was my first time watching a blu ray movie. just got a blu ray player. I wanted to know if there was a big difference in video/audio quality vs streaming. The difference in video was small, but noticeable. But the difference in audio quality was HUGE. The sound was so robust and each sound had so much clarity. The bass wasn't too heavy, but it was good for this movie. I actually prefer softer sounds anyway.

While the idea in the film is not completely original - a very 'alien' creature if you catch my drift. Going into the film blind would almost be better in not knowing that it is 'horror' as well. While not great, its certainly above average and worth a watch and a good edition to for any horror fan's movie library. The acting is also plenty good.

An OK, Decent Movie that Looks Good in 4K

Saw it at the theater and enjoyed it but wouldn't say that it's a favorite. I picked up the 4K copy while it was on sale for $14.99. I'd say it's worthy to keep in my collection. The special effects look good on the UHD 4K disc. There's some decent surround sound in the movie. Don't recall anything in my upper speakers with Atmos that stood out.

This was way more entertaining than I thought it would be. Instead of it being a mere star-studded "Alien" rip-off, it's a highly entertaining "Alien" rip-off that's far better than the latest "Alien" entry. At least, this makes sense. Plus, everyone brings their A-game to the table. Look out for the ending, too. It'll stick with you.

It might not be truly original in its set-up (we've seen aliens in space before - this film is a bit like "Alien" meets "Gravity"), but "Life" manages to pull it off; thrilling and engaging from start to finish. With a beautiful and haunting production (and especially creature) design and some unexpected twists and turns to keep the audience glued to the screen. My only regret is that the UHD version of this film was not available in store; only on-line. That would have made the illusion complete!

I personally really enjoyed "Life" as a sci-fi film; it is heavily inspired by Alien and that is brutally obvious, but it is very enjoyable and fun. Love the 4K version; it only heightens the gritty and bland (but great) aesthetic appearance of the film.

Life shows you everything that Hollywood would do, but not what would happen in reality if NASA actually caught life from Mars. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, mostly due to stupid and incompetent decisions made by the crew. Dumb and dumber on steroids, but exciting. Special effects of alien are literally out of this world.

We had heard about this movie when it first came out and had a minimal amount of interest in seeing it. But we figured the special-effects should be good so at least that will be worth our time. We were surprised that we really enjoyed the movie and the plot twist. It's a nice reinvention of an alien vs human movie

The ending to this is a heck of a twist . I just hated that common cliche used for a sci fi horror movie... Mankind going way above its understanding of an alien creature and yes the black guy dies first. Of course the alien species is much more faster and more intelligent

This starts out slowly with very little action. By the end you have finished your popcorn and are feeling a bit tense. I liked it. Everything about 4K Ultra movies is better. Picture clarity, computer graphics and audio sound just stand out like nothing else does.

I already know some people are going to compare this to another horror movie (Alien). Yes it is similar but Life does stand on its own. Now include Jake Gyllenhaal, who gives a great performance, this guy can act. Along side with a surprisingly solid Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Furgeson. Sounds like a great time to me. Although it does has its flaws, it still entertaining enough to make you forgot them.

I liked the movie, but didn't quite buy the ending given the scenes I saw up to that point. While all of the zero gravity work was done with wires, it looked very real. You really thought they were all aboard the ISS! Good concept for the movie to place it on the ISS.

I saw this in the movie theater and enjoyed it. I was surprised a few times, as the director intended. I am not an astronaut, so I cannot speak on the nuisances of certain aspects not being feasible in space or astronauts not being able to move a certain way, or (something in plot) not being feasible because the (something in the plot). I went to see a sci-fi/horror movie and I enjoyed it.

I watched this on a whim when a friend lent the movie to it. I was not sure what I'd think of it, but I ended up thoroughly enjoying it so much I bought it on 4K myself. Story wise is a bit like Alien like others have said, but it is still very good and enjoyable. I really enjoyed this movies. Adding in 4K & HDR and that really improved the viewing experience. Very well done.

A very claustrophobic thriller will a very straight forward plot. Crew finds life, nurtures life, life says "Nah, dude.", crew abandons life and attempts to make it out alive. The ending has a good twist and is my favorite type of ending.

Finally viewed for the first time on Bluray as the trailer during theatrical release was terrible. I have to say the film is technically stunning to watch and the performances well done. Obvious nods to the Alien franchise as well as Gravity here.

I really sought this out for Jake Gyllenhaal. Avoid the spoilers, because there are some shocking moments to this movie, but definitely stick it out. The film is frequently terrifying and possesses one of the greatest finales I've seen in a while.
