Parental control features are easy to use and helpful in limiting times individual devices can access the Internet. I am far from tech savvy, but was able to utilize all the control features on my own! I highly recommend this router.

I work for an MSP in the Birmingham metropolitan area and CISCO (Linksys) is one of our vendor lines that we carry. I have always been impressed with their Enterprise level devices so I decided to try one of their consumer grade routers. Man, what an abysmal failure. First, the range on this device is mediocre and based on a wireless signature scan of my house, there are several transmission :holes" even when adjusting the antennae. The most disappointing thing though, is that it drops the connection to the ISP constantly. Yes, I upgraded the firmware, yes I adjusted the MTU, yes I have rebooted it, yes I have validated the throughput, yes I have verified the connections, yes I have isolated the device, yes I have checked for interference...yes yes and yes to a myriad of other proposed things that Linksys always seems to blame you for rather than taking responsibility for defects in a percentage of their products. (and yes Linksys, I do hold a CCNA certification) The bottom line is this... there seems to be a known issue with this router dropping its connection consistently. Search the reviews on this site or others and you will see an overwhelming pattern. That's not to say that there aren't several users who have gotten a good unit. Great! But it seems like a high percentage of these units have this problem. You can do better Linksys, seriously. I am taking this unit back to Best Buy and returning it...not exchanging it. I have spent far too much time losing my connection and having to either reboot or wait for it to reconnect...troubleshooting etc. Ridiculous. A device in this price range should just work consistently right out of the box. I will say that the APP has a great interface and some really good, useful features... but that doesn't help me keep a stable connection to my ISP. You can do better Linksys, and you have lost a consumer customer. I think I will go back with Netgear or maybe try one of the ASUS routers.
