On the phone, I couldn't hear, and I couldn't be heard. The last two for the iphone 6 and 6s have tremendously improved membranes so now I can hear and speak! How novel. But why do I buy them? Absolutely rock solid for swimming ie "waterproofness" Being able to interact and swipe on the actual Apple glass is the best part. That's why I'm not a fan of the Fre case. That one has a plastic overlay on the screen. Thats the superiority of the iphone, for the UX! Amazing against impact drops ie hiking/ dropping backpacks with stainless steel water bottles on top that would have crushed everything. My only current beef is the hassle of flipping the door to charge and the headphone adapter thingy that has to be screwed in. But thats the reason its waterproof. If Apple ever gets its act together and make the iphone itself waterproof, I would still get a lifeproof for the shock resistance. I also commend their customer service, they will replace (for a nominal fee) if something goes wrong. Just make sure you keep the box with the bar code on it.
