This review almost failed before it ever got started. The first several episodes of this anime were painstakingly slow and annoying. Case in point... it took me several attempts to get through the first 4 episodes but as soon as I hit episode 5 or 6 I flew through the remaining 6 or 7 in one sitting and I am left highly anticipating the next installment. The main character is annoying from the get go and he doesn't get much better by episode 12. Fortunately, he is not the reason to watch this anime. The best reason to watch this anime is the supporting cast you meet about half way through this series (the Judah corp). All of his compatriots have much more interesting characters than the main and they are all ultimately more like able. The 2 main love interests are done well too. I don't want to give too much away in this review but if you like Mech based anime and comedic love stories then this will more than fit the bill if you can endure the first 4-5 episodes. The CG battle scenes and the non traditional art style grew on me but it took a while. For those of you who can give this series a chance I think you will ultimately be rather surprised. Even the villains are cooler than the main character in this one though! LOL

I always love a story when the fate of a world lays in the hands of an hero, what do you expect when a mech falls into the hands, or on top, of someone you never wanted to be the hero? This is a great story about a guy who learns the hard ways of what it means to be a hero or "an ally of justice." Of course you can never have a great story without a romance triangle and of course comedy. Most importantly, the CGI fight scenes were excellent, the same goes to the story.

Plot in the 1st few episodes is so bad I almost stopped watching it. The main character was too over the top. By the start if the second disc the plot and character devolpment was much better, by the end I couldn't wait for the next part.
