There's no other director out there besides Steven Spielberg that can achieve such a wide range of variety and nuance in their film making. To go from Jurassic Park, to Minority Report, to E.T., to Lincoln, somehow Spielberg can see a direct portal which leads to the heart of every story. He then finds all the love inside himself and perfectly transfers it to the screen. My favorite.

This was a movie I've been wanting to see for a long time... Daniel Day Lewis play Lincoln and did a great job (well, he won an Oscar for it too, I think)... anyway, although the movie was good, it was a bit long and dull in spots. This was on sale so it was a good deal, anyway...!!!

This is a stunning portrayal of the human drama behind the legendary Lincoln whom we all think we know. Daniel Day Lewis becomes Lincoln, the man, as he struggles through the most difficult and historically significant period of his presidency. It is full of action, humanity and drama and, at the end, it portrays a very appropriate mix of triumph and tragic loss.

The movie was true to the historical era it represents and stuck to most of the historical facts that surrounded Lincoln's presidency. However, I thought it could have used a few more action scenes. It got a little slow in parts. I think it has great visuals and puts one into the Civil War era visually. Daniel Day Lewis was well cast as Abraham Lincoln. He did look a lot like him to me. I think he captured Lincoln's personality as far as I could tell. He was decisive, melancholy and humorous. All were traits of Abraham Lincoln I believe. .

interesting take on Lincoln's final great historical conundrum during the last days of the Civil War with an interesting script showing the important ideas and deep conversations and motivations of our statesman of the times. Certainly something missing in modern times.

A vert good movie that summarizes the last months of Lincoln's life. Likely the best portrayal of Lincoln and the man he really was without the mystery and grandeur. My only issue is the obvious liberties taken to put a "modern" twist on it but I guess that is the artistic liberty of the director, writers, and producers….a great film regardless

I have a Master's Degree in U.S. History and I thought that it was incredibly accurate. The acting was superb.

This movie exceeds my previous favorite historical movie, John Adams. Having read the book "A Team of Rivals" I understood the specific historical aspects of the story. I think it would improve it to have historical notes, similar to the John Adams DVD, that can be turned on to point out specific historical information throughout the movie.

Bought this blu ray hoping to see a more expansive history of our greatest president. Instead, got only a brief slice of one aspect of his illustrious career. I didn't ever get use to Day Lewis' high pitched voice, (I guess I always imagined Lincoln as having more of a deep, bass sound to him). I did enjoy not only his political hardships, but also how that reflected back to his family life, and other areas of his life. I hope they make additional episodes, as this was only one battle he faced during his presidency.

Another masterpiece by Steven Spielberg! Daniel Day Lewis was riveting in this role...bringing back to life Abraham Lincoln before our eyes working through the tumultuous efforts to end the Civil War! The remaining all star cast were also great; especially Sally Fields in the role of Mary Todd Lincoln.

I watched this movie with my high school son as it was required for him and I wanted to spend time with him. I have never been a history buff; I had no expectations for this movie before we watched it. It more than pleasantly surprised me; it was engrossing and the time flew by. I highly recommend this movie.

With a brilliant script, every actor excels in giving the viewer a feeling of being with them. The Day-Lewis portrayal of Lincoln can't be beat. The rest of the cast---especially Sally Fields and Tommy Lee Jones---are equally great. Lincoln will join other Spielberg films among the all time best ever made.

This is one of the best movies i have ever owned. Actors have done a good job. Good to know a biggest piece of a history.

If you enjoy history movies this one is well done. Danial Day Lewis does an incredible job portraying President Lincoln.

Every American should see this movie to understand the sacrifices and issues great American have overcome to be the country we are and hopefully reverse the downward trend of the last years. Of course a great story very very well told. It tells the factual story and the powerful emotions.

A lot of people told me this movies kinda boring a cure for insomnia it belongs in school etc but screw ‘em Spielberg’s a genius lol love this movie regardless if it’s historical lol.

Not for the casual movie goer. This film takes dedication. Not fast moving but is true to life. I appreciated the fact that they did not show events at Ford's theater. We all know what happened there. Encourages second viewing to catch all the details and conversations that occur during the movie and gives a good idea of the feeling and ambiance of the time. For those who like American History and aren't looking for action every moment.

This is a blueray dvd of the movie Lincoln , it is without any glitches. So what can you expect me to say concerning the movie. the price was in range of value for the movie. Was it the cheapest price for the dvd. No but it was the most convenient place to buy the movie, thanks.

May seem at times to be too big of a subject to take on, but this movie captures the persona of this American icon at the pinnacle of his accomplishment. The writing is stellar and the cinematography captures the scenes to take us there with him.

Danial day lewis does a stunning performance as lincoln. Steven speilberg once again creates a magnificent visual with period costumes of the civil war. A must own dvd for fans of one or both.
