I upgraded my setup of 2x 27’’ monitors, and I’m happy with my decision. It takes a bit to get used with the size of the screen, especiallly on MOBA games. Shooters seems to work better with the curvature since the focus is closer to the middle of the screen. Another thing to mention is due to the wide resolution, most if the youtube videos are not full screen, leaving black bars on the sides. This is perfect for wide screen movies, which are full screen on this monitor. OLED is awesome, colors are vivid and contrast is really good. No issues seen so far.

Out of the box the initial appearance of the monitor seemed a bit darker than I preferred, but after some adjustments (changing gaming mode to vivid and adjusting the black stabilizer to 65) it looks amazing! The colors are rich and the 800R curve makes for an immersive gaming experience. The remote is a nice feature and easy to use. LG also offers onscreen controls via download giving you the option to use either or. The only draw back would be the ppi which is around 84 pixels per sq in. Otherwise this is an amazing monitor for gaming and productivity. If you can get this monitor on sale dont hesitate, its worth it!

I've had this monitor for a little over six months now. I had reservations about something so big, but it's been amazing. I use it for work and then I switch the input and use it for gaming. For work, it's taken the place of two monitors and given me space back on my desk. For gaming, it's been a game changer with amazing refresh, vivid coloration, and it's sold me on a curved monitor. Definitely thrilled with my purchase and had absolutely no buyer's remorse for the past 6 months!

I was torn on what to rate this item, as it really depends on what you are using it for. As a gaming monitor its a great device, particularly when you use something that can really utilize the full screen such as sim racing. I use my computer as mixed use and this is where the drawbacks come in. This has a a pretty low PPI, so whenever you are doing something with text on the screen, particularly browsing the internet or looking at documents, the text just isnt very clear at all. Its not unusable, but just distracting sometimes, particularly over a long period of time. If you stick to gaming then this is a great monitor and i woukd recommend this without hesitation. If you are multi-tasking, then i would at least keep in mind the PPI and see if the store has one to put your eyes on.

    Phenomenal Monitor

Let me start by saying I've decide to choose this over the Alienware DW and DWF, both of which I purchased and tested against this. For starters, the screen size of 45" vs 34", i personally prefer the larger and with the curve, games really feel like they pull you in entirely. I also prefer the matte screen finish, but know it's not for everyone. It's not a super aggressive matte, but be warned, it does seem to cause very, very slight bloom, even though the panel is OLED. Colors on the DW/DWF seemed to "pop" more than on the LG, but at the same time, it almost caused colors to be over contrasted or washed out as a result, whereas the LG seems more "true to life". To address some of the complaints i see, brightness and PPI. Brightness appears to not be much different than the Alienware, at least on the panels i had. Against both HDR1000 and 400 True black, the LG seems to be just as bright in HDR and SDR content. I understand that it's not on paper, but if you have proper lighting, you're not going to be cranking any monitor at max brightness anyways, especially OLED. The other, PPI, is it noticeable? Short answer is yes, long answer is your mileage may vary. To me, apps like Office 365 have no clarity issues, same with the overall Windows UI. Other apps, such as one of my add-on managers for a game, look absolutely awful as a result of not scaling with windows. I wouldn't say its any better/worse than the QD OLED panels due to their odd pixel layout as well. ClearType and Better ClearType do help, but also, spending the price you are for this monitor or the DW/DWF, you should already know what to expect going in, rather than purchasing it and then being mad you didn't do your research on monitors in the $1400-$1800 range. In gaming, the text fringing is not a problem at all and games look amazing. Windows advanced HDR calibration shows the monitor only reaching about 600 nits, not the advertised 1000, but again, a properly lit room resolves this for most panels.

The absolute best monitor for gaming I have ever used. Large size, vibrant colors, fast refresh rate, exceptionally smooth motion and perfect contrast. I use it for productivity too with no burn-in and I've been using it for 1 year. Although the text is not as crisp as some 4K models it is still sharp and easy to read. Highly recommended.

Really good monitor. Great colors and amazing for video games. The only issue with the monitor for me was that at the size, the resolution was a bit too low. It is perfect for gaming but when looking at text or using it for work, the low ppi really shows itself. If you’re a gamer and you want a big and immersive monitor, this is for you. 240hz and OLED.

First off this thing is huge! This review is for the 45'' Ultra gear OLED curved gaming monitor WQHD with 240Hz Refresh Rate and 0.03ms Response Time. I feel like it wraps around me and puts me on the battlefield. The colors are very bright and radiant. And has an awesome response time of 240hz. This is by far the best gaming monitor I have ever owned/seen. And unlike others, I have been very happy when doing productivity stuff like word and excel. I run a small business and have a second pc just for work. So both my gaming pc and work pc are hooked up to this monitor. And I love how easy it is to switch between the inputs with the provided remote control for the monitor. As far as ports go, I do wish it had more than one display port. On the back you will find only one display port, two hdmi 2.1 ports, 3 usb ports with an headphone jack on the bottom side. And despite its size, the monitor stand is super sturdy. And very easily to adjust up and down or side to side. Please keep in mind you will need a graphics card that can supports displayport 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 to achieve the up to 240Hz refresh rate. All in all I am very happy, and this will be my new every day monitor replacing the dual set up I had.

Best gaming monitor on the market

The best gaming monitor currently on the market. There is only so much one can say on this thing as its just an amazing experience to use especially on PC. It works great with 1440p VRR on the PS5 and Series X and while gaming on those the games will have letter boxes on each side its still about the size of a 32" OLED display although in 1440p. Cons Price, its obviously expensive but early adopters fee I suppose, hopefully it comes down some. Also text can be fuzzy at this size with this resolution

    The ultimate gaming monitor

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Coming from a 32" 4K monitor with Mini LED backlighting I did not think I would be as impressed with this monitor as I am. Despite the massive 45" size 1440p still makes a decent resolution for this monitor (of course it's best appreciated from about 1.5-2 feet back). Despite the rated max 200 cd/m2 brightness in real life it appears much brighter than that as the OLED pixels are extremely vivid and have nearly perfect angled viewability. And under HDR conditions zoned pixels can get much brighter. In terms of burn in or image retention the monitor does an excellent job securing preventing these issues from happening with a number of built in failsafes. The smoothness & motion clarity on this monitor is second to none with 240Hz and an unbelievable 0.03ms color response. Lastly, the material and build quality are immaculate as, despite using a lot of metals and being so large, actually feels pillowy-light at a total of 20lbs for the assembled unit. If you have the cash and are looking for a jaw dropping gaming PC expeirence then this should definitely be on your wishlist.

The experience of owning this monitor came with more than I would have expected. First off the fact that it is OLED was a game changer for consuming HDR content and playing games like Dead Space remake and God of War. Colors are so vibrant. It basically envelopes your entire peripheral vision making content more immersive. The problems I had with it were not being able to update firmware on 2 separate monitors and full screen brightness was dimmer than my odyssey g7 32 1440p monitor. I thought that hdr 1000 was at least like 500-700 nits of brightness kind of like how some monitors are advertised as hdr but only certified for hdr 300. There needs to be more transparency in the industry but that is a whole other conversation. I’ve learned that sustained brightness has to do with how much the panel can be cooled to keep oled pixels from getting too hot and accelerating burn in. Text looks weird against a white background almost looking blurred. I think that firmware updates would address the issue but I was never able to update. It would proceed for a while but then error out at like 60% and prompt me to disconnect power and try again. The final deal breaker was when I launched into a game, the monitor would switch into different modes(hdr or game mode even though I turned them on in osd) causing weird anomalies like when alt tabbing it would have to switch back into the main mode I set it into the osd. It felt jankey and even having the game in borderless it would still happen. If there are problems similar to this please reply as I would like to know if other monitors are like this or if I just haven’t set it up properly. Is it windows 10 hdr bugging out ( Modern warfare 2019 looked better in sdr and brighter than hdr even with the hdr tuning in settings). As a side you will need a monitor arm that can support its weight. I got the WALI Single Monitor Gas Spring Desk Mount, Heavy Duty Monitor Arm for Ultrawide Screen up to 35 inch, 33 lbs. Fully Adjustable, VESA 75 and 100 (GSM001XL) and it worked perfectly. I hope that my issues are just me not understanding how hdr works and not being set up properly for optimal experience as I would like to get another better specked monitor in the future.

Absolute beast of a monitor, this was my first time using ultrawide so I was nervous about the black bars that would show, but since this is an OLED, idk why but your mind just forgets it’s there and comes naturally. Of course since it is an OLED, the colors look absolutely AMAZING, i played baldurs gate 3 from an ips to this and can I say that it was absolutely stunning, if you’re thinking about getting an ultrawide, definitely keep this as an option!!

If you are in market for an OLED gaming screen, look no further. I tried the Samsung G9 but it doesn't even come close to this. 800R curve just makes all the difference. 4K would have been a perfect 10 especially for productivity but again the target audience is gamers, as a gamer you would be thoroughly impressed. Its no easy job to run this display. You would need at least an RTX 4070/ 4070 Ti Super to game at the 120Hz+.

This thing is a Monster. I've been waiting for an "all encompassing" gaming monitor. What is it? 21:9 ratio Ultra Wide 3440 x 1440 Resolution (1440p is the sweet spot for gaming) Don't let any website fool you about "gaming in 4k" < it's completely useless as you'll need a $1,000+ graphics card to even push frames in an enjoyable manner. OLED < Incredible depth of color (Not ideal for accurate Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop professional editing). You'd be better off with a 4K IPS monitor instead of you also dabble in the creative spaces. 240Hz Refresh Rate > This means as long as you have a graphics card to push up to that limit (resolution depending sometimes) you'll have a great ceiling where this monitor will render your high-FPS (frames per second) games. G-Sync compatible > Same as above, ensures that your frames lock in sync w/ your Graphics cards' output which eliminates tearing. Just ensure you have V-Sync or dynamic sync enabled in your favorite games. Games testing w/ this Monitor: WoW > natively supports 21:9 ultrawide and OMG are dungeons and raids amazing w/ this monitor. Note.. if you screen cap your gameplay w/ the likes of NVidia shadowplay you will have black bars above and below when viewing on non 21:9 monitors. The recent Forza (Fort-ZA) Motorsport. In menu you'll have black bars, and up until the race starts. But when the race engages, it'll strangely flip to your 21:9 full screen ratio. It.... Looks.... amazing in this game! Battlefield 2042 and other FPS games. The extra width from 21:9 gives you a big advantage when scoping in as you'll have more periphery at your disposal. Other features: Power saving modes are great and ensure your OLED doesn't have burn-in. If your budget allows for it, this or the Samsung are great options as this level of merged Tech has not been at this pricepoint before. The curve is also perfect as it captures your entire periphery. I don't use the stand since I Vesa mounted it (May require support if your arm-mount is weak. The stand does take up a lot of desk Space if you don't Vesa mount it.

This monitor is nothing short of AMAZING. Returned the Alienware in exchange for this. The text fringing on QD was unbearable. This LG adds a white sub-pixel which greatly improves this. It's not perfect but WAY better. If your not a PPI snob this is the perfect balance of OLED, Readable Text, Size and refresh rate. I'm blown away.

I've purchased a few of the LG UltraGear monitors and this one is, by far, my favorite. I purchased an open box display unit but the screen was in flawless condition. They took another $150 off the already heavily discounted open box price. I asked the associates at Best Buy if I could clean the screen and inspect it, they brought out a monitor cleaning kit and were very patient while I gave it a good look over. My previous monitor was an LG UltraGear 32' 1440p IPS G-sync panel and I thought it would be my last monitor for a while because it was absolutely fantastic, that was until I saw the 27" OLED on sale. I purchased that one online originally and decided to look around the store while they got it ready for pickup. I came across this one on display and with the open box price and with the extra discount it came out to only be $150 more than the 27" panel. I couldn't turn that deal down! They got me! But I don't regret it at all. The picture on this thing is absolutely insane. Currently running it with an RTX 4070 and it does a fantastic job, especially on Doom Eternal and Diablo IV. Doom Eternal on Ultra with Ray tracing on I was getting 130-170 fps, with Ray tracing off I was able to run it at 220-240 fps and it was jaw dropping! The movement is so fast and fluid, the game looks gorgeous, OLED coupled with HDR is just nuts. I didn't really believe the hype until I saw it for myself. The only downside was my unit didn't come with a remote so I can't currently access all the settings on the monitor, waiting to hear back from LG about buying one for it. I would still buy it again without the remote.
