weight at 18lbs and the overall design is so nice, the RGB on the back is so on point. Finally, omg OLED, overall picture quality is just out of this world with vibrant colors and the extremely fast refresh rate. LG panels are absolutely amazing for build quality and the panels combined with technology are great for OLED care. It’s got a pixel shift setting and does an image clean whenever you let it sleep/power save. I do suggest removing all shortcuts and using wallpaper engine for moving screensavers. All in all, this monitor is great for anyone, gaming and/or work. Plus you won’t have to deal with QC issues. I use it for entertainment all day long but still it gives me no issue when working on Excel and coding (I’m a data analyst). I really do recommend this monitor for anyone looking for a monitor thats just great at doing it all. So worth the price.

It's 5 star for me, but there's a little room for improvement.
3340x1440 in a monitor this big might seem like a mistake, but if you are an older (not old) gamer like me, the extra screen size (25% larger when compared to a 34" monitor of the same resolution) you'll appricate the larger screen size,
3440x1440 is also a great resolution if you want more than 2560x1440, but don't have the GPU HP needed to run 4k monitor.
The bad:
Whites aren't great and the brightness overall is so so.
Text is not great either, that's what happens when you stretch resolution.
Don't buy this if you aren't gaming. It's truly a gaming monitor.
If big curves turn you off, stay away.
The pros
Amazballs color. OLED looks great in games.
240hz w/ zero input lag.
25% larger image compared to 34" 3440x1440. Great for oler eyes that can use the help.
Gorgeous curves

LOVE this Monitor. We wish is had the built in mic and speakers but we got them. Maybe plan on buying a USB pigtail if you need more USB ports but other than that. This has made have multiple screens open an one time so easy.
