I actually was very excited to see BB had these new Line 6 Spidervalves in stock, but it was my disappointment after I picked it up and drove it home to realize it was missing some of the key features that the MK2 has. This is the prevoius generation. I had been reading reviews of the second generation, and this one is missing several key features, including 4 amps and 7 effects (I think 7) and midi control capability. Now I'll admit that the mis-understanding was entirely my fault, except no one anywhere else sells the first generation. I think BB has the last of the stock of them LOL. If you're looking for a deal on a amp, that is still pretty killer, I'd highly recommend the MKII, although this one is a little less expensive, there's alot more features. BB music store did order me the MKII. And I am VERY happy with that and highly recommend it to anyone. This is most of the features, and most of the amp models, and they sound amazing.

My dad recently bought this amp after his best friend suggested it to him. I did the research for him, and I came home one day and he's sitting there playing with his new "toy". Regardless, the tone blew me away. I use an original Spider I, and my dad loves it. This impressed him even more. I'm not sure you'll ever need to use ALL 400+ presets, but there are some fantastic sounds on there (I suggest the Steve Vai preset of For The Love Of God). It's also one of the loudest amps I've ever heard, especially for only being 40 watts, but that's Class A tube power for you. If you get the opportunity, check this amp out... you won't be disappointed, no matter what style you play.
