Huge improvement in sound quality and connectivity

I honestly love these. I have them paired with the S80QY. I didn't like the S80QY though. These actually make the sound bar more immersive. Pros: They are louder and more enhanced compared to the SPK8-S. The sound is more bright and crisp. I have each one placed about 6 feet away from my couch (off to the side) and set at +4 and they are perfect. During the day I like to set these at +6 just to have more volume lol Movies sound more 3 dimensional. The 3.1.3 soundbar doesn't have that wide sound stage unless you pair these. Connectivity is a huge improvement from the previous version. 60% more coverage definitely adds more flexibility placing them in my living room. There hasn't been any cut outs or drops. Cons: The build isn't so great. I don't know why LG went backwards on these with the cloth material covering the speakers. The top and bottom covers are plastic and feels cheap. The SPK8-S had a metal feel to them with the grill as well. Speaker Wire - I don't know why LG still uses speaker wire to connect to a wireless modem. The new enhancement coverage doesn't effect the sound but I feel like LG needs to update to the individual wireless speakers like Sony, Samsung and Sonos. This would definitely make it more convenient to place anywhere behind your seating position without running speaker wire everywhere. I really wish LG paired these with the previous soundbar models. That would've been amazing. These rear speakers paired with my SL10YG... that would be insane! I also would suggest LG to make a Rear Speaker Kit that has the up firing channels (2.0.2). That would be amazing too. For now these sound really great!

Cheap speakers and unit but worth buying

Was undecided at first because you have to wire the speakers to the reciever box. Bought the insigna speaker stands and the rocketfish flat cable, worked out great, really completes my 5.1.3 sound bar. One tip, replace the cheap speaker wire that comes with the speakers out of the box cause at first I thought the unit didnt work but once I used better wire it worked. The base unit is cheap, the speaker connections are not very good. I tinned both ends of the speaker wire. The speakers themselves are El cheapo too, BUT for the price 100 I was very happy adding to my sound bar. It really completes the sound in the room. Why LG doesnt sell actual blutooth rear speakers like the sub I don't know. Was it worth all the trouble and money....Yes Love the sound now.

Easy to use, easy to setup. Good connection, no issues with soundbar losing the device. The wifi/reciever box is simple, with only R/L out for the two included 3ohm (oddly low impedence) loudspeakers. It would hugely benefit from RCA out. The DSP in the reciever is ok, I think they do a good job of acting as rear speakers in 5.1 and dolby content, though dolby seems to isolate the rear channel much better. The cons! The amplifier creates a lot of hum coming through the speakers at low volume, which ruins the audio quality at low volume and is also irritating. There is no option to turn off the speakers in the app. In some content, the speakers are just too quite, and then in stereo they are too loud. This could be fixed by allowing a greater control in the app, but overall the system is just cheap. Cheap in quality, cheap in price. Over all, it adds a much needed component to the lg sound bars that can use it. It is just handicapped by a poor quality amp, which could be rectified with RCA out. If I could go back and do it again, I would look other places then LG for a sound system. That being said, I still enjoy having them.

First of all, I have to say I am extremely disappointed in LG's customer service because I contacted them prior to purchasing this item and verified with them my sound bar that I have currently the model number and everything and told them I wanted to purchase this and ask if it would be compatible. I asked because I've been looking for an expansion for a while and I know LG has two available on the market. One of them possibly compatible with my current bar and one of them not at all. This particular expansion I knew would not be compatible and I even told the people at LG on contacting you because I know this is not compatible but- for some reason that day I decided to pick this up- everywhere I looked seem to say the same thing that this would work. Long story short, it was not compatible with my soundbar the SQ65 and honestly I would not recommend this pack anyway even if it was compatible because it's very deceptive in its advertising and I just don't have a setup space that would allow for this corded unit. That is correct. You heard me say it directly CORDED UNIT!!!. THIS ADVERTISES IT SO AS A WIRELESS BLUETOOTH EXPANSION SPEAKER SET... But it's not. When you open the box you see that you get the receiver, the two speaker's and two very long bundles of wire. Set up is pretty simple but consists of wiring from one speaker in a positive and negative fashion- like with any stereo system from ages ago- and run that wire to the receiver where the receiver will then be connected via Bluetooth to your sound bar for the surround sound experience. I was extremely upset in seeing this because the way my living room is set up and in the way it's designed. I don't have a way to decorate so that the back of my furniture could be up against a wall. My TV is up against the wall and the furniture is facing it with the backs open to the rest of the room. This means that in order to utilize this system I have one speaker on each side of us and I have a long cord running on either side to this middle box which is not safe at all and I tripped over twice and just trying to install it. I was almost happy that it didn't work to be honest, but I would say to LG get with the times and create a truly wireless surround sound experience because you have the technology for it and I know you can do it. I would also say to LG stop with the false advertising as this is advertised. It clearly states wireless and it is in no way anywhere, even on their brand website lists the fact that there is a wire involved. The only place you're going to find that information is in the consumer comments below. If you have the proper setup where these wires won't get tripped over or be out of the way, maybe go for it if you can find it on the clearance side of things but I wouldn't bother at full price.

A Must for Surround Sound on the S90QY

The only rear speaker add on for the S90QY and a must if you want true surround sound. Note that this is only a single channel rear surround without upfiring Atmos speakers. The sound from the rear is a little low compared to the front channels so you have to bump it up in the LG Soundbar app. Easy to install and the provided wires are generous and should cover most space setups behind a couch. Speaker wires need to run into the provided hub and one cord for power. The unit connects wirelessly to the S90QY or the S80Qy soundbar. Minimal wiring in the rears LR speakers, but wireless transmission from front to rear. The S95QR is the exact same soundbar and subwoofer as the S90QY, but with 2 rear surround channels and 1 upfiring Atmos channel per rear speaker for a few hundred more. Choose what works for your budget.

Bought these to compliment our LG S80 sound bar, they definitely add the surround sound effect. I only gave them 4 stars, these arent as big as they look in the pictures, they are actually pretty small. I like the wireless connection to the soundbar that worked great

Unfair review, as I could not use them. Bought for use with LG SP9YA, which Best Buy and LG said would work, they do not. Manual doe these speakers stated otherwise and would not connect. So be advised they DO NOT work with SP9YA despite what Best Buy says.

It worked well for a while, but then one of the speakers went dead. Good if you find a great price. Convenient that do not wires to connect to the soundbar/SUBWOOFER. But they need a wire to connect to each other.

Excellent companion to the LG soundbars. At $200, I was hesitant but I found them open box for $55 and at that price, no brainer. Easy to set up and wall-mount, and add a nice amount of extra immersion to whatever you decide to watch, or even play.

I bought the entire LG theater system but did not buy these speakers at first. I purchased these a few months later. I am amazed at the difference these speakers make while watching a movie. It sounds like the characters are in the room with you. My suggestion is to also purchase the stands as well. They are only $30 - $50. I highly recommend these speakers if you want the movie theater experience in your home.

Added these speakers to my LG S90QY and they make a world of difference. Without these speakers you could 100% tell that all the sound was coming from the sound bar. Atmos object placement suffered because of the poor side speaker performance. I added these to the mix set a 120 degree angle from the main listening position. I set them at that angle to help the sound bar reproduce sound at my sides. Now when I'm playing a video game in either 7.1 PCM or Dolby Atmos there's a marked improvement not only to the rear sounds but the side sounds as well. Downside is they aren't completely wireless and have to be connected to a receiver by speaker wire. Also I wouldn't pay the MSRP of $199. Luckily these are frequently on sale for $99.

    Required Add-on, but Needs Improvement

Definitely feel this is a required supplement/add-on if you are going to bother getting the LG S90QY at all. Why they are just not completely wireless nowadays is beyond me, cause it is just extra clutter to have to then wire these to the wireless main rear power box. In my opinion these look and feel rather small and cheap (no up-firing speaker either). I’d rather LG offered a completely wireless and higher quality set of rears (for higher quality surround sound) and sold them for a higher price. I’d recommend them only because there isn’t any other choice (if you want some better surround sound), unless you go top of the line LG soundbar that includes the rears.

These speakers are wired to the power box included, the power box can be plugged in away from the TV and main speaker bar and wirelessly connects. Works well with made the LG SC9S on a 77" C3 OLED TV. Makes the system full surround sound

Adds good surround when the source applies it. Otherwise you don’t hear a lot from them. It would be nice if the satellite speakers were wireless but the wireless does a good job.

Easy to setup and easy to connect (change soundbar settings to surround because they will not work unless the surround sound is selected ln soundbar). Our speakers are twice as close to the back of the couch as we are to the soundbar so once we reduced the volume for the new rear speakers the balance and sound was perfect. The cost and ease of use make these a great addition to any LG S80QY or LG S90QY. Make sure you confirm your soundbar model for compatibility.

I can't imagine the LG SP90QY without them. They fill out the sound for the rest of the room nicely. Now don't think of the setup as good as an old school 200 watt per channel at 8 ohm stereo system or you will be very disappointed. This setup is great for watching movies and playing video games. I switch to my old stereo for playing music. These are just plug and play. I didn't have any issues connecting at all.
