I wanted to love this case. I felt like it was truly protecting my new phone. It was cute and had a clear back so you could see the rose gold phone color, but the volume button didn’t work. It was a twist button that wouldn’t flip the silent button. I first noticed after I bought it, when I had to take the case off in order to put my phone on silent for work. This became a major problem so I had to return it. Maybe this was because it was really made for the 7 and I’m assuming they still had the larger button? I bought an 8 and it said it was compatible with both. Additionally, it was a fairly large case which made my phone seem much larger than it actually was. Honestly though, I would’ve kept it if it weren't for the volume switch issue.

Protects my phone massively from any damage, great product.

The good: Thin, slick and strong enough to protect my white IPhone 8. The color I bought blends very well with my IPhone 8. The bad and very bad...the design to turn off/on the ringer button is terrible. It someone looking for thin. sleek cases and don’t mind to splurge some $$ and can work or overcome design deficiencies of the ringer part, then go for it.

...it will NOT stay snapped closed on my iPhone 8. I had a life proof case along time ago for my iPhone 3S, and it was terriffic. My slippery new iPhone 8 needed the same kind of protection. I should’ve returned the case the first day, when the corner of the case wouldn’t stay shut. The case was unbelievably difficult to install, and I assumed it would stay put that much better for having such a snug fit. Now, barely 3 months later, the entire upper half of the case will not stay shut. Lifeproof’s warranty submission form is among any industry’s best, being super easy to file, and very accessible. However, after paying nearly $80 for this case not three months ago, I’m a little salty about paying six dollars’ “handling” fee to replace my defective case. Not sure if I’ll use Lifeproof or Otter again.

Worth every penny....expensive but serves its purpose

This is a great looking case, but the rubber casing around it started to peel off after 6 months of use. Thankfully there is a lifetime guarantee so I was able to get another case from the company for the $5.99 shipping fee.

I have purchased “life proof” cases in the past and have always been very satisfied. When old one finally gave out I decided to replace it. Best Buy and their policy of standing behind their products is as good of a product support program as I have seen.

I dropped my phone the other day and it did a great job protecting it. The only reason for 4 stars is because the case doesn't fit 100% back to normal after only 1 drop. But that's also why I love the lifetime warranty!

Great case. Just had a problem with the volume button

I was just looking for something different. I liked this sleek, see-through clear gel type case. Looks great on the phone and provides some protection.

I absolutely love this case. Great protection without adding a lot of bulk to the form factor of the phone.

The LifeProof - Next Case for Apple® iPhone® 7 and 8 - Black Crystal does a great job. We got my son the iPhone 8 and wanted it protected. The case is slim, light...but gets the job done.

The case feels good in your hand. It does not feel like it will slip. Very easy to put on.

Normally Lifeproof is my go to case. Unfortunately after just a couple of months the rubber bumper around the edge and the screen has started to delaminate and pull away from the harder plastic portion of the case. it’s too bad because i love the low profile and style. This is the second of this case to have these issues. Given the expense I wont be getting another.

Case works great and has protected my phone the few times I have already dropped it. It is a little slick or smooth. Otherwise, a good buy.

It's a solid case and choice for those looking to protect their investment in an expensive iphone X. Besides the transparent plastic case (it's a durable plastic) it has a grey rubber side all around that you can see in the pic. A little ugly so if you care about that may be a reason not to get. However, I was mostly interested in making sure my phone doesn't break so that was worth it for me.

I bought this for my wife who placed it in a pocket for work and after about two months the rubber on the sides came off and apart. I submitted a inquiry through life-proof and got a replacement at no charge. She has not had the same issues. ***Also do not put your phone in water with this case. We did and lost a phone and was not covered by Life proof or Apple care!

If you plan on taking your phone in and out, i dont think the case is ideal, but it is a good case if you leave it in.

A little hard to push in the turn on button, but this case has protected the phone through several falls.
