    So happy with this router

I am so impressed with this router that I'm eager to write the review, not my usual pattern. Although set up took time and effort because of all the options available to enhance connectivity and security, it is worth the effort. The security was a must after having a different brand 2 channel router hacked and hijacked. After that experience, you can imagine my delight that the Linksys system far exceeded my expectations for security. On top of that, the level of function far surpasses the former router. I have a smart TV that never streamed without freezing and rebooting enough to make me stop trying, streaming through my PC instead. Even the PC was subject to freezing and rebooting, but not as frequently. I don't know exactly when I was hacked, but the freezing and rebooting was a problem from the beginning. Today, I easily connected my TV and watched for more than 2 hours without any interruptions. Yesterday, I streamed through my PC, again without any interruptions.

I bought this as an upgrade to my old router. I did everything I could to try to get it to work. I am now using my old router. I expect devices to work longer than this.

Great Product. It's easy to setup and very fast

First of all, this product is super easy to setup. Actually, all I had to do was plug it in and open the browser. The router itself is fast, steady and a covers a wide and long range. So far I did not have any drops in connection. It also great that it can support multiple devices without dropping in speed and range. We have 5 phones, tv, PS4 and two computer connected. I'm able to use all them simultaneously and maintain my internet speed. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with lots of devices, including 4K streaming devices. Also, I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback.

      Hi Wendy,

It's possible that the firmware of your EA7300 router is outdated causing issues after hooking it up. We regret to hear that the product is no longer with you as we could have endorsed your case to one of our Escalation Engineers for a fix. Like others, I received this unit without charge from Linksys. I didn't need it as I've been mostly happy with a not to old Netgear router. However, now the Netgear is enjoying retirement as the Linksys is so much better. Signal strength on both bands are terrific, and I've had no dropouts at all. My cable provider recently upped my internet speed to100mb. Speed tests through the Linksys average 105mb. Quibbles? Well I didn't like that the guest Network is enabled by default, but that's easily remedied. This is a great router. Easy to set up. Easy to maintain. An excellent value.

      Hi, Aviationr,

It's odd that the router is behaving in this manner as it should establish a stable connection once it's set up. We can try setting fixed channels on both networks and ensure that the unit's firmware is updated.

Please email us your contact information at [email protected] so we can get you over to our Escalation Engineers. They'll help you achieve the product's expected performance. Indicate the link to this review for our reference.

    Great Router. Excellent Speeds!

Received review sample from Linksys. Setup was easy, until it would't recognize my internet connection. I had to reset and use manual setup (which was easy for me as a programmer / hardware builder, but may not be for others). This was the reason I gave it 4 stars. It may have been my unit, or my modem not working, or their servers. Otherwise, the menus were very easy to navigate and very well laid out, updating was easy, and the speeds were excellent. Everything else was perfect, other than it's size. This thing is HUGE! I had space, but make sure you have well over a foot width, 6-7 inches depth, and a foot and a half height.

Easy set up, like the web based login, you can make changes from anywhere, the range on the Wi-Fi broadcast is fantastic. I like the direct WiFi beaming allowing better faster connections. I set up a guest network so others couldn't see my devices or personal information on my network. That was super easy to do. Broadcast 2.4 up to 450 and the 5 Ghz will do up to 1250. Made a huge difference in Wi-Fi speed. The ports on the device are of course 1 Gig. All in all a solid router and at a really good price.

    Great mid-range router

    Posted .

First and foremost, I must say that I received a free sample of this router from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback. Since the installation of my new Linksys EA7300 router, my speeds have greatly increased. Seriously, this thing is blazing fast! With my old router, I was barely able to get 30mbps speeds but with the EA7300, I’ve hit speeds as high as 128mbps with ease. The speed alone makes this router fantastic. The range of the router seems very comparable to my old router. At the furthest point in my house, I still have 2-3 bars of signal, although with the new router, it seems more 3 bars than 2. I need to play around with the placement of the router as I’m sure better placement will result in a stronger signal. Setting up the router was a complete breeze. The software on the router itself is very easy to make changes to for customization purposes. For example, I don’t really want to advertise a “guest” network. Turning off the guest network was as simple as a click. Linksys always provides pretty solid customization options to make the router your own. The improved phone app was nice to see. I used an older version of the app that didn’t really work very well. The new app seems to allow more user configuration than the old one. I’d still like to see the ability to test speeds of the network from your phone when you’re not home. One small complaint is the light on the router itself. My router is located in my bedroom due to lack of other places to put it. This thing acts as a killer nightlight unfortunately. While you can turn off the activity lights (see, awesome configuration ability), it’d be nice to be able to either turn off or lower the brightness of the glowing Linksys name on the top of the router. Overall, the Linksys EA7300 AC-1750 wireless router is extremely solid in all facets. It’s a great mid-range router for those who want both fast speeds as well money left in their pocket. I thank Linksys for the opportunity to review this item.
