    Disconnects often and slow

    Its been frustrating owning this router and I'm getting a new one after only 6 months. 1) It's slow 2) It disconnects often and I have to reset it a lot, at least every couple of days, and its a full reset, not just unplug for 10 sec and plug back in

    bought at Best Buy as I have had 2 older Linksys routers in the past and loved them. Setup this model and all but connection between router and modem worked flawlessly. About every 4 hours the connection to internet would go offline. had to reset the router by software or power cycle to restore internet connection. No problems when old unit was reinstalled. got replacement from Linksys only to have the exact same problem. this model seems to have a high failure rate and I do not recommend.

    Didn't Connect to Internet

    Bought this to replace older EA6400 which I had been using for years. Connected the new unit in same location. Could not get to connect to internet. Was able to work through the setup of the unit only to find out it would not connect. Contacted customer service twice and they could not help. Pointed me in another direction after telling me they had fixed similar issues with setting up in a home network. Continued to ask me the same questions having answered them multiple times. Said the unit was faulty when they couldn't solve the problem. Asked if I had receipt and said I should take it back. Told them it was not defective, it was a setup issue. At one point connected direct to my modem and it worked but not in ideal location in house. Could not get to connect to my home network router.

    Don't Do It

    I am a relatively tech savvy person, and set up was difficult. Router would go in and out of connectivity. When I finally got the internet, the Linksys setup page would not recognize my user id and password to adjust settings. After 30 mins on phone with a customer service rep that barely spoke English, I gave up. Returning tomorrow, will go with something other than Linksys.

    Doesnt support Oculus Quest with Chromecast

    Apparently you cannot disable AP Isolation with the EA7300. This unfortunately prevents an Oculus Quest headset from being able to cast to a Chromecast on the same network. I have tried all tech support recommendations, and no setting changes made a difference. If you want to be able to cast your Virtual Reality experience from an Oculus Quest headset to a Chromecast device, you cannot use the EA7300 router.

    fast but limited configuration

    I bought this router but had to return it because there is a bug in the software that makes OpenDNS configurations ineffective. Reading longtime reviews in the support group page LinkSys seems not at all interested in fixing the bug. If you use OpenDNS avoid this router at all costs. It will not work!! I'm very disappointed with LinkSys. Especially after they were made aware of the bug and did nothing to fix it. Would I recommend this router? Depends. I would not recommend it for what I wanted.
