This is a fantastic game, with all of the series staples you would expect from a Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio game. The voice actors, as usual, have brought their A-game, delivering fantastic voice performances. The plot is also interesting, weaving together the stories of two famous historical samurai in a story with historical and fictional elements. If you are a fan of the Like a Dragon series, or just interested in historical Japan, this game is well worth playing.

A very addictive and fun new intro into the Yakuza game franchise. This time though instead of present day japan you're in the past during the shogun and samurai era.The world game is just as entertaining and addictive to play as previous Yakuza games and nothing to worry about with the gameplay mechanics if you ever played the previous yakuza games. Also if you can't get the PS5 version no worries as the PS4 version allows for a free upgrade to the PS5 version if you wish to do so. Overall a welcomed addition to the Yakuza series.

Excellent graphics, gameplay and story. Tons of fun just running around as a samuri. Be careful, the audio is in Japanese with no option for an English version.

Great addition to the Yakuza series, a spin-off that tells a historical fiction story. It isn't the best in the series in any particular area, but it's good enough in every area that it's one of my favorites!

I got into the Yakuza series years back with Yakuza 5 (PS3) and then with 0 (PS4). I remember becoming aware of the unlocalized spin-offs of Kenzan and Ishin and wishing we’d someday get a chance to play the games in english - I even tried playing Kenzan with google translate and youtube lets plays and just couldnt do it. — Finding out Ishin was finally getting localized was a dream come true, and this particular version is fantastic. It plays more similarly to 0 than it does the newer entries in the series, but the samurai setting puts such a unique spin on the tried and true formula. In short, it looks great, plays slightly stiff yet still works well, and the story/atmosphere have pulled me in. This is highly recommended!

This is a remake of a previously Japan only ps3/ps4 game. Knowing that, it has some jank from there alongside a fairly large amount of grinding. Get past that though and you'll get a very entertaining historical period drama with a good amount of side content to mess around in. Well worth getting on sale at any time in your Yakuza/Like a Dragon series journey.

This was a very long game with many side quests to complete along with the main story. The graphics on the ps4 worked perfectly fine. I would definitely recommend this game to any fan of the yakuza series.

Anothet great entry in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon Franchise! Glad this title was finally localized here in the US, and coming as a remake is a bonus! Has all of Yakuza/Like a Dragon content you can dream of: multi-style combat, minigames, and a banger soundtrack!
