Love this unit. Plug and play is always the way to go. Solid metallic body construction. Can be rack mounted, wall mounted, or just set on desk, table, shelf, etc. I ordered this switch to use with all my devices in entertainment system in one room. Was so impressed with it, I ordered another for the basement feed to send to other points in the house. Now I have an 8 port switch on my router, ( linksys EA9500 ), feeding an 8 port switch that feeds into another 8 port switch sending gig lines throughout the house. Have had both switches for close to a year with no problems and at this price point that's a win win.

Works as it should. Plug your router into one of the ports and you get 7 more out for hard wiring your devices. Nice metal case, stays solid, and has holes on the bottom for a wall mount. Stays pretty cool too, i keep mine in the garage (thats where all my wires were already ran to when i started my home network project) and it doesnt overheat or anything. 0 data loss too. I get the same speed from the switch that i would get being plugged directly into the router. This switch just works.

Simple gigabit switch gives me extra ports for my various stuff as I have personal and work computers as well as TV's that I prefer to be hardwired to the internet for the fastest possible speed. Plug and play is the best.

Bought this to expand the devices in my room since the router is in another room and I was tired of my "OK" wireless connection for a few things. Simple to set up and use. I was able to use this on my home PC, Xbox One X, PS4, and work laptop/docking station without issue. Haven't done any specific speed tests with this particular device, but I haven't had any issues with speed and connectivity. I know it's dependent on the cable type you have (CAT5 vs CAT6) and your ISP provider. A recommended buy if you need "hard wire" any devices in the same area.

Great reliable switch. Have used these in the past and they're easy to connect, reliable and great for networks that need more wired connections. Highly recommended for home and small business networks that need those extra connections.

I was given an Alexa Echo for Mother’s Day and wanted to get more out of it. I decided to start with lighting, and went with Phillips Hue, because it provided the most versatile lighting options. The drawback is that it requires a hub and I had no available Ethernet ports. *Cue Superhero theme music* In comes the Linksys 8-port Gigabyte Ethernet Switch to save the day! Easily installed, I now have my Hue hub working and extra ports as we add other smart home feature. I could not be happier!

Great product if you need is extra ethernet or networking ports. Highly recommended if you want to improve/maintain good Wi-Fi speeds. The more devices are hardwired, the less traffic there is over Wi-Fi. Installation is super easy and it can be wall mounted or simply placed on a desk or your network cabinet. Very fast speeds even with simultaneous streaming/uses on multiple devices. No complaints from me!

The switch works very well as do all the Linksys products I own. Operates automatically and at gigabit speeds. This unit has several computers plugged into it and there is no noticeable lag when on the internet. Plug the line in into the #1 slot and 4 other devices can be plugged into the remaining spots. Unlike a router, there is no "Input" port only the 5 along the back. Each also has a connected and activity led. There are no front lights.
