    Possible Bad Device

I bought after quite a bit of research on what would satisfy my needs as well as not break the bank. I was looking for a router with good range, good speed, ability to attach a USB drive and the ability to manage the router remotely. I also needed a router that would allow for entry of custom DNS servers. There are many products that fit this and I was excited about the Linksys AC1200+ (EA6350). I work in IT and have a Master's degree so I wasn't hesitant in doing many of the configurations myself. I began having problems almost immediately. The setup was fairly straightforward. One thing I noticed almost immediately was that any device on my 2.4ghz band was extremely slow. I updated the firmware without and issues hoping this would correct the issue. Unfortunately it did not. I have about 25 devices in total on my network. The speed of the 5ghz devices were all right in line with my ISP, showing that the router didn't add much if any overhead to the connection. I attempted to configure the router to work with OpenDNS but when putting the DNS settings on the local network the settings were ignored. Putting them on the internet side of the router did the trick but this is not the desired setup. Lastly I had an issue with a laptop that would no longer connect to VPN via a wireless connection. Plugging it into the router fixed this but again this was not the desired setup. I spent several days on the phone with Linksys support but nothing that was tried resolved the issue. Rebooting, re-flashing firmware, restoring to factory defaults, none of it seemed to change anything. Ultimately I returned the product and bought a Linksys WRT1200AC. This device has some really great features but given the number of issues I had I have to believe there was something actually wrong with the device I had. When performing the same steps in the nearly identical GUI of the WRT1200AC i had no issues at all. I could have easily rated this higher if I had a working device or easily rated it lower if this is persistent among all the EA6350.

This was fairly easy to set up. The instructions could be clearer in regard to the recommendation to retain the default ID and password that are unique. I had already changed them before I read the suggestion. Using the defaults (or at least knowing them) could be helpful if support needs to reset the router. I did call the support team when I ran into a problem, and there was live help that knew what to do. That gains a lot of points from me. I have lost sync with the modem a few times in the last month. (that loses some points) I can't know if it is the router, the modem, or a temporarily lost signal that is causing the interruptions, however past performance with an older technology router didn't lose sync hardly ever. I hesitate to blame this router without knowing for sure, but it is suspect. I'll rate it a 4, but if the sync problem is attributed to this router, it goes down to a 2. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend because of the possible sync issue.

i purchased a modem router combination for around 200 and had multiple issue with it. after 2 exchanges and a lot of reading, this router made all the difference. Excellent speeds, no more dropped service as with the combination, and signal easily reaches my 60 foot metal mobile home. Couldn't be happier.

I purchased a belkin router which was equivalent to this one, but I had to return it because we had so many issues. I am so glad we purchased this linksys. Has great coverage all over the house, fast internet speeds, does not drop connection. I would recommend this product to anyone in a heartbeat!

I needed to replace a failing Linksys N router. I first tried a Netgear R6300 but couldn't get it to connect. This Linksys AE6350 installed as instructed. It wasn't a quick install; one needs to be patient. While it didn't improve the speed (when my old router was working), it greatly improved the stability of my wireless system. I do a lot of video streaming and this router provides the wireless network that I need for that. My internet speed tests the same on a computer hard-wired to the router and on a laptop connected wirelessly in another room - no loss of speed on wireless. One caution: this router allows the user to set device priorities. I gave priority to my smart HDTV and my laptop that I use to stream video. However, after a couple of days my internet speed was reduced by 1/3 to 1/2. After trying the obvious - unplugging my modem and router and restarting them - which did not fix the problem, I removed the device priority setting. My speed was back to normal and I have had not further slow-downs.

It's easy to spend $50 on a cheaper router but this one is worth the extra money. Very easy to set up and the speed difference between my last router was significant. Also the guest account feature is nice for when you have people visit and you don't want them to have your main router password.

I needed to replace my wireless router with another that would offer sufficient coverage while not breaking the bank. I am not a gamer, so I don't have those demands. That said, I am very pleased with the coverage and signal strength provided by this unit.

This wifi router works in all of the rooms in my condo. I haven't had any signal issues and am able to manage all of the devices connected to it very easily. This router was very easy to hook up, the setup was incredibly user friendly, and the website to manage it is user friendly as well.

My old router was on the fritz and I finally broke down and bought this one. The range is much improved, and the speed much faster. There are still spots of my home where I can't get a signal though. If I were to move the router to a more centralized location I'm sure it would help.

We have TWC and this modem works great with their internet. It has 3 separate access points so if you have guests it has a separate login for them, the main one for computers and whatever and it has the 5GHZ one that can be used for gaming! Overall we are very satisfied with the purchase!

A very good wireless router for a smaller number of users/devices. I used it at the workplace for a backup connection to a secondary ISP for a few users with specific functions that are critical. Easy setup, good range and strength.

This router is a no brainier to install. Works well in a large home. Range could be a little better. Have always had good experience with this brand. This router replaced a previous version that worked great for three plus years until lightning struck within 50 feet of my house.

I"ve only had this for less than a month but so far it's working exceptionally well. It gives off a very strong wifi signal and the router works great. If this router/wifi combination continues to work as well as it has in the first month, I would highly recommend anyone to buy it.

It is a good product which does what says the vendor. Looks nice and easy to find a spot in the leaving room. Strong enough for what was made and easy tool to configure and manage it. For sure works very well on medium houses.

The Linksys router was easy to install and had it up and running within 10-15 minutes. Instructions provided were easy to follow and all necessary cables/connectors were provided. The signal strength meets requirements and was a vast improvement over our older Linksys model.

We were having trouble with wifi coverage in our home. We decided to change providers and get a new router. This was recommended by a friend and the salesman. The unit works great, was easy to set up and now we don't need an extender to get good signal throughout the house.

We bought this to replace an older router that was not reliable anymore. The signal is so good on this router that my wife uses it to work from home instead of the one from Time Warner that came with our internet service. Very fast and does not drop out. Great router.
