It sits nicely on a table or anywhere. BUT the lamination on front/top began heating & rippling within the 1st week of use.

The knobs, and the presets leave a lot to be desired. very difficult to see any setting labels for the two knobs on the back, and there does not seem to be an auto shut off after certain amount of time or heat generated Definitely heats different than other space heaters it’s more of a concentrated, immediate vicinity heating

It keeps my living room warm and the fire log effect is great, even works independently from the heater part. It's small, portable. It will please even the Scrooge in your house (if you have one).
