I haven't read the other reviews, so I'm not sure how others looked at it. I bought it because I needed something for the outdoors. Not something that would fall off a desk, but something that could protect a $800 investment as I rode reckless thru the woods on a mountain bike or streamlined on a road bike...and it took a nose dive at speed. It did and it has. Is it pricey? Sure, think of it, yer paying about 10% of the buying price...who cares?!?! If yer insane enough to pay that much for a phone, might as well protect it properly! I took it under water to about 2 ft, it held. I never really needed it for water, I have a GoPro Hero3 for that. I like the case comes with the special cord that keeps it watertight. Also the screen works great! None of those oily smudge things you usually get. Only issue, and you really can't avoid it is Suri can have issues hearing you properly. Sometimes no issues, sometimes I wanna ring her neck.

Product provides the safety and is good for my kids, but the front cover would annoying me because it does not sit flush. Additionally the opening at the bottom for headphones and charger is small. They give you an extension for the headphone jack which is nice, but some of my car chargers won't work on it

This is my second Lifeproof case and the only thing I have bad to say about it is that after about a year or so of being slid in and out of my back pocket one of the button covers ripped off. But it took over a year of hard use before that happened. I didn't drop it in the water to test it but it did get wet and it did protect my phone. I love the lifeproof cases and will likely not change any time soon.

This case has been great so far. The only complaint or difficulty I have had is that some people have had a hard time hearing me over the phone. This is due to the bottom microphone being covered up by the case on the iPhone. Otherwise, a solid product overall. I think I could have had similar protection for less money, but hopefully this case will last as long as I have this phone!

The case works well to protect the phone from water and shock. It is also nice since it is thinner than other cases and works with the touch passcode. The only downfalls to the case are that sometimes there is a small vibration sound when the volume is up and hits a certain pitch, also it is slightly slick, so it is harder to get as good of a grip as the otterbox provides.

We purchased this case on the same day my husband got an iPhone 5. We put the phone in the case and there was a lump where the camera is on the phone. I called the company and even sent them a picture of the raised section. I asked if this was normal and he said no. So we removed the case and were going to take it back to Best Buy. Just after this, my husband dropped the phone (which had no case) and broke the screen !!! Maddening! $99 later, the screen was fixed. I took the case and phone back to BB and they said that it didn't look normal either. WE got several other Life proof cases exactly like this one and they all have the raised part! DUMB! No one at best buy or at the Lifeproof company could say this was normal, but it was normal. So if you see that the plastic screen is raised over the camera lens, this is normal. The second problem is that the camera cannot take sharp clear pictures because the piece of (raised) transparent plastic covering the camera lens does not allow a clear picture. The case itself does work for waterproof needs as my son bought one of these cases and dropped it in the toilet and the phone was completely dry. I am only recommending this because my husband and son like it for the protective features.

I love the idea of a water proof case for the phone. We bought this for my daughter's iPhone 5s. From a durability standpoint, it seems to be pretty solid. i would say the Otterbox Defender series is still a better choice if you're concerned about protecting your phone from drops, etc. The main issue we had with the Life Proof case is with simply talking on the phone. With the case on the phone, the person on the other end of the line cannot hear you clearly. The case is designed such that there is a little "flapper" cover inside the microphone hole that is supposed to keep water out. The problem is that is very easily gets stuck and also keeps your voice out. It seems that this is a common theme in online discussion boards for this case. The recommendation to blow into the whole to free up the "flapper" did not work on our case so we returned it and went with the tried and true Otterbox Defender. It isn't water proof, but at least you can talk on the phone.

Great color. Light weight. it keeps my phone safe from water damage.

This case will protect your phone well from everything it says it will-- water, dust, etc. It also puts up with high impact falls. The downside is the phone sounds bad coming through the case, and the screen cover is so thick that the touch response is a little less precise. Overall a great investment with minor drawbacks.

I have purchased five of these cases within the last year for the iPhone 5s (I have five family members). I love the case overall, but had an issue with two of them. The oldest one showed signers of abnormal wear at the top left corner, probably related to in/out pocket wear, but still not normal/right. Lifeproof replaced very quickly & for free. Kudos to Lifeproof. The 5th new one quickly developed something called "Newton Rings." This drives my wife nuts. I will be contacting Lifeproof again on this issue. I hope they have an easy fix, or maybe Lifeproof will just replace the front case. The other four are working just great and I would recommend buying a case for protection. Note: I did not get cell phone insurance on any of the iPhones.

This case is a replacement for my last life proof case, which I accidentally dropped in a small pool of water mixed with oil and gas. It stayed there for several minutes because I couldn't reach it. Once i was able to retrieve it, i powered it off and dried the exterior. I removed the case and the phone was completely dry!!!!!

This is the best rough-and-tumble iPhone case on the market. It's not only shock resistant but also completely waterproof. It also looks great; maintaining a slim, sleek appearance. Although it's a little bit pricey, it's one of the best cases that you can buy. The only real downside is accessing the earphone port can be a bit awkward. To keep it's waterproof integrity, the case has a built-in rubberized screw that covers the port. This has to be unscrewed every time you want to plug in your earphones and also requires an adapter to screw in because the case is too deep for a regular your phone plug (the adapter comes in the box). However, this is a small price to pay to keep your iPhone in mint condition. I would recommend this case to anyone.

By far the best case out there. This is my second one as the last one wore out from use. ( Had it for 3 years). The case is nice and slim which makes it easy to fit into all phone holders made for our cars. I have a tendency to drop my phone and it has never broken in this case. Truly a case worth trying...

I purchased this case for my daughter. It is an attractive case. Fairly slim profile for such protection. It even protects the screen and it reasonably water proof. Overall I would say it is one of the better protective case I have purchased for the iphone, and I have tried quite a few, including OtterBox.

I use the Lifeproof case everyday - it protects my phone from drops but also, being waterproof, it has saved my phone in the rain, dropped in a sink of water and even accidentally put down in water on the table. I wear it on the tractor and it keeps dust and dirt out of the phone also. Nice!

solid protection. iphone is in a case that is very well designed and comfortable to hold. only problem is that it does not feel i have an iphone, because it really is protected and well hidden in the case...

I bought this case because it claims to be waterproof and shockproof. It looks sturdy without adding extra bulk. Even though it might offer the best protection, I can't honestly confirm this because I have not dropped my cell phone or gotten it wet.

Well the case is waterproof and it works but when you put it on the front where the front camera is, is bulky and when you play music and stuff the sound is totally different. Don't get me wrong it is waterproof but not all WOW that I expected to be.

Works great to seal out everything. However, my daughter won't use it as she says it makes the screen hard to use. Also you have to carry around the adapter to listen to music. If you are looking for a strong case it works but there are tradeoffs.

Purchased to protect my phone on vacation! Best protection as well as ease of use that i've ever seen. Kept all parts dry in the ocean and at the pool. I use it as protection when i'm near the water with my phone. Easy access to apps, music, water proof. Love it.
