Pro: why you should get it I did research on different smart light bulbs, i looked at a lot of reviews on youtube. This was the best choice in my opinion. The light bulb is easy to set up. For $59.99 it gets bright you have millions of color on your phone. You can set the light on a schedule when to turn on and off. •With IFTT you can do a lot more like letting it turn on when your alarm goes off. •if you got an Alexa you can connect the light bulb and make life easier Just saying: For me personally I had to get used to not touching my light switch to turn off and on at the beginning but doing so the light acts like a normal light bulb. The light bulb automatically connects back to the WiFi. Con: It is a great product but the light bulb being a cloud service you have to expect times when the light bulb will not respond. To beware of problems go on lifx.com and head to the Bottom of the page and click cloud status and there you can subscribe and get text messages when there is a problem. •LIFX handles the issues quick Can be a con but really does not bother me since the design of light bulb. The light bulb seems to shine almost downward but since I got a small room it lights all up but the corners of my room could use lamps.

These are Good WiFi Connected Bulbs!

I purchased these bulbs along side the Philips Hue 3rd Gen bulbs. These are brighter than the Hue bulbs and the colors might be a little richer. I actually ended up going with the Hue bulbs because they seem to be less laggy and more in sync with each other when powering on, off and changing colors. One of the biggest benefits that I found with these bulbs is the fact that they keep their current setting if the power goes out and turns back on. Both the the Lifx and Hue automatically turn themselves back on when power is restored, but the Lifx will keep color and brightness setting. The Hue reset back to default settings, which are white light and 100% brightness once powered back on. I was using these bulbs with the SmartThings hub so that I could control them with Google Home. They responding pretty quickly and could change colors, but had some issues with them and had to sometimes fix color or brightness with the Lifx app. That's probably just do to the Hue lights being able to be controlled natively by the Google Home. Don't let my configuration discourage you from purchasing these bulbs as they are pretty nice. So, conclusion is. Pros: Retain settings Brighter and Richer Colors The UI (for Android at least) is better than Hue's (IMO) Suppose to last longer than Hue bulbs (as per tech specs) WiFi, so no hub is needed I've read that IFTTT and Alexa have good support for these bulbs (Source: just did some Googling) and rumor is that Google Home will be getting support (just saying..) soon. Soon could mean 1000 years, but hey.. Cons: A little laggy and unbalanced when making changes (Your experience may differ) A bit pricey, but not to bad considering that you don't need a hub to get started and they suppose to last longer (so not sure if it's really a con) No native Google Home support yet Not much else about this device. If the 3rd Gen Hue wasn't in stock at the time, then I probably would have just kept these and been happy with them. Hopefully you find this more helpful than confusing. I apologize if this leaves you the latter.

LIFX always have very bright vivid colors. I especially like that they are 1100 lumins (75 watt equivalent). Most WiFi color bulbs are only 800 lumins (60 watt equivalent), and it's nice to find some that are brighter. The downside of LIFX is they are a little pricey, but the app is well designed and easy to use.

Great smart bulb with easy operability. I got this brand in particular because I use Apple HomeKit and this is one of the very few that is compatible. Now I can control the light with any Apple device. I can turn it on and off, change the color and dim as I wish. This light is 1100 lumens and it is very bright! It is easy to connect and the best thing is that it does not require a separate hub to control. You can download the app to get even more control or control it through an IFTTT app. You can set the light to turn on by a specific time or set it by proximity so when you get home the lights are on and ready. This is a great way to started on changing your house into a smart home. If you are not in a rush, you can often find this bulb on a sale and slowly start adding this bulbs all around your home.

Overall the light bulb is a great option. The colors look great and the brightness width(idk if that's the correct terminology) is awesome too. It works great with Alexa as well most of the time. Sometimes the connection will have an issue and it won't work with Alexa or the lifix app. I assumed it might be my connection but I had the Phillips hue and it worked great with no problems. Other than that though no issues at all.

Why have a light bulb that cost $60? Well, what if you want the lights to be on when you come home? Maybe put on some mood lighting? Or dim the lights so you don't destroy your night vision? Maybe you just want to party? Perhaps you're like me and just wanted some lights to pair with your Google Home, so you can illuminated and extinguish by command? The lights are pretty bright, and one would light a small bedroom pretty well. The colors are very vibrant and the white options are very plentiful, if not fine tuneable; color temp goes from 2500 to 9000K, in 500 degree steps. They integrated with Google Assistant and IFTTT very well, I have my lights set up to flash whenever I get a notification on my Android phone. My only caveat is that if I were outfitting a whole house with these, is probably go with Hue, only because they won't cause overhead and client problems on my WiFi network. That brand connects via Zigbee in a meshed network to a centralized hub that's connected to your router, whereas these connect to your router directly. As such, I think they are great for one or two rooms, but not the whole house, unless you want to take the time and have them on a totally separate network...

Lifx bulbs are great! You don't need a dedicated hub. They are compatible with so many smart home platforms. I have 4 in my home. Once you screw them into the lamp fixture, download the app, setup your login account info and turn on the lamp. The app will ask for your home wifi info and connect to the bulb. There are almost infinite settings because it uses a color and brightness wheel style controls. Plus, there are presets, programmable groups, effects and timers that can be integrated into other smart home platforms. I use Google Home and Amazon Alexa and have a Samsung Smart Hub and LG SmarthinQ on my devices that all work with Lifx! Highly recommend these bulbs!

When you want a light that can simply connect to Wi-Fi through an intuitive app, this is the lightbulb for you. This blub and one other one from LIFX were used to replace an older light system that required a hub, which worked well for the most part. But having the hub powered on and somewhere in between where all the light can communicate with the hub was a bit of a hassle. Plus once connected to my Wi-Fi network, I was able to connect both LIFX lights to both my Google and Alexa assistants with little hiccups along the way. Nice and bright lights and can display a wide variety of colors.

Quality of lighting (brightness and hues) is broader than with the Phillips Hue lights that I also own. The LIFX are more stable with electrical outages (maintain memory), no controller to keep adjusting for new entries or features, and a more convenient app to control.

I've been looking for alternatives to the Phillips Hue and I found this. Phillips Hue has a max of 800 Lumen. Not bright enough for a large room. So, I found this one with 1100 Lumen. Works really well and has brightness to spare. App: It's easy to use and I have not run into problems with it. Initially, I had to reset the light a few times in order for the Update to take. Once the Update was done, however, it worked like a charm. Haven't had any issues with it working with Alexa either.

The major Pros for these bulbs. 1) These are comparable in size to the Hue bulb but provide 300 more lumens making it possible to get brighter colors while still being able to dim for a more relaxing mood. 2) The colors seem so much richer than other smart bulbs. 3) The LIFX mobile app is intuitive and easy to use. The only Con: 1) They are more expensive than other brands so you have to watch closely for sales. Of course that extra cost gives you the above pros so maybe its a wash.

    Amazing stand alone smart bulb

I purchased this smart bulb because of the other great reviews that it received and because of its compatibility with HomeKit, but I was a little skeptical at first because it was from a brand that I did not recognize (up until this point I was only familiar with the Philips Hue smart bulbs). After purchasing this smart bulb it was very quick and easy. I was able to easily set it up in the settings app under the Wi-FI section on my phone and it was all done! COLORS The colors on this smart bulb are amazing! This bulb is surprisingly bright and the colors are accurate and beautiful. I can control the colors through the Home app on my iPhone and also through the Life app the you can download from the App Store. LIFX APP The app for this bulb is also very well developed. It has a lot of preset colors that are very cool (they have presets for sports, mellow, exciting, etc.) They also have some cool effects that you can turn on that would be nice for having people over. They have a setting to change the color of the light slowly or also one that plays along with the music. Although, I noticed for the music visualization preset it had a small delay and was not synced very well with the music that was playing. PRICE This is the only part that I was not so satisfied with. The bulb's retail price is $60 which is a little pricey and the cost isn't really different from other companys' offerings for similarly colored smart bulbs (i.e. Philips Hue). I wish this smart bulb was like $15 cheaper and I would've given it 5 stars. OVERALL In general this smart bulb is amazing and I love it. I am really inclined to try out the LIFX Mini bulb which is $15 cheaper because I like this bulb so much. The app is very well made and the setup for this smart bulb is very straightforward. I would definitely recommend this smart bulb to anyone who likes to have friends/family over or just wants to add a little color to your home.

Get this on sale, from time to time they are around $45. It is still la lot of money for a light bulb, but this will outshine Hue easily, the app/features are better and no hub is required, so for just a couple of lights it is more worth it due to not having to buy the hub.

I love these incredibly expensive lights, despite that they don't really tend to do very much when it comes to anything extra like light cycling or anything like that. There's also the niche issue of not being able to use mobile data to control the bulb, which is inconvenient when you want to bring it with you for things like projects and whatnot. However, the range of colors these bulbs have is excellent and the app itself, once it gets going, is easy to use. Set-up in the app is kind of a nightmare if you don't have patience. You never really know what it's doing when it constantly cycles through your wi-fi connection and the bulb "connection", which makes you feel like it's in a boot loop until you hit the back button and realize the bulb's been connected the whole time. Also recently dealt with a firmware update issue that ended up bricking one of my bulbs, but I already had a replacement plan in place.
