The built-in outdoor app that tracks his activities is also great. Battery life lasts more than a day. Coming from a basic Samsung smartphone, this is definitely an improvement.

Killer Budget Rugged Smartphone

The biggest complaint I've heard is that some people are concerns with it being slightly slower than some flagship phones but as someone who is a techie and uses my phone all the time, I've had very little issue. I previously had a s6 and it is very comparable in speed. I actually like this phone better and it's about 1/4 of the price of a s8. I really like the overall touch screen, it's very responsive. No issues with performance, it feels very quick, and is running 7.0. Battery life is killer, Easily you can get two days out of it, and much longer if you want to really stretch it. It's actually great having the physical buttons, and makes life much easier in tough conditions. The camera seems fine, low light is a little tougher but that's an issue with any camera phone with the size of the lens. The buttons are a little easy to push and the camera lens does appear to be vulnerable so I would recommend an case. Cases are limited but they are really optional for this phone. It's a touch phone to start with with a case I think it's borderline overkill but I've busted the camera lens before and as you'd guess as someone looking for a rugged phone, I'm a bit hard on phones. I've been known to drop them in water and down rocks I'm climbing on the sides of mountains. The SD card slot is another bonus. Some may not like it using a micro-USB but seeing as all of my accessories are already that I'm glad to not need to buy a bunch of new cords. The active mode, glove mode, and short cuts work great.
