Licorice Pizza is Paul Thomas Anderson's 9th film and his lightest, but occasionally frustrating. What might frustrate some is the narrative and pacing, there is an intentional aimlessness to the film, meant to represent how our leads are moving through life. And while I very much do appreciate that, occasionally I did wish it was a tad more connected. But the basic story at hand is simple, yet complicated? It's about a 20 something girl who is in platonic yet odd relationship with a 15 year old boy. Immediately it will be considered a red flag by some, but the concepts of arrested development and of how society corrupts one's perception of love during youth into something that can be commodifed are interesting to explore through these characters. And I think the age gap was necessary to showcase this as much as possible, even if it makes some uncomfortable. Aside from that, the bluray looks and sounds great, bug as usual with PTA films, the extras are lacking, would have been nice to have another commentary type track. But the biggest tragedy is that this never had a 4k release despite having a 4k scan, perhaps after this review we'll get one, but currently nothing.

Paul Thomas Anderson is undoubtedly a master of his generation in his craft. Licorice Pizza is an extension of his talent. The film is an ode to Los Angeles of the early 1970s (in a similar way to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood being one to late 1960s). It is definitely a "time and place" work that is dazzling with charm, humor, and brilliant direction.

I found out about this movie because I'm a big fan of the all-girl rock band HAIM. This movie starts Alana Haim, and her sisters, Este & Danielle, both have cameos. The story is a very coming-of-age romantic comedy set in the San Fernando Valley in 1973. It's a must see! Excellent cast and storyline.

Better special features than I thought there would be especially considering these lower budget blu rays tend to deliver the bare minimum. So far as movies go, it's a mood film so "how good it is" constantly evolves like a living breathing thing depending on your headspace. Great PTA film.

Loved the movie, hated the fact that the digital copy is ONLY good on Apple TV and you have to provide Apple with a credit card to open an account. Fat chance that's gonna happen. Get with the program Universal......use a digital platform shared by Movies Anywhere.

i am confused because people want something new this movie comes out and complain about it that it is different and to me that is perfect! a new set of cast members that dont rely on heavy hitter actors that try to play teenagers.

I love this movie. PTA has done it again. Awesome soundtrack and great performances by the two leads, who are both virtual unknowns. I couldn't wait until this movie was finally released on Blu-ray.

Any fan of Paul Thomas Anderson needs to watch Licorice Pizza asap. It's not his best film but still is a very good watch. Bradley Cooper is hilarious in his role. It also comes with a poster.

The best movie of 2021. I love the work of Paul Thomas Anderson, and he delivers here once again with an incredible flick that is funny, moving, and heartfelt. I give it a top recommendation.

This is a good little movie with twists and turns all along the way. What a wonderful little romance and great time machine back to early 70s.

another PTA winner, Cooper Hoffman is a fantastic consolation prize in place of his lost father. Hope to see more of him in coming years.

It a award season film that is worth giving a watch especially it very funny and romantic but pretty relatable as well

This movie was a blind buy for me as I had friends tell me it was a great film. They were right I really enjoyed the film.

PTA is simultaneously one of the best around and wildly underrated. He reminds you why he's so good with this one.

Great movie good price. No 4K release so this is the only way to grab it as of now
