Out of the box, connected it to my modem, and using the Quick Start Guide, I linked the router to my modem. After the flashing light went solid, the SSID was populated, and I entered the W-Fi Password from the sticker on the Guide. My browser opened up by itself, and there was like a "wizard" that popped up, where I could change the SSID to a unique name, and change the password. all done, then I got the “Your router was not successfully setup” message in the browser. 2 hours of following the suggestions on how to remedy this, I went into online chat, who answered very quickly. I was told to do the steps I had followed online (reset router, unplug caples, rtc). Nothing worked, and the rep sent me a transcript of our chat, with links to fixes. THEY WERE THE EXACT SAME LINKS I'D BEEN TO BEFORE I WENT TO CHAT. SIX hours later, I decided to both, stick a pin into the reset hole, while simultaneously holding the w-fi protected setup button. I refreshed the router setup page (192.168.1.1), and I was finally able to complete the information I had initially entered. I *believe* that's what got me going, as I had followed the instructions step-by-step, DOZENS OF TIMES. If the simultaneous pressing of the restart and setup buttons were mentioned, I didn't see it, or I just got lucky. In any event I was FINALLY able to complete access the WEB version of the router's "control center" as I had read that the default password for the Setup Page was "admin." You can control the router from a remote location, using the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi page. I'm not even sure, or care at this point. Some good news: I get BLAZING SPEEDS wirelessly- over 80 megs downstream. on my new laptop (of course, I don't need THAT much speed, but I guess gamers would). The router itself won't give you that speed, your modem does, just to be clear. It has 2 channels, 2.4Ghz & 5 Ghz. The "1200" after the AC (as in all AC routers) means the SUM total of the bandwidth of all the channels, 1200 Mbps=1.2 Gigabytes. You may want to do some research on this, as sales people I spoke to, clearly didn't know what the numbers meant, but, "you'll need it," while suggesting a higher end model. Now that I'm setup, I'm happy, but would only suggest this to someone with the caveats in mind. It's a known issue in the Linksys community forums. Buyer Beware.

      Hi, SlimJim,

We have taken note of the feedback regarding the setup process as the Smart Setup of our Linksys Smart Wi-Fi routers should make the setup process smooth and seamless. Nonetheless, we're glad to know that the router is now working as expected. Feel free to email the case number to [email protected] so our Escalation Engineers can review and investigate what happened with your device and our chat support experience.

Setup was easy, and the Linksys Smart wifi interface is easy to use. It's nice having the 2.4 and 5 Ghz options to handle older and newer devices. Everything connected easily except my Visio Smart TV. I don't know if there a compatibly issue at work here, or something else going on. When connected, data was really slow, the TV was always buffering, and connection dropped frequently. After spending hours tinkering to try and figure it out I gave up and we're just running all the internet related stuff like Netflix and You Tube through the Blu-Ray player. Super frustrating we can't use the Smart features of our Smart TV with this router. The previous router which was also a Linksys worked with this TV without issue.

      Hi Daytona1,

Thank you for the time you spent in making this review for the Linksys EA6350. We know you've had some difficulty with it and we are here to assist you. There is a possibility that your Visio Smart TV may not be compatible with the type of security enabled on your router since that's the only device that can't connect to the network. We'd appreciate if you could share with us your network's wireless settings so we can sort this out. Please email us the details at [email protected] along with the link to this post.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.

this router when I first purchased it, I wasn't expecting much, but this router actually does an good job. The range on this router is very good from the experience I had with it. After some quick changes to the default settings, we were online in no time. This isn't no gaming router, but for your basic everyday home router needs, it did the job pretty good. I liked it and would buy it again for anyone that wanted it.

When I went to Best Buy to buy a router, I intended on buying the simplest & cheapest option. However, one of the Best Buy workers discussed the different options with me and ultimately convinced me to buy this router, which was a tad more expensive, but SO WORTH IT. I have never experienced faster internet or a wider reach throughout my house. I would definitely buy this again!

This was purchased to use in an office setup to provide wifi to 15 devices. It works great and the coverage is very good. Setup was easy and was up and running in minutes. It has many configurable features if you need make changes to it, or functions perfectly as is. I'm still a fan of the Apple AirPort wireless devices for a home use situation, but if you need something for general office use, this is great.

ISP is Mediacom (Download Speed up to 15 Mbps, Upload speed up to 5 Mbps) in case that matters to anyone reading my review. I purchased this router along with the Motorola SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem. I mention this as I think the two together are what work so well. Before this purchase, I invested $130 into a Motorola all-in-one router/modem and had nothing but trouble and the internet didn't work half the time. With this new modem and the above mentioned router, our internet (including Netflix) performs perfectly. I would highly recommend this product.

This wireless router was tecommended by my salesperson as the best compatible router for my Suddenlink high speed internet service. It was easy to set up and has worked flawlessly so far after a month of daily use. I live in a 1000+ sq ft apt and it connects 2 smart tvs and 2 computers with no strain.

Router has been great thus far. It was very easy to set up. Has great range for my home. I like that you can set up two networks, as well as a guest network. The app that can be downloaded is also a huge plus. And lastly, it looks nice and sleek, being able to blend nicely with my other devices.

this router replaced a Linksys RANGEPLUS . We did get better coverage in a 3200sqft home but then the router would drop the connection.(first time one of their units have failed for me) returned the unit and decided to really upgrade to a MAX-STREAM. Have used Linksys products for years and have been very happy with there performance.

This Linksys AC1200+ is a compact size and classy looking if your setup will be visible. Installation, even for someone less than techy, is uncomplicated and quick to have up and running. You'll be pleased with the speed, security and adaptability to individual usage or home network with more than one computer. The 24/7 customer support is a plus, as is the cost.
