I find the life-proof speaker to be awesome!! I am on the pool deck teaching and not only does it stay dry, it has great acoustics and is very durable!!

The AQUAPHONICS AQ11 is a very nice BT speaker. As advertised, it is waterproof to a reasonable depth. It is also drop-proof, dirt-proof, and snow-proof. These are handy. But, at the core, it's a speaker. So the primary way I judge it is based on how well it reproduces sound. In that regard, the AQ11 does very well. Sounds are pretty clear across all ranges. The only mild let-down is that the bass is a tad on the light side for such a bulky BT speaker. Don't let that make you think the bass is poor. It's not. It's just that it's not as good as I would have expected from such a solid block of speaker. I do appreciate that the built-in water-proof storage compartment is big enough to put a phone or most wallets. That can be handy. Battery life is another major plus. This guy has all-day power, which comes in very handy if you are on the go. For a BT speaker designed to be waterproof, it is a bit bulky. It's not really all that heavy, but you won't mistake it for a lightweight speaker you might toss in your luggage for a quick beach trip. You have to want to take this beast with you enough to make room for it. If you do take it, you'll be rewarded with quality sound and long battery. But you'll also be lugging around a substantially-sized brick. Is it worth the current price of $300? I can't answer that for you because it really comes down to your use. There are a few BT speakers that sound a bit better (particularly wrt bass) in this price range - but no others that have the combination of quality sound reproduction and life-proof construction. This is very close to a 5-star review, but I don't give those out easily. The AQ11 doesn't quite wow me, but it does impress me.

I bought this because they ran out of the Jbl's. It's waterproof!

The speaker is great. It even has a internal storage area to store your phone or ipod. The speaker has external buttons so you can change the music and volume without opening the storage area and getting your stuff wet. The only thing that I do not like is how the speaker tends to float with the speaker down to the water. We devised a plan to hang a small anchor on the opposite side to make the speaker be up instead of pointing down in the water. Other than that it is great. We have used it in a lake and at the pool with no problems with functionality.

Things great. Nearly have it turned up and fill a large room with great sound. Love the face that it's water reaistant and dirt and shock proof.

Great sound! I take this to the beach almost every time I go and I also enjoy how convenient in storage !! Waterproof and indestructible!! I can’t ask for more!!!

I love the speaker! It's loud and great for our outdoor activities (especially when we go kayaking) but after a month I seem to be having Bluetooth connection issues. I do not know if it's my phone or the speaker. My husband's phone works fine but his phone is not running the most up to date software. I have to buy a new phone in August, so I hope that corrects the issue. If not, then I wasted my money.

The Aquaphonics AQ11 Portable Bluetooth speakers won't ever win any beauty contests but this study all-black box is great choice for anyone who wants a party-ready go-anywhere sound system. It's waterproof after all. (it even floats!). And claims to be impervious to dirt and snow as well, something I was not able to test myself but judging from the heavy-duty build, it should pass with flying colors. The heavy rectangular box is made of heavy black plastic and all the controls, inputs and outputs and controls are are all sealed with heavy rubber gaskets. There's even and waterproof storage compartment in the bottom, just big enough for a phone, small wallet and keys.Just make sure all those doors are properly closed before you head out on an expedition. Perhaps the best thing about the Aquaphonics AQ11 is the sound -- which is surprisingly good. Excellent in fact. Very clean highs, strong mid range, with a somewhat less impressive-- but acceptable -- bass. You can only expect so much from speakers this small. If you like your music loud, this is the box for you. You can really crank this thing up, although the sound quality will suffer at higher volumes. Great for beach parties, pool parties and camping trips, since it is nearly indestructible. It comes with a charger -- a small pin type connection instead of USB, which I am not wild about. But will run more than 10 hours on a charge. And there's a USB out port for charging phones, tablets or other devices that you may be using with the speaker. Of course that will reduce the time the speaker will operate. Big backlit controls on the top allow you to turn it on and off, set volume, skip tracks. They all work fine. Overall, its a one of the better bluetooth speakers I have seen or heard. A good choice if you can handle the price.

Most importantly the sound quality is good and the speaker is loud especially on flat surfaces or next to a wall/cooler. The speaker is waterproof and I tested in our pool - yes it floats! Obviously I wouldn't recommend leaving it in the water but it'll give you peace of mind that in the event it got knocked in or splashed (very helpful if you're on a boat!) you won't need to worry. The dry box is great, and fits the Samsung S7 Edge in a slim case, no problem. I am trying to understand the USB port inside the drybox as most phones would not fit being plugged in.. so i guess if you have a smaller phone that might work but outside of that I'm not sure how you'd use it with the box closed outside of an mp3 player or ipod inside it. Both USB ports are only rated for either 1 amp or .5 amps which means it'll only slow charge or sustain a charge in most newer phones and in fact my phone will pop up and say it's detected weak charging. That all being said I'd still recommend this speaker given some areas where it could be better. It's nice and would rate it higher if not for a few things like more versatile charging capabilities (both what it can charge and how it can charge), a better way to tell the battery level.

This is a great speaker for the beach. Easy wash off, and dirt proof. No sand worries. Actually floated in the water. The compartment can hold an iPhone 10 or X without a case.

I teach PE outside and this has been absolutely perfect! It’s loud, it is sturdy and drop proof and waterproof! I love this and it is the best Bluetooth speaker ever! I love this!

The Lifeproof AQ11 is a very rugged bluetooth speaker with above average sound. It is built like a tank and meets military spec for dust and shock protection and is good to 1.2m submerged. Granted, these are manufacturer claims and I haven't tested them, but based on the the general build quality they certainly seem reasonable. The speaker is pretty large and heavy so if you are looking for something compact you might want to audition one first. Because of its rather large size it has a nice full sound, but still can't quite hit those bottom octaves with any authority. It gets loud enough to entertain a pretty sizable group, but does exhibit some distortion in the upper third of its output. It's large size also allows for it to hold large devices in the dry box built into the bottom of the enclosure. My iPhone 6S Plus fits, but only if I take my bumper case off. Pretty awesome feature if using it at the pool, beach, or maybe on a boat. Battery life is a pretty solid 12-15 hours depending on how loud you keep it cranked. It can also act as a battery to charge your phone which can be handy in a pinch. Last, but not least, you can take phone calls with it and the mic seems to work pretty well given the few calls I have used it with. Everyone I asked said they could hear me fine so that's a plus. The only real caveat I have with the speaker discounting the size for some is the price. There are a number of other 'off brands' for markedly less that offer many of the same features with very similar audio quality. Overall, I am happy with the speaker's performance and the build quality does give me comfort that it will last.

Great for being out by the pool or on the beach. Don’t have to worry about it getting wet. Only negative is I have to take my phone out of its case to get it to fit in the speaker.
