Director James Wan elevates this creepy tale of ghost spirit danger. Teresa Palmer & Maria Bello do a great acting job in dealing with mysterious events and trying to survive a malevolent force. I always say , Asians do horror better than anyone and this keeps proving it.

The film starts off with a bang, watching Lights Out will get you scared in the first 5 minutes. I liked it also because it was very original as far as the plot. I give it a thumbs up.

Maria Bello makes this movie worth seeing. Her character is the strongest as she usually is when she's onscreen. The plot is hard to follow at times, but it is a good movie overall.

I've become immune to jump scares (which this movie still has of course) but it also is heavy on the creepiness which I absolutely love. Great concept for a horror movie. Check out the short film on YouTube if you're not sure. But I would definitely recommend it.

I love the cast in this film. I really wanted to see them all survive. Being a horror film, unfortunately, that is usually not the case. Diana was super creepy and I loved every moment that she was on the screen. If you like horror films, give this one a watch!

I really enjoyed this movie. There were some good jump scares and they kept the scenarios they were in more realistic. If you enjoy ghost movies, you should give this one a try.

For a movie based entirely on a 3 min short that some college kids created... this was a great take. Dececnt acting, original script, a bit predictable... but entertaining. Creepy idea and scarry thought. Makes you think about being scared in the dark again.

We rented this movie and my daughter loved it. Has been begging me to buy it ever since. The plot was definitely different than most scary movies we've seen. Has some good jump scares. Give it a watch. Also, it came in perfect condition and played just fine.

Very scary and a great use of shadows. Interesting story line. It took a while for the back story to emerge but it pulled it all together in the end. Good date night flick.

Think of any modern day horror film these days and think of all the same troupes they use. That's exactly this movie but it somehow works so well. It's not genre changing but it certainly takes the current genre and breathes a little fresh into it.

A few good scares in this movie. If you saw the online video of the original short film and liked that. Then you will like this movie. The ending was predictable though.

I thought the movie was really good. Every scene meant something. From beginning to end you will stay engaged. My issue with the movie was it was about 1hr 15min long.

I was excited to learn they made a full length film from the short of the same name. Not super scary, but still a great movie; especially if you are a James Wan fan!

Better than average horror movie that is kept short and sweet! Nothing is dragged out and the movie pretty much gets to the point without a lot of filler stuff.

After years of underwhelming horror franchise titles, 2016 finally saw some solid original horror. Lights Out may have been the best one behind Don't Breathe.

If you like horror, this offers some good jump scares. It isn't the best horror movie of all time but it is worth a watch for fans of James Wan style horror.

It was a good movie, new idea for a horror film and not the typical remakes. Thought that it would be a little scarier by the previews. Still creepy though.

I thought this was one of the better scary movies I have seen in a while. It was not as good as The Conjuring movies, but better than most others recently.
