Decent HI-FI Speaker System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box: The Speaker system, a remote(with batteries), power cable fm antenna and the usual paperwork. Specifications: Multi-point Bluetooth pairing, FM Radio, Karaoke Creator with Voice Filters, Dual 6.5-inch woofer, USB connection, LED display, Dance Lighting and weighs around 31lbs. Inputs/outputs: Audio line out, Aux in, Optical, Mic Jack. The Rk7 Xboom is a pretty rugged designed speaker system that has appropriate padding on all sides so that it may be used in a standing position or placed on its side (vertical/horizontal placement) which it detects.. It’s a bit heavier than expected but then again you don’t to move this around alot. On the right side of the speaker you will find the LED screen and a few buttons such as power on, play/pause, fast forward/rewind, volume up/down. All of these and more are also found on the supplied remote that came in the box. Towards the back of the speaker you will find the various inputs and output connections and the AC in port Specifically the USB port can be used for direct music playback from flashdrives as well it can charge your device. Listening to music through the system is above average. Sound is crisp and smooth and nothing seems to be loss over Bluetooth transmission from your device. This stands as a testament to the aptx HD feature built into the speaker. All music pushed through this system just comes out sounding great, not to mention it can get very loud without the bass falling off at all, kudos to LG for that. I tested the FM radio feature and it seems to be pretty regular and I was able to pick up most stations I usually do within the area. If you’re looking for good sounding speaker system with digital FM tuner, bluetooth, a built karaoke creator feature with strong sound out power , you can’t go wrong here. \

LG continues to NERF the USB shuffle function.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll get to the review title right off the bat. For some strange reason, LG continues to NERF the USB shuffle function. There is only one option, shuffle, which will shuffle songs from all folders located on the USB stick. Why they don't have both shuffle all and shuffle folder option is beyond me. Most devices or players have both shuffle options. So say you want to listen to a genre of music you have on a folder within your USB stick, but you also have other folders with different music, you cannot shuffle just one folder. It will shuffle songs from all folders. Dumb, just dumb, LG. LG has been doing this for a while now. I have the FH6 and RK8 and both of those also lack folder shuffle option. As far as the RK7 compares to the older model FH6, the RK7 is a step back in many aspects. For one, the display is on one end of the unit. So no matter how you have the speaker oriented (horizontally or vertically), you cannot see the display when you are positioned in front of the speakers. Again, dumb, just dumb. The FH6 has the display running along the front edge, so no matter if the unit is horizontal or vertical, you can see the display. The FH6 also has the DJ controls and wheel on the unit, while the RK7 has the DJ wheel and effects buttons completely stripped from the unit. They are only available via the LG Music Flow app and that is for Android users only. So if you have an Apple phone/tablet you are outta luck. The older FH6 also had the ability to download and create your own sound effects and that option has also been stripped from the RK7. Here are some other features and options removed or changed on the RK7. Only one mic jack compared to two on the FH6. Strobe light in the middle of the unit not on the RK7. RK7 only has flashing lights over the two woofers. Voice canceller, key changer and USB record buttons that are on the FH6 are gone from the RK7. I also could not wirelessly link the RK7 to either the FH6 or the RK8 boom box. However, I could wirelessly link the RK8 boombox to the FH6. One aspect where the RK7 is better than the FH6 is connectivity. The RK7 has RCA analog in and out, where as the FH6 only has analog in. The RK7 also has optical in to connect to a TV and that is not available on the FH6 Now this might sound like a really negative review of the RK7, but if I didn't have the FH6 I wouldn't know what all has been changed or removed. The RK7 does have a good sound quality with strong bass. The bass capability might even be just slightly stronger than the FH6, which has larger speakers. The FH6 is rated at 600 watts compared to the RK7 550 watts. These watts are seriously inflated, but they are similar in power. FH6 may have slightly better clarity, but both have a user EQ that can be tweaked. I did notice that using the User EQ when you turn the RK7 off, then later turn it on, the sound is very thin with not much bass. If you go into the Music Flow app or to the EQ options on the unit and change to a pre-set EQ, then back to the User EQ, the sound becomes fuller with more bass again. Not sure if this is a glitch inherent to all RK7 units or not, but it's kind of annoying. If you have read this far you are probably surprised I gave the RK7 a 4/5. Again, standing on it's own, not being compared to the FH6, it's a good party speaker. It is basically designed to look like the smaller, portable PK7 and PK5. At the time of this review the RK7 is priced at a penny under $200 and that's the right price for this unit. I would never pay the $350 retail, but at the sale price it's a solid speaker. I would still recommend the FH6 over the RK7, but the FH6 is pretty hard to find now since it's a couple years older model wise.

Garbage LG
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst purchase I’ve ever made. It was an open box deal and didn’t even come with a power cord. The first time I used it the highs and mids kept going out. I paid $210 open box and was $399 new. Price dropped to $198 new a week after buying it. This an obviously defective lg speaker line. I do not recommend

I like this so much
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be honest I didn't have high hopes for the speaker. but after playing with a few features and cranking up the volume. I am considering getting a second one for the multiple feature. 1. The bass is pretty good, but do remember this is a 6.5 subwoofer not a 12. 2. The options are much more than i realized. USB 64gb thumb drive works plugged right into the unit. 3. Party mode works well and love the way you can change the lights around depending on the mood. 4. This is pretty heavy so it actually doesn't rattle the floor. Will not tip over either. Can also be placed on its side for use. Changes the sound mode when this happens

Patio and Pool Vibe Setter
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We're an LG family and recently updated our patio with a pool. The speaker easily syncs with BT and XBoom app. Great sound, great value. I can't sing but am looking to add a mic and stand to test the karaoke features. The lights and pairing with other XBoom speakers lets us set a whole vibe around the yard.

Excellent sounding speakers and functions!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find myself trying to use these speakers to listen to everything! I'm using them daily, and enjoy all the versatile options. The lights are mesmerizing, and will sync to the beat of the music. It gets very loud and sound amazing. Impress your friends and family at the next get together with these awesome speakers. They will be asking you all about them! Aux/ optical function: I bought two of these to use as speakers in my karaoke system because of the aux inputs. Worked so easily, and can be hooked up to have stereo sound with left and right speaker. It's hooked up to an amplifier that connects to my TV, so I also use it to watch movies as well! If you don't have an amplifier/reciever you could use the optical input if your TV has the output. I think that would only work with one speaker though. You wouldn't be able to sync two speakers, since it'll only do that in bluetooth mode. Bluetooth function: My phone immediately connects to the speaker when turned on. In this function I can pair the two speakers with the dual/multi mode. Multi mode allows me to choose which one is left and right. Whereas, dual mode, have the exact sound blasting out of both speakers. I like both depending on the mood I'm in and what I want the lights to do. The lights will be identical in dual mode, but will vary in stereo sound because it'll sync to the different beats coming out of the speakers. Lights: This feature gets you in the party vibe! Visually impressive when you enjoy listening to music or singing karaoke. If you have two and use the aux option, you can have many different colors at the same time if you turn them on individually with a slight delay. Remote control/ mobile app/ manual buttons: I find myself using the buttons on the speaker more, since it's much faster and I could do them both at once (they're 5ft apart). The app only works in bluetooth mode, and was confusing to me. I'd rather use the remote controller over the app, but ultimately like the buttons best. These speakers work great for what I need them for. I think you'll like them too!

Terrific portable speakers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Above average sound for a portable speaker. Equalizer has presets, and you can also manually adjust the sound to your preference. Goes very loud, with a lot of punch! Sounds terrific with current and quality recordings of jazz, rock, pop, etc. Many karaoke and DJ features, great for parties! Does not have a battery, but I use it indoors only with A/C.

Awesome speaker system for any occasion
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.with movie theaters (along with everything else)being closed we have been watching movies outside we ith a projector and an inflatable movie screen. For the sound we were running the DVD player through our home surround sound system, which ment hooking up all the speakers outside then unhook everything and bring back in. We started looking around for a stand alone system and decided this was it. This system is awesome. You get all the highs, mids and plenty of bass with none of the bass slaps and pops you some times get when playing movie audio. Bluetooth works great. We have noticed that some phones Bluetooth connection start to break up about 20' or so from speaker. Don't know if this is from certain phones or speaker though. We haven't used the karaoke set up on this unit so I can't comment on that but overall if its movies or music this unit is plenty loud and has excellent sound. Thinking of purchasing another one for the party chain capabilities during family cookouts. Go buy it,its definitely worth it

Great speaker!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker is amazing! I purchased two for my wedding reception, rehearsal and to provide the music for the actual ceremony. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it exceeded all of the needs. The only problem I had was that I wish I would have purchased 3. The speakers were very easy to connect to our phones or whatever bluetooth device you want to use, and easy to sync to the other speaker. They were easy to transport as well. They provided great sound outdoors and even better indoors. The lighting effects are sub par but that is my only legitimate complaint. My wife and I are very pleased and now have them at the house to use for parties and family gatherings.

A very versatile bluetooth speaker!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second LG bluetooth speaker that I have bought. I bought the little brother of this speaker (the LG 5) and returned it to buy this one. What I like about this speaker besides its bluetooth capability is that it has an optical cord that hooks up to a tv that allows you to play the tv sound through the speaker like the speaker is a soundbar. It has an aux hookup to plug in mp3 players or tablets, you can plug in a mic, it has a light display and an equalizer with a bass boost. It is also built to be portable. A very versatile speaker with excellent stereo sound and more than decent power..

Awesome purchase
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome speaker at a great price. I actually pair 4 together for parties and 2 together in stereo when it's more laid back. Light @ 22lbs so very portable. The sound is pure and crisp in curtain modes depending on preference. Easy system for karaoke and microphone hookups.

Great speaker for a garage or workshop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use in a garage. I bought the LG because it sounded clearer & had better dispersion of the highs that all the other speakers I tested in BestBuy. It was also much cheaper than the Sony & JBL. I have it 4 stars because I wish the bass was deeper, but this is typical of these portable speakers regardless of brand. Nice that you don’t need an app to use it. No problems with blue toothing from the phone.

Good sound plug in power only
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: The sound of this speaker at volume is pretty good, maybe not studio quality but certainly good enough for a pool party. Easy enough to setup/connect to bluetooth and nice enough compliment of other source inputs. Cons: Is plug-in only, wish that it had a battery. The app is weak and forces use of bluetooth input, wish that it could use any input and control lights and volume and switch sources with the app.

Awesome Speaker captured On Sale
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an extremely versatile speaker; especially when paired with an LG TV. I have to say, I was able to get this on sale, which was a huge selling point as well. Today, I use it to stream music of my phone, we play recorded music of a USB sometimes, we listen to the built in FM Radio, and we ALSO use it as our TVs external speaker. This is where the unit really shines for me. I had just purchased an LG 70UN7370PUC, and had mounted it over our fireplace. There was no room for a sound bar, but streaming from this new TV enabled an awesome alternative to one. The dynamics are great for our living room, and the speaker is discretely placed as well. I've had the 5.1 systems, and this rivals them in a much simpler way to achieve home theater in the living room. And we haven't even tapped into the Karaoke functions on this thing. All-in-all, a great choice for a party speaker with tons of utility!

Nice Bass
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice size speaker, surprising big bass in a compact size, nice build quality. Great for outdoor functions, equipped with lights, party mode and karaoke features. Bluetooth works well and if you have more than one Bluetooth speaker in the boom series you can link as much as 10 speakers.
